How can a normal human being dislike this video ?????? thank you again !

Haha honestly I’ve got it good, some people get upset when I criticise the GH5 autofocus but nothing like the hate the big guys get! Appreciate the comment, thanks for watching!

That false color LUT is pretty neat. I didn't ever think about that DOF tip with ext tele, def putting that one in the back pocket. Thanks for the thoughts.

Nice. Very helpful to get those last percent of hidden potential out of the camera... Use of the GH5S is very limited indeed. Thanks for the effort.

Thanks! Yes a few of these don’t apply to the GH5S unfortunately :(

Another great video Myles. I have 4 fully manual primes and had never thought to use the monochrome live view trick. Main reason I purchased an external monitor (which I rarely use) was because I found focus peaking on the GH5 screen hit and miss. Will give this a go for sure.
@ShotByMyles5 жыл бұрын
Cheers Dominic, glad you found it useful! I know what you mean about the peaking, it can give false positives or be tough to see completely. I’d imagine red peaking would work well with that tip! I’ve got an external monitor too but I like to stay as lean as possible with gear to save time and weight :)

A zoom lens sounds like it might work better for you. I hear good things about the Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 but it won't be amazing in low light and I've never used it!

I will definitely remember that monochrome one! Too bad the hyperlapse trick requires a gimbal, as I shoot all mine handheld. Thanks for the tips! From a fellow GHalex user :)
@ShotByMyles5 жыл бұрын
No problem at all! Don't forget the VFR hyperlapse one is fine for timelapses too if you can secure the camera somehow :)

can i use in camera LUT on standard or cine-d or cine-v?i understand you must have v-log to make it work .....but can you use it also on other picture styles?would be nice?as user luts are very easy to create.thx

I'm afraid not- as far as I know you can only apply LUTs to v-log... I agree it would've been useful!

Useful stuff...which grey card is that you're using there?
@ShotByMyles5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeff! I use the Datacolor Spydercheckr 24 which was decent value. Tbh it’s larger and less robust than I’d like... I think the x-rite color checker passport would be better for taking out in the field with it being pocketable, but it was approx double the price!

I am about to film a choir (indoor stage) with tons of tungsten stage light from above. What IRE should I have on the GH5 Wave Monitor? also, there are 40 of them ALL wearing black. Last time the black skirts and trousers were too dark (No detail) and overwhelming, yet the faces were almost blown. it's a bit of a conundrum as I can't add lights to the legs area to balance the Dynamics (?)
@ShotByMyles5 жыл бұрын
If you have no control over this lighting Rob, I don’t see how you can improve what you had before. I would also protect the highlights so that the faces are not blown out, even if it means the outfits have no detail. I can’t say what IRE everything should be, but I’d make sure there is nothing important overblown if possible. Definitely not faces!

400mb/s 4K All-I mode. Should I buy 300Mbps Class 2 or 170Mbps Class 1 is sufficient.
@ShotByMyles5 жыл бұрын
It needs to be at least a v60 card but I can’t advise on a specific one I’m afraid as I haven’t tried them.

Spiceler yes a v60 card has a minimum speed of 480Mbps which you need for 4K all-i

Ex-telephoto can be 4K or FHD on GH5 :) at 4K the quality is almost identical (demonstrated here) but FHD is a bigger crop with a quality hit.

One of the best videos on GH5. Your GHAlex videos are top notch. Can you share what kind of annd filter do you use in direct sunlight? My ridden vari ND gives me terrible blue cast.
@ShotByMyles5 жыл бұрын
That means a lot, thank you! Honestly I only have a cheap ND (Gobe) which is OK, but I hear good things about SLR Magic variable NDs. TBH I want the Peter McKinnon Polar Pro but it’s expensive!
