You have to talk with A&K. This DAP would be awesome if there was the possibility of changing different kind of tubes contained in cartridges similar to old Gameboy games 🤩 It would be incredible!

Hello Bozilmaz8, Thanks for your question. Both the SE300 and the SP3000T are excellent DAPs both have differences so it depends on what you are looking for in the sound. The SE300 has a R2R resistor based DAC inside. This is back to the roots of Ladder DACs with newer technology. The sound is warmer (more analog) than the Sigma Delta DACs used in most current designs. It also has a Class A solid state amplifier section with it is also on the warmer side of the Solid State sound. The SP3000T has the latest and best Sigma Delta DAC chip set so it is more detailed and transparent in comparison. it also has the flexibility of running the DAP in full Solid State sound, full tube sound or in Hybrid mode that will give you the best of the two world. If you look for just a warm musical sound only the SE300 is a great DAP for that but if you want the best of flexibility and not wonder how a top of the line DAP will sound then go for the SP3000T. It is a personal decision but I can tell you I own the SP3000 (which has similar chips as the SP3000T but without the tube) and never looked back. Thanks, Jose.

People saying you cant tell a difference between a cheap DAP and a high-end DAP either haven’t listened to them, have good enough IEMs to Headphones, or are just mad they can't afford them and are trying to make themselves feel better by saying you cant tell a difference. The only thing that dosnt make as much of a difference are digital cables and connections. When it comes to analog signals, premium audio cables and DAC/Amps make a big difference. Different types of conductive metals and their purity dictate the quality of the signal and the speed at which the signal travels through the cable. Digital cables are completely different.

QUESTION: I have not heard the 3000, -- in your opinion, is the architecture of the 3000 vs. the 3kT really that noticeable or is it negligible ?

It depends entirely on how you will use the SP3000T. The Hybrid and Tube modes are very different from the SP3000. If you were to mostly use the solid state option on the SP3000T then the difference would be much smaller. The SP3000T in Hybrid mode has amazing warmth coupled with immense detail for the best of both worlds. They both well deserve top-of-the-line status. I was really expecting your review. For those 24 hours, 365 days a year users: Do you think that it will be posible to replace the tubes, or maybe change them for another similar tubes? Imagine changing tubes as if they were AA batteries!

All Tube replacements and Battery replacements can be done via AK Support. However, You wont run them out in a yr:)

You most definitely can lol. I listened to the a $200 btr7 on dac mode and the basso dx180 $500 a couple hours ago and I could tell the difference. I’m 23 so I guess my ears are still good

Why are these things so expensive for very little storage? You can say technology/chips and so on but that still doesn't answer the question of why these things are more expensive compared to the ipod classic release which just worked.

Why on earth would someone buy a $3000 DAP for wireless Bluetooth streaming? Bluetooth is compressed audio data. I would imagine most buyers are going to be listening via wired premium IEMs or headphones. I personally use the Chord Hugo 2 DAC/Headphone Amp for mobile use. I just use an app on my Samsung S24 Ultra to bypass the internal DAC and bitstream the audio to my Chord. I use my wired Empire Ears Raven IEMs.
