hey man! Happy new Year, almost!! SO the 3-screw carb is really nothing to worry about, the third needle which is your mid-speed needle just needs to remain flush with the carb body. Most people recommend never tuning it. So you're just messing with 2-needles anyway. 2021 will be the year of the Nitrogang, I will be taking some epic steps to make things happen.

The perfect car to prove to that Nitro isn't slow! Seriously, the only reason Nitros are "slow" today, is because we only get small engine with good quality, or semi big engines with bad quality. Imagine a .50 with Novarossi quality! O_O

hey bro! This thing should top out at the mid 40's, in reality nitro monster trucks don't ever hit over 50 (stock). My savage XL 3-speed hit 46 MPH, and it's a very good result. Thing is, nitros are fast if yo get a Jato. The jato will compete on the track (in terms of speed) in fully RTR mode against any other RTR electric. Ofcurse if you start running crazy lipo batteries and 300 dollar ESC's then the electrics will dominate.

Hey Damitri i put a post up in the nitro gang about launching a campaign to bring back all the good nitro rc cars back that have been discontinued like the mgt8.0 and the ek4 i never had one of these great trucks kyosho did this so they should too the nitro gang should start communicating with thunder tiger and team associated to try and get these trucks back on the market that would make nitro great again we got the kyosho usa 1 back and a new savage but we must get the mgt 8.0 and the ek4 back too! We may not succeed but if we spread the word we might have a chance at getting these cars back

hey buddy! Happy new Year, Im honestly not sure, I don't own a 4.6 model. I would highly recommend you just find the direct replacement engine mount to begin with, other than take a chance on parts not fitting. also look at the exploded parts views and track down the part numbers for both engine mounts, if they are the same, the part numbers will match. Finally the ek4 has found a worthy opponent. Lol, at 11.4 cc, the 5.9 or 7.7 is nothing compared to it. Btw run it leaner, it will have much more power, I can hear it garbling and bogging a bit on the low end. So sad that you can't find any mccoy plugs anymore! I use OS plugs in everything now. Btw for the pipe, I would use a wire brush on it. Works like a charm all the time.

Turbo plugs don't need the Cooper gasket, also bigger in size. The non turbo plugs are smaller and need a gasket. I'm guessing the turbo are supposed to be better for performance, but correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers

hey buddy! thanks for watching and great question! The term "turbo" refers to the glow plug style and the design of the head button to accommodate the "turbo plug". Generally the turbo plug is just longer and has a tapered end unlike the flat end of a typical plug. A google search turned this up "Turbo glow plugs are specially shaped to provide more efficient and powerful running of your nitro engine". Personally I think it's negligible, but the top spec motors generally do run Turbo plugs.

The turbo plug is tapered and fits only on taper head engines, if you run a novarossi like me, you CANNOT run OS plugs do NOT do that, once you use an os plug then you use an os plug for the life of the engine since the taper is different, I have used protek glow plugs with no problem in my nova

Hi Hybrid I have a Question for you or any one else who can help , I got a Kyosho FW06 228 nitro which is super cool only I have discovered it has a Locked front Diff ? and a split rear diff , after hearing some rather nasty Crunching sounds coming from the front when turning I changed the diff out for a split diff ( easy job ) I don`t understand why Kosho would put a Locked diff in the front ? hey buddy! That's a good value for 2 of these in Canadian dollars. I know stuff in Canada is substantially more expensive in this hobby. Anyway, I almost never need to look for parts because I only purchase fully complete RCs, generally they are always fixable without any parts as long a they are complete, you know. Even if the motor is seized, no big deal, just clean it out and put a new plug, and you're good.

@@mattleitch9577 to be honest with you, I don't bash them as hard as I would something like a Traxxas T-maxx 3.3, just because of parts availability alone. If you have severe engine problems most people just stick an LRP 32 into these, and it's fine. When buying old RCs, you just got to be extra careful with them, you know. Otherwise you will be parts hunting on eBay.

It's not weird that the carbs are the same size... A larger motor will draw more air through it and pull more fuel... iirc When I went from a 250f to 450f dirtbike they used the same keihin FCR carb but the 450f had smaller jets but a larger pumper diaphragm (which isn't a vacuum drawn, the pumper would squirt fuel in when you cracked the throttle open quickly and vacuum dropped to compensate for the fuel the jetting couldn't provide instantly).

