'does not honor warriors' is a WILD claim considering that what makes a difference between a warrior and a monster is that they are fighting for something tangible. A warrior fights, for resources, for safety, for goods, with the intent that they benefit those they associate with. A 'warrior' who would abandon the civilians they are supposed to be protecting in order to seek more fights or to seek their own advancement, is a monster, not a warrior. Especially when, in context such as this, a single human is literally as burdensome as a shopping bag with a glass jar in it, as far as 'slowing them down'.

@@purplefood1 From my understanding, Ork stuff work how they do because the Orks believe they work that way, they do have to follow certain rules, like shootas need to look like shootas and not like choppas. So can you really say with certainty that a Mek Boi couldn't make a grenade as strong as a nuke by putting a shiny green rock In It? (I am genuinely asking, because my understanding of Ork logic means they can, what's stopping them from just doing that would be the fact It's not as fun as what they are doing)
@purplefood19 ай бұрын
@@TaurusTheCrazyBull The ork psychic gestalt gives their stuff enough of a nudge to make it work but it won't just make it work out of nowhere it has some limits. It'll keep an engine running with bullet holes and dodgy fuel, it'll keep a plane flying with most of the wings and control surfaces shot to pieces, it'll even keep a shoota shooting when it should have jammed but it won't just make a grenade into a nuke without some tinkering. That said if a mekboy set out to make a football nuke and intentionally tinkers with it to do so adding extra bits then it may well be able to manage it without understanding anything about what they're doing but it's more than simply throwing an explosive and believing it's a nuke.

As "good" as the Ultramarines are, their priority has always been and always will be the objective first. They will minimise human casualties in every effort but they will never go out of their way to keep a civilian safe and/or rescue them(unless thats the objective itself). But this is what makes Salamanders so great.

@Arbaaltheundefeated I mean this is set during the hourus heresy, the remaining salamanders are basically one percent of their orginal legion strength and the ultramarines have not fared better taking around fifty percent casualties at calth but losing about the same number of astartes if not more than the salamanders. Not to mention the story is about am iterator trying to keep a planet from siding with horus and the two astartes are there to aid and protect him. The ultramarine understands his mission and what he needs to do, the salamander is blinded by prereunification tendencies that Vulkan wanted to remove, especially considering the ultramarines knows that the mission comes first as if the planet sides with horus, they are dead and that women will likely have died anyway in service to the traitors, if the planet sides with the Imperium their is still a chance it can hold out but the people will still face unrelenting war, but in service to humanity.

A warrior doesn't have to be known for JUST their bloodshed,nor by just their overall combat prowess its in that they protect and fight to keep protecting the weak as they are of the flock.

I remember a conversation from KOTOR between Carth Onasi and Canderous Ordo regarding the fact that they were on different sides of a war at one point. Canderous says that Carth would have been a fine warrior. Carth denies this, saying he was not a warrior, but a soldier. A warrior fights for personal glory and for war. A soldier fights to protect people from warriors. A soldier doesn't want war.
