So glad I stayed with AMD Ryzen 9 and not Intel because now they are finding out that a lot of the crashes and bluescreens are not a Star Citizen problem but the Intel CPU is causing it. Thank you for the update and patiently waiting for it all to hit the PU. o7 😎👍

Lol, finding out? Nah, this has been going on for years. It began with the 12th gen CPUs. But using programs like Project Lasso helped resolve this, so Star Citizen runs as smoothly as AMD. So it hasn't been as much of an issue

@halashooligans Depending upon your current setup, I'm usually of the opinion that upgrading computer parts before the game is released is sort of a waste of money as we still have a few years left to go. Flight controls on the other hand will last a long time.

Another great video Hav0k. In regards to the upcoming asteroid bases/ contested zones - I think it might make for interesting gameplay to allow groups/orgs to take over these bases. Once an org is in control they would be randomly and continuously attacked by the same NPC gang that previously controlled it and other gangs. Plus other player orgs could attempt to control it as well. Condition for take over could be, no more enemies present (dead or fled), and central computer hacked.

Glad you enjoyed the video! That would definitely be a really cool feature. It may not happen right away, but that could potentially be added one day. Hopefully there's more features that will be added to 4.0 as well.

A LOT of the 4.0 stuff will get cut for a .x patch, all they truly need for a 4.0 release is Meshing, Pyro, Jump Points, Transit Refactor, Mission Refactor. Those are the 5 mandatory things if they can squeeze more in cool otherwise that will be the basic release

Possibly. But as Pyro had three fold as many locations, missions and pieces of gameplay than Stanton, it will be a pretty massive addition. But I agree, those 5 features are the most important for 4.0 to be successful.

Same actually. I'm not convinced we'll see it this week. Likely next week. And I'm betting that if 4.0 is still on track it will be put in Evo fairly quickly

Dude, I'm not going to lie. You put out great videos and deserve nothing but praise and respect! Too bad that CIG, on the other hand, can't be taken seriously. I went from a backer to a detractor of this game. I still follow up changes via youtube, but every time I install the game and decide to check it by myself, I regret it. It's still just a pile of garbage. So now I just warn new players not to be fooled by the cool cinematics, because you'll never experience that (plus the fact that the game is just P2Win). Being bluntly honest, if 4.0 (and Server Meshing) don't fix the lag/desync and add a MINIMUM of gameplay content, Pyro is going to be just another place to do nothing.

Glad you enjoy the videos! I honestly think that they get a bit too much flak, but that's largely because all of the players are essentially part of the testing staff. We see the worst parts of it because we're testing many of the barebones pieces of the game. Eventually that will no longer be the case and we'll be enjoying a better experience one day. It will just take time. And in regards to Pyro, everyone that tested it at CitCon last year said it's a whole other beast and Stanton is no comparison. It's filled to the brim supposedly

@@Hav0k Keep up the good work man. Honestly, I just subscribed to your channel as I'll follow the game development through you. But I don't see any reason to come back to the game in the short term, with 3.24 and what was promised so far (again, let's see if 4.0 changes that). Regarding CIG getting flak, I agree and I know it's not easy working on a game with such a broad scope. But I'm really not complaining about the lack of a round structure around the jump game, or posting comments like "BMM when? Polaris when?". I'm focused on key areas that ANY game (or demo) should have, even if your objective is to test balance/player behavior. I really think CIG needs to get their things together, especially when it comes to the gameplay. Otherwise Pyro will be just like adding more "Distribution centers", aka, large bunkers. - They claim they want multicrew, but the gameplay is the exact opposite of that - most dmg output is still slave to the pilot in most (if not all) ships, so it just make sense bringing more ships instead of bringing more people in your ship. - They claim it's not Pay2win, but the big guns ships (F7 mk2/F8) are behind paywall. - They claim engineering will give life to multicrew, but it will only add complexity to large ships - again, in favor of single-seaters. - They claim every ship will have its place in the universe, while the truth is that the bigger/newer, the better. If you have a F7Mk2, you don't need any other combat ship. If you have the C2, you don't need another cargo. If you have the Mole, you don't need the prospector. If you have the Reclaimer, no need for the vulture. And that's it! - Not to mention their "economy team", which is basically a dude changing price numbers on a spreadsheet. Lastly, we also need progression, in game achievements, reputation, etc... Right now, you can commit the worst crimes humanity can imagine and, after 20 minutes mining rocks, you are clean and ready to buy more guns from UEE-related shops. 🤣 All those issues I listed above will not be solved by adding more places / bunkers / planets.

