I wouldn't hesitate on carrying a 25 ACP for self-defense...25 over .22 lr .. they are about the same power wise.. but 25 is much more reliable also 25 hardball will penetrate hard surfaces much better than 22 long rifle.. so 25 is better for penetrating the skull for headshots and the sternum for torso shots..

I used to carry and still own a Beretta 950 .25 Auto. Once when bank fishing I to used it to stop a feral pit pull that attacked me for no reason. I just happened to put it in my pocket that day and had I not had it with me I do not know what might have happened. For the last 20+ years it has been the Kel-Tec P32. I fully trust it to fire, same as the Beretta, but like the fact that it carries a much more potent round and is lighter in weight too. Quite the definition of a win-win.

I wrote Keltec some 15 years ago and suggested they stretch the .32acp a bit for more power and have their own proprietary ".32 Keltec" in the thin-ness of the P32 frame with a 4" barrel option. Crickets. Enter the .30 Super Carry. Love my P32 with the CT laser in my overalls bib pocket.

My favorite? NAA Guardian .32 acp. - Will shoot any ammo unlike the Seecamp. - 10rd magazines are available. - Novak Tritium Sights are a potential option with their Custom Shop I think. - Heavier to handle 75gr Hardcast Buffalo Bore loads. - Slightly thinner than the Seecamp. The Seecamp is also well made. Just has other limitations. Like we all do . The Bodyguard 380 is also good. If stainless steel isn't your thing and you like .380. ( I suggest the 68gr Xtreme Defender non +P by Underwood) .

Another one of my favorite pocket pistols... One of the lightest ! 6oz unloaded ... Kel-Tec p32 ❤️.. mine is a first generation and I like the sights better on the first generation.. put a little orange paint on the front sight and the rear notch and I can hit up to 50 ft accurately with it... This guns trigger is not bad at all.. but to prevent rim lock you should load with full metal jacket only! Personally I installed anti-rimlock kits which were available through Kel-Tec and I carry Hornady xtp hollow points.... But you may want to just carry hardball instead for penetration!

Even the 25 autos convinced me, they would stop an intruder.

@@johnfaris5376 Yea any gun you fire in your home will leave you partially or mostly deaf,,,, that's the downside of a home invasion. But I always sleep with rubber ear plugs ,, same as I use at the range under my headphones. I'm easily waken by moderate noise and neighbors who mow their lawns at the crack of dawn,,, aholes. So that would give me a good deal of protection over not having anything to protect my hearing. Also I have multiple guns at my close convenience and quick accessibility from 9mm to .45, so having to shoot those in a closed in space at least I maintain most my hearing as long as the plugs don't pop out. I mostly carry my smaller lighter, less printing mini guns like my Taurus TCP .380 or once in a while micro Keltec p11 9mm in a number 3 Uncle Mike's pocket holster ,, no bigger than a wallet "sometimes" with either my Bauer .25 micro semi auto or NAA .22lr mini revolver as deep concealed backup. Other times its Only my Taurus TCP or Keltec P11 in pocket holster. Your odds of needing a concealed gun for self defense in daylight hours are literally a million to one, so why drag a 3 lb high capacity 9mm, 10mm, .40 or 45acp all day like an anchor in your waistband making your pants 2inches tighter and pulling down your pants every 5 minutes. Most attacks are in your home late at night when its dark, quiet and you're asleep! Unless you live or work and shop in a ghetto or shit neighborhood, daily armed assaults arent prevalent and a smaller caliber comfortable carry firearm are more than sufficient to thwart off an attack! But, a LOT of RAMBOS, will still want to carry a large, heavy, high capacity gun in 9mm, 40 or 45acp with 1 or 2 spare magazines, red dot sites, lasers or weapon lights and venture into the dangers of the outside world protected as good as soldiers off to war or cops, neither of which "Mostly", will ever have to pull their weapon to to shoot anybody. But that's their purgative. If it makes them feel safe from violent and deadly attacks when they leave home then go for it. And if carrying heavy doesnt bother them, theres no reason not to. The world is full of choices and with the way things are deteriorating coast to coast under current and past 2 years, maybe They're the Wise and Safer ones?!

My problem is, it's so hard to justify spending anywhere near 400 dollars on a mousey pocket pistol knowing I can get a canik elite sc for 400. @Chaplin But you're not comparing oranges to oranges. What's to justify in spending more for a compact pistol simply because you can buy a larger gun for same price or less? Just because the Canik is as much or less than the smaller gun, if you needed or wanted s smaller carry gun, that's what you buy, that's all the rationalizing you need in spending more for the smaller gun! Many times the good smaller guns are more expensive then their larger counter parts because they're more precision to fit their smaller size and a LOT of times are better They offer more comfort, more concealment and as long as your not going to be doing a lot of long distance competition target shooting or hunting WHY would you rather carry a HEAVY, and Uncomfortable, harder to conceal and manipulate bigger heavier gun? Dunno. To me it's like saying for the same price or less, instead of buying Corvette , I could buy a Bjg Gym shoe shaped Nissan MoronO. Whatever suits your needs. I have both, but my choice for daily carry will ALWAYS BE one of my small ones, smaller the better. Bigger Never means better!

