As some time has passed since the release of this video, both games experienced a few changes: GT Sport now features more races in the rain on several tracks while Assetto Corsa Competizione got a complete rework of their Competitive Servers making them a lot more similiar to the system iRacing is using and got a new physics element - the simulation of chassis flex. Furthermore, GT Sport will get an improved version of its penalty-system in the near future.

If I'm overall ok with what you say, I wouldn't give the "Graphics" point to ACC. To me Gran Turismo remains the most beautiful racing game on consoles ; not only during races, but also concerning the replays.

I also think the sound is better on GT sport as well. Which makes sense cuz polyphony, really took their time as making THE realistic sim racing game, on a console. It's no wonder why it took them so long and it also explains why there's LESS content compared to the likes of Forza!!

On consoles, yes, but you simply haven't played both games personally, hence why you make such a claim. ACC is a newer game catered towards PC users, just because of this, ACC at maximum settings and resolution, is far superior than GTS. If you have the PC to push ACC to max settings, it's a lot better than GTS. Not to mention that GTS doesn't even have dynamic weather. What Polyphony does well is investing a lot of time into attention to detail in cars, and pushing those details as much as PS4 would allow them to without affecting average FPS and resolution. But overall visuals, are still better in ACC just because it is using UE4 and it's made to be played on PCs.

@@TheVlatko666 Forget the resolution and framerate. The FACT that the polygon counts AND THE ADVANCE HDR implementation on GTSport is still better. That's what we're trying to say. I don't give 2 shits on higher framerates and resolution cuz, the ps4 pro, has enough to NOT complain about that part period.

Fair. Regarding the graphics it really comes down to personal preferences. ACC just has this art-style where everything is extremely colorful (which I like), whereas GT Sport lacks a bit in this area (without HDR ofc) but has excellent lighting and is overall a bit brighter I'd say.

Great video. Recently started playing GT Sport and the online multiplayer matching system is really excellent and provides reliable regular races. I'm keen to play ACC for the realism but it sounds like it is lacking in the area I love so much about GT Sport which is a shame.

In the meantime, Kunos did introduce a Competitive Server (CP) system to ACC, where there are 4 races per day on a fixed race calendar that changes every month. In these races, players are assigned into a split depending on their individual ratings (Saftey, Pace etc.) and gain "ELO" based on their results in these CP races (there is an own rating for that similiar to the ones already present). So basically, its multiplayer is now kinda similiar to iRacing's. I can't speak for the PS4, but on PC those races are always populated and great to drive (at least in EU regions) :D

GT Sport or rather Gran Turismo as a series has this nice nostalgia to it and is currently for sure your best option on PS4. On PC it's more like ACC vs. iRacing and in the near future (hopefully) also vs. Automobilista 2 :D

High end pc flagship? . Acc made by a small team that it's hard to compare with a totally supported title like gt. We can't see any pc flag ship cause consoles Dictating the advance. If we all would put more money in our hobby gaming, games would look so much better today and would be better in physics too. But we decided to go the cheap way.

What I like about acc is just the realism. the fact that you can do an Inlap after the race, that you have to drive carefully, you are getting radio messages from your engineer, being able to drive by yourself in the pitlane and so on. That’s what I always disliked about games like gt sport and the f1 games or in general the more Arcady simulators. The tasks that are to hard for you are done all by themselves. So I feel very happy having bought acc a while ago and even if I can skip the „hard“ Parts, I genuinely like to do them anyways

@Bronso You didn't get it, it's a whole. I will pass on the unmatched physic of assetto corsa that leave no room for mistakes, for exemple you will never find a car respawning. 9th lap ? 1st since the beginning ? 1 error and you're screwed, no teleportation, no assistance. Also you can configurate you car... You literally have to learn automobile engineering if you want the best setup for YOUR way of driving. And don't underestimate the feeling of starting and driving your car to the race track, blue flag, watching for room to enter the pist. Also static start... I hate beginning a race with my car drived by the AI.

And btw, irl, drivers never tune their cars, engineers do it, so that's unrealistic lol. Anyway, to me, it's very clear. GT is like a simulator where u jump right into it and u drive and have fun. GT Sport is the winer.. most polished game, realistic handlig with steering whell, proper multiplayer and contents is everything. However most disapointed thing about GT Sport was no VR multiplayer on ps4, only driving aginst AI car, we hope its coming to next gen PS5 on GT7

GT Sport doesn’t punish overdriving like ACC but if you can still try and drive as smoothly as possible and be really fast. If you make a conscious effort to respect a realistic racing line then it’s possible to be more consistent and faster than if you used the throwing technique popular in GT.

