Great list! My daughter is 4 and we have been loving so many of these. Another suggestion is the Heartwood Hotel series.

I would recommend The Magic Treehouse series.. it may be a little too advanced for your daughter.. but they are great fun books and the kids get to time travel thru history and visit other countries, etc... my son loved that series - and there are 30+ books... ge read them independently but also loved them so much that he had us read them to him at bedtime, too...

My 6 year old also loves Kitty and Princess in Black. Other favorites - Baby Sister Little sister graphic novels, Owl Diaries, Unicorn Diaries, Princess Posey, Ivy & Bean, Diary of an Ice Princess and Isadora Moon!

These are great! Thank you for sharing! Is the goal for the 50 books to be read independently? Or do you read them together? If they read independent, what method do you use to check for comprehension? I would love to know more!

I would be very grateful if you made a video on how you taught your kids to read. Thanks!

Great suggestion! I will add that to my list! For the most part though we used the free downloadable curriculum from core knowledge. It is in their kindergarten language arts "skills" section.

How do you normally decide on the books they will read for the year, beyond their interests?
@LoveLearningEveryday2 жыл бұрын
Mostly I try to read a lot of lists usually from Pinterest (I love the "what we do all day" blog) and just from watching other videos. I also try to make sure that she is reading plenty of books from characters like her and characters that give her a different perspective. And I usually check the book's rating on good reads before I buy it.

Can u do a video on all the educational games u use in ur homeschool? Can u do a video on what electives u use and how u schedule it into ur daily routine?
@LoveLearningEveryday2 жыл бұрын
I will add those to my list for future videos! In general though for electives we do Italian with talk box mom and music with prodigies music and we pull art projects from different sources and we do a little emotions and mental health work book for health. Right now our schedule is kinda crazy but normally we do one of those things at the end of the day. But to be honest right now more often than not it doesn't get done. (except music that is everyday)

Loved watching this my 6 y/o is reading a lot of the same books! Sophie mouse is a really sweet series i think you guys will enjoy it. She might also like Mindy Kim and Yasmin books! Never Girls has been a big hit around my house too. We’re reading all of the Pages and Co books aloud right now and I just ordered a few of the whatever after books also, it is my understanding that it also has book travel and shes just obsessed with that idea now.
@LoveLearningEveryday2 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh that is so fun! I will have to check out all those books! Pages and co has been on my radar for awhile now, how are you guys liking it?

@@LoveLearningEveryday we are loving it! I have been trying to read a book ahead and then i make sure to get picture books or look up a good scene from the books that the characters in pages and go wander into and that way when we get to it the excitement from my kids is big! (My kids are five & six, girl/boy) and they both love the series and talk to people about it all the time. My favourite thing is that it inspires more reading and just an overall love of reading. The author also writes back (snail mail) to kids that write her! I’ve msgs with her on instagram a bit too, i just feel like part of a really cool family getting to be in her community. Anyways, im rambling but only because it really is that amazing

When you say she is reading these, do you mean you do it as a read aloud for her, she is reading it to you or that she is taking them to read on her own?
@LoveLearningEveryday2 жыл бұрын
She is taking them to read on her own. But if she wants to read it out loud to me that is fine too.

How is she reading so well???

To be honest, I think both of my kids are probably gifted. But also because both my kids were very interested in the alphabet at a young age, I just worked with them early. I think it helps too that she has an older brother that models really great reading habits and a love for reading so she was really motivated to read books.

Do you buy most of the books?
@LoveLearningEveryday2 жыл бұрын
We didn't use to but since we moved and are at a smaller library now, I am buying most of the books. So far it hasn't been too bad financially though. We have gotten a lot from book outlet, or thrift books, or the buy 2 get one free sale from amazon or target. And we owned a lot of these previously.