I still find it interesting because we are talking about a small block traxxas motor and a big block Heli motor. Just these factors alone are significant. IF they were both big-blocks then I would not have pointed this out. But we are not comparing a .21 vs a .25, these are significantly different blocks.

How do I not foul glow plugs as fast I got my first nitro traxxas slayer for chrismas and how do you tune it right and not foul plugs

Easy, first make sure the engine is completely broken in, the procedure would be in the manual, after that, make sure your engine is warmed up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.you first tune the high speed needle, the brass one, where the fuel line goes on, turn the screw to the right in tiny turns, like a 1/16 of a turn, keep doing this till the engine makes a bog noise, or when you come back from a high speed pass and the rpms stays up and then drops down, if the engine does that then go to the left in a 1/16 of a turn. For the low speed needle, go for a full throttle run, bring it back, idle for 5 seconds, then punch the throttle and see how it takes off, if it takes of slowly with lots and lots of smoke, turn the low speed needle to the right in a 1/16 of a turn, with your engine off, turn on your remote and press the throttle, see the thing moving in and out of the carb? Look for a screw on the thing that moves on the side that is the low speed needle, if the engine hesitates or bogs without smoke when taking off, then turn the low speed needle 1/16 of a turn to the left. The idle screw, if you haven’t touched the idle screw then just leave it where it is, you can use it to help you adjust your low speed needle, start the engine, let it warm up, and see how it idles, does it slow down and die? Then turn the low speed needle a 1/16 of a turn to the right, if the engine speeds up and dies then turn a 1/16 of a turn to the left, you want to get it to have constant idle for 20 seconds, after that you can tune the low speed needle with the method where you punch the throttle(method above this paragraph) Hope this helps! hey man! Depending hw you look at it, I would say the MGT chassis is more unique because it's "EXTRUDED" and has many 90 degree angles. The Revo chassis is just a highly bent and contoured piece, but it does not have 90 degree bends. There is a lot more here than I am pointing out, google the benefits of extruded aluminum and you will see the difference. The MGT article says the following - (Extruded aluminum chassis) - The Monster GT chassis is the most unique on the market today. It’s made out of an extruded, box-shaped section of aluminum that has been machined to accept the transmission and diffs. This is a very strong design and doesn’t require chassis braces to maintain rigidity.

@@hybrid32494 I understand the differences between extruding and forming aluminum... But TraxAss tells us they us a tempered 6061 alloy that is incredibly strong and used widely. Associated just tells us it's extruded, but doesn't list the alloy... I Just Bought Me The MGT 8.0, From Offer Up.. He Doesn't Remember What Brand Or Heat Range Of Glow Plug He Used..He Said, The Last Time He Ran It Was 3-4yrs Ago.. I Tried To Turn The Crank With My Fingers, But It Couldn't Budge..Its Probably All Gunked Up All Inside & He Doesn't Remember If He Added After Run Oil Or Not.. hey dude! You need to first do some engine cleaning and maintenance. Remove the cooling head and backplate assembly, then see how gunned up it is, add some WD-40 it should loosen up. IF it's really bad just wash the motor in the sink, no big deal, then re-oil it. Anyway I used a MCCOY MC-59 plug, but you can use an medium OS plug, really does not matter. Even a traxxas plug, will be fine. Your tune will matter way more than the plug type, trust me.

hey buddy! It is true that primer bulbs can cause air leaks over time. This one seems to be perfect and there are no fuel line issues I've noticed. Otherwise you're right, it's best to eliminate the primer altogether.

hey bro! Very good point, I have since converted to run my flysky gt5 now, I noticed the stock radio became glitchy for no good reason. In the next part video you will see I am not using the factory FM radio. I'm thinking all the metal to metal connections throughout the entire throttle and brake linkage are causing interference and glitchy servos. The glitchiness went away with the flysky btw, as expected.

hey bro! You seem high knowledgeable on this truck, so let me tell you some odd issues I've noticed. So the exhaust sleeve is ok on mine, but the fuel tubing going into the pipe just isn't wide enough and there is some oil seeping though the fuel line. Nothing I can do about it at this point.