Hm, interesting things to compare here but... Better graphics on ACC? REALLY? GT Sport has much more FX, car models are astonishing and overall details are much better than on ACC, not mentioning the replays which are probably the best round the globe so be fair here - GTS has better graphics without a doubt! ACC has great sim value but also GTS made a HUGE step from the launch date and is a great sim now. To compare it preciselly we have to compare GT3 cars (GR3 cars in Gran Turismo) and the comparison is probably go in favor of ACC but GTS is also a great sim when count all the other cars because its not strictly pointed on only one racing genre like ACC. Only wanna say my point of view so PEACE BRO...

Nice comparison! GT is my home game, I love the multiplayer. AC has super awesome physics. Both great to play! One small detail I must point out about the sound on GT..in cockpit mode in a gt car there is a loud winding. This winding is realistic, competition cars with gutted interior make that sound do to sequential transmissions that have straight but gears.

There’s two tracks with rain in GTS and the rain physics suck in GTS it’s like Ice driving not rain driving, SR system and Contact penalties are now off GTS has turned into GTwreckfest, we haven’t gotten a new track in over two or three years, the races on GTS being between 6-18 mins is what causes the over driving

GT is my love. I played the older ones (since GT4) and there were so many things to do (except just racing) like some mini games or so.. Im kinda sad that GT Sport doesnt have such features anymore, but they even said that GT Sport is gonna be a different GT. Now they added some more stuff like the special stage x route and whatever.

It doesnt have the old map from GT4 but they patched in nearly all the old campaign races (J-Cup, Stars and Stripes, Hot Hatch, etc...)

It's strange, the technical quality of the graphics are better in ACC but GT is more pleasing to look at and at a quick glance is more likely to fool you into thinking it's real. Upon inspection it seems like It's the color balance and the visual elements they chose to spend their limited polygon count that make it so good.

ACC is amazing now. Being based on a real racing series, and as such the realism second to none. GT Sport is nice, but it feels like a game, not a sim.

GT Sport is probably the best entry level simulation out there. It communicates the basic techniques of racing with a decent level of realism. ACC on the other hand was (as you said) made to simulate a specific type of car and a selected number of tracks as closely as possible. And it really does a darn good job at it :D

@@GTRacing33 Yes, for a console gamer it's can be a great place to start. It's quite an impressive game. Personally, id start with Assetto Corsa 1. You have literally everything that you need in that sim to start, and eventually compete in SRO E-Sport Series, or iRacing. Can't do that from playing GT Sport.

@@ZuneGuy1118 My first proper sim actually was PC1, which led to AC, PC2, ACC and all that good stuff :D For GT Sport it was more about the nostalgia, because I got my very first wheel when I was about 9 years old and used to play GT 4 and GT 5 all day with it ^^ In the end, everyone needs to know for himself what he likes best. I for myself enjoy the hardcore stuff (iRacing, ACC etc.) as well as the more relaxed GT Sport :D

@@GTRacing33 yea i think gt sport graphics is way more convincing. mostly because the sort of visuals that the game produces seems, to me, to be more natural and unfiltered. ACC is sometimes too cinematic and the blue hue that kunos uses really annoys me. ACC does excell in bringing a track alive and i think that it does well with the modeling of the track environment and the cars, but that i think gtsport is not only matches that i think GT Sport does it with arguably a less powerfull graphics engine. When ACC gets it right with the graphics it is really good, even mesmerizing sometimes, but i think GT Sport sells it visuals better and more consistently.

Has there been an overhaul of the physics in Assetto Corsa Competizione? I have AC Ultimate Edition on PS4 and while the baseline physics feel good, a lot of the production cars handle a bit wacky.

The physics in ACC are an improved version of those in AC. In one of their update posts for ACC Kunos even stated, that they had a problem with their tyre model in AC and instead of fixing it, went with a workaround which made things a bit strange and less realistic at times. In ACC this was one of the first things they completley reworked. On the other Hand ACC just features GT3 cars and tracks from the Blancpain series (rip Nordschleife and Red Bull Ring). To come back to your question, yes the physics in ACC are better but it lacks a bit content wise (which isn't Kunos's fault). However, there will be a DLC with new tracks in the near future which helps a lot.

I'm haven't played RR but I own both ACC and PC2 and I can say that it feels nothing like PC2. In PC2 the cars feel a lot more "loose" whereas they feel super planted and responsive in ACC.

Nathan Miller sound is more realistic and immersive in Assetto Corsa Competizione. From little touches such as the pickup of gravel hitting the bottom of the vehicle, the variety of apex sounds, and the brake discs screeching, sound is definitely the strength of Assetto Corsa. Graphics are in GT Sports favour however the rest of the video is accurate. Please do not claim that I am being biased as I am also a GT Sport fanatic. The physics in all honesty aren’t too realistic and at times lets the game down. All in all the video is relatively accurate.