@@michaelschiff2596 - Fair enough, let's compare oranges to oranges then, by using quality as the barometer. Name me a modern pocket pistol that costs more than the elite sc, that ALSO has a jump in quality over the elite sc to justify the higher cost. If you can't then you haven't countered my argument. Your car analogy plays into my scenario of quality. You're focusing solely on size when countering my logic, so I'll now keep it oranges to oranges with quality. Go! PS: If you've never used an elite sc then nevermind. Until you try it you'll never understand the value for money On a side note I actually did buy a Spectrum after all. You cant look up reviews, comments, or watch side by side reviews against other popular high end guns without finding the G2C beat them all in multiple areas. For the price, feel, features, ergonomics, accuracy, reliability with everything from cheapest Tulo steel cased ammo to the best defense ammo, plus P, etc, it eats them all up and spits them out. Several of the guys working at the range whom I know well are ex-NYC cops, they said the Seecamp is good for one thing..putting under a short table leg. I even sent it back to the factory explaining the issues, with video, and they “fixed” it. First time shooting it again the exact same thing happened, slide launched off the frame. Unfortunately Beretta has now discontinued the model 21 bobcat in 25 ACP 😢.. however there are many used ones on gun shop shelves for sub $300 price... The 22 is nice.. inexpensive practice but the 25 is more reliable.. and 25 hardball penetrates hard surfaces such as the skull and sternum much better than 22 long rifle..
@MA-lq6eb2 жыл бұрын
That's bcuz 25acp is quickly being discontinued...at least in the States...along with 32acp. Not enuff demand 4 them & 22lr was found 2B actually more powerful than 25acp at close range; bcuz of it's only slightly smaller size & superior muzzle velocity. 25acp = 800-900 fps 22lr = 1100-1350 fps

@@MA-lq6eb actually out of a short barrel there are about equal 22 being a little faster but 25 being a little heavier... And slightly larger diameter... The reason I state that 25 ACP is a better choice for self-defense in a Beretta pocket pistol.. I've seen many tests in the 25 and 22 are about equal power wise but 25 ACP with its full metal jacket is not only more reliable and more reliable feeding.. it penetrates hard barriers better than 22 long rifle... Fullmetal jacket 25 does not deform as easily when it strikes a hard surface like the skull

@@glenmones713 Were did u get that 22lr doesn't come in FMJ? In fact that's all I get for 22lr. Look up the company CCI...they are 1 of the premier makers of all types of 22. They have Mini Magnum, Velocitirs, Stingers, & a bunch of different HP rounds. BTW...22lr will penetrate skull bone EZ at close range...just ask the CIA & KGB...lol😉

I got a bobcat 22 lr ….shoots through 3/4 ply board and 2/4 s…..both at the same time……. Stays in front pocket as a backup for Glock 30 sf 😁

Fabulous gun especially considering its light weight and easy concealed carry in a front pocket. We own two but have had a third one on order with a local gunshop for over a year; I fear you are right - no longer available.

No pocket pistol, at the bare minimum, should be below .380 caliber. 9mm is the best choice, for pocket carry. The Kahr PM9 and CM9 are the best pocket pistols, you can buy.

Ur opinion...but not true. 22lr, 25acp, & 32acp can be just as stopping at close range & proper shot placement.
@LoneStarLawman2 жыл бұрын
@@MA-lq6eb Yeah, shot placement. Contact shot to the head maybe, but for concealed carry, in your average gunfight, I think your odds are very slim, with very small calibers.

My mouse gun is the Seecamp LWS-32 .32"ACP... bought it in the '80s and never had a single malfunction with it, to this day. I just love it, even though it's not very pleasant to shoot; but you can basically carry it concealed shirtless in your jokey-shorts, if you're into that sort of thing. :>0 Used to be my pocket EDC-backup for decades, but has been replaced relatively recently in that role by a SW642. Sure the 642 does not conceal as easily as the LWS-32, but I can easily hit targets at further distances with it, than those in your face witch are more what the LWS are meant to be engaged. So yeah. I still carry (and train...) with the LWS when nothing else will do, like: flip-flops, shirtless and swim-trunks around the house? Great info

I’m guessing the ‘80s ones are very different from the modern ones. IIRC they were made in a different factory then (CT?). Newer ones, including my piece of garbage one was made in MA.

1970s Bauer .25acp, all stainless and like new! Tiniest of them all, even smaller than the Colt 1908! Direct copy of the Baby Browning except all 100 percent stainless, making it able to stand the decades with no wear to the finish and rust proof. Only 4 in. long! Although the baby Browning is a hair narrower, the Bauer is a hair shorter making the Bauer the smallest,,, TINY.
