I think it’s brilliant that TMC are now offering a similar service to what we used to have at Hattons! Along with their already extensive range, such as weathering and re numbering and Naming! I wish them all the best and look forward to a bright future!!!👏👏👏👏

Thanks Jen, That was really interesting. Ive bought several New Locomotives from TMC over the years and always been impressed with the service and how well they are packaged and always arrive here in Australia in tip top condition. So Im thrilled to see the effort they are putting in to the second hand market. Lovely to see that some of the people from Hattons have landed back on their feet at TMC. As for a model kit to build? It surely has to be a spitfire, Im guessing most of us has an airfix spitfire in their past somewhere. 🤣

It’s wonderful to see what specialist equipment used to supply used locomotives.

I found this video extremely informative and interesting. I enjoyed it - and your style of anchoring it - very much. It is so very refreshing to see the process that TMC use in order to do what they can to evaluate and describe their pre-owned items as accurately and honestly as possible. Good to know they also repair items, where possible. Together with Clark Railworks & Rails, we modellers now have credible alternatives to eBay that reduce the risks when buying used items.

All TMC need now is the email alerts (as Hatton's used to have) that were sent to customers, when a desired model comes into stock that a customer added to a "wishlist". That feature was invaluable and saved trawling through hundreds of listings in the hope that a particular model was in stock and for sale.

Very good. That's taking it very seriously about getting quality second or third hand models to folks that want them. Some set-up with the camera booth linked straight to a pre-set listing on the website. Always worth hitting the refresh button. Heh, buying for a friend? Hee Hee! A great video about the inside workings of the reformed TMC and ex-Hattons Group Jenny. Thank you. Cheers!

I'd like to see you build the Airfix 1/72 RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat Starter Set as it looks cool and money from it goes to the RNLI ....(And its nearly OO Gauge)

Here's my issue.were expected to pay top price for new locos but when trading in you get offered a fraction of the original price.i know profit has to be made but how much. A few years back I traded an expensive 244.00 RRP loco with TMC. I got 50.00 .it was as new no marks on item or box .only a matter of weeks later it's on there site for the price of 229.00 if memory serves my right.that seems a bit harsh .however it's a good shop and staff are always helpful ...I just hope they don't get too big and lose the original family feel that the shop had.

Really interesting video to see so much of how a price of models is worked out through assessment .

Going off topic when referring to model railways. What is the correct terminology . As I've always said oo gauge not oo scale or o gauge n gauge etc . As some like I just pointed out say n scale etc. What your opinion Jennny ?

N 'gauge' when referring to locomotives and rolling stock - N 'scale' when referring to buildings and accessories...

Shame that many times ive gone on TMC ebay listenings and them put a lacklustre description expecting us too look at the pictures... that they haven't uploaded?... well how helpful.

Hi Luke, this 'out of sync' uploading is something we've recently addressed - we'd upload products in batches through software before the guys had a chance to take imagery, but should no longer be the case - onwards and upwards as always! H

I always try to get sound fitted models when purchasing a new locomotive!! Even a second hand locomotive can come with a sound chip and speaker!!

I’m a user of 00 gauge. The sad thing is that to change to TT or N would be a downgrade for me because I wouldn’t be able to lay out a layout.