GT Sport surely has unique shifting sounds. Even though they are less realistic and a bit odd (as you said), I think they fit GT Sport quite well and make the game itself more unique in a way. For example you could probably tell purely by the sound of the cars whether a car is driven in GT Sport or any other game :D

It's possible to Drive with Controller. Even in light wet conditions with dry tyres without stability Control and Traction control IT IS possible with Controller. The Car feels better than in that GT garbage.

I think the next gen console will be pretty much caught up graphics wise to modern computers for the first year or two, then PC parts will start to pull away again. But obviously if your more into sim racing your going to go PC for all the titles, mods, VR, etc.)

The two bads with GTsport are 1 the cars sound and the options to fix suspensions .but if they fix the sound of the cars we cum on the controller! Is perfect and the graphics are better than asseto! I played both and this os the truth. For me 8.7/10 for asseto 9/10 for gtsport

The sounds in GT Sport are actually decently done (especially in the TV camera setting in replays) in my opinion. Regarding the graphics it's more a case of individual preferences since both games have a different graphical style so to say (ACC has more satured colors, while GT Sport is a bit more stale but shines when it comes to the details of its cars for example). Both games are great though :D

My ranking: graphics - hmm its a wash because even though gt sport looks sometimes better but it does not have dynamic lighting and realtime shadows and because of that developers can bake all shadows and dial all the lighting extremely accurately with minimal performance penalties while acc have to do everything dynamically that requires a lot of performance. Sound - obviously acc best sounding sim on the market. Physics - again no comparison gt sport is great simcade but its nowhere close to acc, as acc currently for gt cars is the best simulator on the market. Multiplayer - gt sport crushes it and is much better in this aspect, content - again gt sport wins this as it has much much more content however their tracks are not laser scanned for many people its not the issue however laser scans provide the most accuracy for tracks. So from my ratings and overview they are about equal on paper however they are aimed at different market - acc full on simulator which aim is to simulate everything as close as possible while gt sport is excellent simcade which has great multiplayer, great and lots of content and is aimed more to casual public which wants to have good looking racing game with decent physics, to be able to use with a wheel, and great multiplayer battles.

GT Sport was released in 2017, but I wouldn't necessarily agree with calling it "archaic". Yes it is older than ACC but it still gets a lot of love (and free content updates) from its developers and has therefore also a lot to offer. ACC on the other hand focuses on a single racing series and therefore lacks a bit of content or rather variety overall. However, it does a great job at simulating just this one series.

I own both and GT sport not only looks more realistic it feels more realistic, and the physics are by far more realistic. Sure the sounds arnt the beat in GT sport but it is a far more better real racing sim then acc will ever be. And GT sport is older. GT will always be the best and people can’t admit that sometimes. It wins in every category except sound. Only game that comes close to GT is I racing

Both racing games so both games, I have both , I have all racing games ( the famous ones in the past 15 years) so yes , acc is far better that any racing on consoles , when it comes to physics and sound of the cars ,environment, tires , gt sport has better graphics, much more cars and circuits , but the physics is not at the same level , gt sport is only 50% a sim physics/ sounds /settings , acc is 90% a sim , I say 90% because only the pro pilots have access at the real simulators for practice and learn real circuits

Gt es simcade acc es sim de pc tiene mejores fisicas modelos de pista sonidos y graficos (en gt sports solo puedes jugar a 60 fps y 2 jugadores con las gafas vr en acc puedes superar 60 fps super facil y es compatible con vr (Edit) tambien esta para consolas a ver si lo pruebas pero este no es un juego para jugar con mando este es un juego para jugar con volante

You are absolutely right, a simulator should always try to simulate a real racing experience as closely as possible. GT Sport doesn't do that (eg. no laser scanned tracks) while ACC just recently added chassis flex and keeps getting more and more realistic every update. However, one should be grateful for simcade games as GT Sport, since it's those games which may be the tipping point for people who enjoy racing and started with something easier to drive (GT Sport, Forza and so on) but now want to dive deeper into the world of simracing and want a more realistic experience (AC, ACC, iRacing...). In the end, both parties should appreciate each other since it's basically a win win situation - people may start with simcades (as they are not as frustrating and punishing in terms of car control / physics) but are likely to at least try something more realistic afterwards. So saying "Don't ever play simcades because they are not proper simulators", which sadly a lot of simracers do (I'm not accusing you here ^^), might drive a person completley away from simracing in the long run.
