I just found you and I'm excited I did. Not only do you show secular homeschooling resources, but you love to read! I really appreciate how passionate you are about great books and I love that you show inside the books! Your great summaries and peeks inside really help with confidently choosing books for my son. ❤😊

You could talk about what you ate for breakfast and lunch and I'd listen. Your voice is so soothing and nice to listen to. We are a big book family, too. Great video.

We loved the Vanderbeekers (just finished the third one), and adored both Skunk and Badger books! There is a fossil tie in with the second Skunk book, and a Secret Garden tie in with the second Vanderbeekers book (the beginning of The Secret Garden was too dire/tragic for us, but we did try it!). Seven year old and I are tentatively planning on trying some of the gentler Brave Writer selections like the Dragon one and Far North (seems a bit like Pooh?) books this year. I keep a big list of possibilities tagged on the Libby app and pull from there with our mood, and keep a document with some notes on possible monthly seasonal tie ins. Thanks for these ideas!

Have you read the Matt Haig Truth Pixie series and A Mouse Called Mika? they are both part of the A Boy Called Christmas collection.

I also highly recommend Ben Miller's Christmas books as well - similar vibe to Matt Haig

Look into Forever or a Long, Long Time. It's a very good story about two kids adopted from foster care. Just another view point to read from! We've read Pax, When stars are scattered, a wolf called wander and a whale of the wild.

That you so much! I haven't heard of that one! I am definitely adding it to our future list!

I just use Bookshark books. I think they do a wonderful job picking out interesting books. Some are misses, but it is still fun to check out what they recommend.

That is definitely a great way to pick! I am definitely going to look through their list when we eventually do world history.
