Wowza that slipstream was quite something - almost like having DRS! Great pack racing there and AC looking majestic as ever. Some great overtakes in there Chris!
@chrisrogerssimracingАй бұрын
Yeah! The particular highlight was me slipstreaming someone to pass them on the start straight, them tucking in behind me and slipstreaming me right back before we made it to T1 🤣 classic Mazda shenanigans

Great race Chris and a good result. It was a nice clean race from all the other drivers too, making a great race to watch.

Oof! I think you've outdone yourself with both the racecraft and commentary with this video. What a great finish. It's very tempting to go for a psychotic divebomb in the last turn, but you managed to keep it clean and fair. Great job!
@chrisrogerssimracingАй бұрын
Thank you, yeah it definitely felt like it was one of the most exciting races I’ve done… both driving, and video-making. Thanks for watching, and I’m glad you enjoyed it 😃

OMG! I was in that race! I am Marc "Padre"! I, like you, always try to race clean and it resulted in a brief by intersting battle with you. Fortunately I didn't realize it was you since I play in VR and tend to disable all on screen widgets. I say fortunately because I would have gotten nervous otherwise! I've been following your races for some time now. I love your narration style and the fact that you cut off the uninteresting parts. I am sure it takes a lot of work to record and edit this kind of videos but some of us surely enjoy them. Keep up with the good work! You made my day today featuring me in that race. You even showed a replay of my f**k up when trying to shift down and enter the left hander: I use a clutch and an H pattern shifter and apparently forgot how to use them for a brief moment: kind of confused the clutch with the brake and relased the clutch suddenly when the revs had gone down too much causing the car to spin. Very nice race indeed. See you on track!
@awakeandwatching953Ай бұрын
yeah the ease of use with AC and VR is the nain reason i still main AC LFM.. unfortunately doing the 296 series has resulted in killing my SR.. should probably grind some back in the mx 5 but with my limited time i really enjoy the 296 which often feels more like a lmp2 than a gt3.. seems way faster than the 296 from acc that its imported from
@chrisrogerssimracingАй бұрын
Nice to meet you Marc, thanks for watching and it’s great to finally get a battle out on track! Yeah that was a wonderful spin at the end of the straight! But I imagine very easily done with an H shifter. Apologies if I pronounced your name wrong… as you’ve watched the channel a while, you’ll know name pronunciation isn’t my strong point 🤣 cracking racing though, I’ll keep an eye out for you on future grids 👍
@mso9319Ай бұрын

Wow, what a great race! I saw a couple questionable incidents elsewhere, but at least your race was clean! Interlagos didn't seem like an ideal track for MX5s, but it worked out well with lots of positions back and forth. Lots of excitement, even with the long stretches of flat-out throttle.
@chrisrogerssimracingАй бұрын
Yeah, I’m not normally a fan of a combo that relies so heavily on slipstreaming, but I have to admit it made this one even more dramatic. And of course, it set up my grandstand finish!

Yeah I’m glad I went back to give it one more try (the two I did earlier in the day were… not good!) Loving the CMRT too. I don’t like the faff of running browser overlays, so it’s great in AC that you can configure it in-game without having run separate tabs open.

4:10 if you shifted your line to the left, then followed Adriano as he made the pass, on the inside (right) you could have gotten a more late apex drive, then had a chance to pass Marc on the inside entering the next corner. 5:40 if you had hesitated on the throttle ~1/10 of a sec, you would better be able to take advantage of the draft (as is you would have to move to the right like you did or let off the gas), move to his inside then pass going into T1. If he saw that coming and defended more, you could have started the pass on the right but hold him at the far left to compromise his entry, then swerved to the right just b4 breaking, hold the line on the outside, get a better drive out of that right and if not yet passed, pass going into the next left. This would require trusting him making the apex or hope he outbreaks himself, notice that and quickly make the right response (let him by then dive for the apex.) Both of those moves are pretty advanced to get the timing and positioning just right. The ones I've seen able to pull stuff like that off usually had an iRating of at least 5K on iRacing.

These MX-5 races are always so intense!! Good fighting, Chris. Always a joy to watch! Btw, how did you get the proximity radar and the mirror for AC?
@chrisrogerssimracingАй бұрын
Thank you mate. The HUD is a new app for AC called CMRT. The relative board, tyres, radar and delta bar below the mirror are all in the CRMT app. You can move and rescale them, so I just positioned the delta bar right below the standard in-game virtual mirror 👍

Nice race Chris - I have had varying luck with some other dreadful drivers in Split1. Some people cant accept they are too slow and drive straight through you. It is very frustrating. Lost 2 SR and 100 ELO in 4 races from people hitting me from behind. What times do you race GMT - I wouldn't mind having an LFM race with you. You race very fairly which is great.
@chrisrogerssimracingАй бұрын
I encountered the same mate. I did 2 races before this one, both top split, and they were really bad. I got taken out in both with people driving right through me. Then, I came back to give it another try, dropped down into Split 2 and it was so much better. My race times are pretty random, but often it will the 4.20pm or 6.20pm (UK time) races on a weekday. If I’m home at the weekend, then lunchtime or early afternoon on a Saturday 👍
@vikingpsgАй бұрын
Nice race although you still have a tendency to give too much consideration to drivers that are fully behind you. It's their responsibility to avoid you not the other way around. If they don't have a reasonable overlap then you should concentrate more on your entry, apex and exit. On this track exits are far more important as their are some long fast runs out of some of the bends and if you don't get a good exit then your just throwing away lap time. Really good to see the continued improvement in racecraft though. Keep it up dude. 👍
@chrisrogerssimracingАй бұрын
Thank you man, much appreciated. Yeah I know sometimes I leave more space than I need to, but for this one, it was purely about self preservation. The two previous races I did of this combo, I was taken out by impatient people behind driving through me. So I was mindful of it when it came to this third attempt. To be fair, I could have trusted them all in this one, as they all seemed like fair and decent racers 😃
@agostonmihaly4Ай бұрын
Wonderfull racing my friend, was wondering what hud mods are you using?
