He attacked him so he could see how much he has grown for himself (also yuno WAS the one who beat mars) and make everyone else see how much stronger Asta has gotten. Asta and yuno are true rivals and brothers, it’s not a toxic death trap like Naruto and Sasukes rivalry. Also he isn’t a sore loser, he just didn’t want to be shown up by Asta when it came to helping the church.

At first, my thoughts on Yuno was like he would be like Sasuke and at the end, end up being jealous of Asta when he gets his magic. But when I saw their childhood episode, I realized how wrong my first impression on Yuno was. He just acts cold and distant from outside but inside he is big softee. I just hope writer at the end doesn't come up with any Sasuke edginess into Yuno's character. The fact that Asta and Yuno think of Black Bull and Golden Dawn team as their family shows how much those 2 care about the people around them.