@matuto1986 this is true in some regards. They do need to make ship choices matter so that we don't have one ship as the go to. After playing with the engineering mode in Arena Commander, it will actually be the first big change to larger ships and give them a purpose and make them more complex. Maelstrom, which has now been implemented in their development branch, will begin to bring forth armor for ships which will make it so fighters can't overpower larger ships and will instead need bombers to take them down. Pyro has a lot more different gameplay mechanics that will add a lot more, but we'll have to wait and see what all it adds. Lately there's been a lot of talk about StarSim which is the initial pieces of the economy. I'd rather have a guy adjusting spreadsheets every patch than nothing at all. Progression is definitely needed. And I'm hoping that it will soon be more of a core part of their focus. I appreciate you following and subbing the channel. I get what you mean, though. The game really isn't worth playing much at all right now.

I'm mind boggled that CIG still haven't gotten hangars fixed. Remember this was worked on for at lest 12 months. It was supposed to be in 3.23. I think we are seeing CIG struggle because most of the old senior devs have left the company. They may now have more devs but they lack the skills obviously. I guess we are stuck waiting on CIG to stumble upon the fix for our hangars. I have lost all confidence in CIG.

They haven't actually lost that many developers in the last few years according to their quarterly staff reports. They're likely just running into a very complex situation with the current state of the servers which they're working overtime to solves when they'll have a much easier time when server meshing hits. These things happen in development. It's an unfortunate fact of life.

The funniest part is that Hangars were already in the game, and they removed them. The whole thing is such a joke. No Man's Sky is gonna take all the players away with their latest patch.

@realtimbotube lol No Man's Sky will not take all of the players away. And yes SC had hangars previous, but they were not instanced or persistent like they are in 3.24. So the tech is not like what we used to have by any means

if they had instanced dungeons so you can focus on the PvE event without being trolled?? That will add a TON of new players in the game. But they need to be fun and have cool mechanics and easier time to get back on a wipe and not 30+ minutes to "try again". Of course you also need a way to ensure people do not troll your parked ship making you unable to return with loot someone can just take after you do the work. This is why full loot needs to die a painful death.

Been with the project for nearly 12 years. I've seen them evolve over the years and know where the project began and it's scope back in the day. If you watched the video in it's entirety, you'll notice that I did specify that they could remove features from 4.0 in order to get it out in time.

Hate to break it to you but this is a long proven strategy of them. Add more features to X.X and eventually release it with half of the original feature to begin with or delay it and cite “increased scope” as the reason.

I've been spending about 12 years watching the development of the game. This is well established. But there are plenty of people that are new to the project that don't know this. So, making the statement helps them understand that when it comes to how they add more features.

are they again adding so-called new content which is always bugged and unplayable because they say it's tier0 therefore it's ok but it counts as an update... none of it matters until they fix mastermode and make it real 6DOF they could add golden bricks and millions for everyone if ships fly like it flys now it's just doomed ...

MM will get refined over time, but they're definitely not going to backtrack now. They're committed to it and will make it better over time. And as the game is an alpha... it makes sense to not highly focus on bug fixing until most of the features are in. We're just the testers enabling them to create the game.

@@Hav0k thanks for answer, I just want them to make ships fly to be exciting, either full on Arcade fast speed no logic just boom boom fun or make it that it's 6DOF like it was so it's immersive, now it's mix it's none of what it should be and that's a problem... so i'm not sure if it's because of their EGO or what but as it is it's not fun and game should be fun... but it can't be somewhere between

@yashik I doubt it's because of their ego. I'm sure it was largely because it wasn't as accessible to the wider community, and now it is. Going forward, they'll need to start giving it more nuanced. It still very much has 6 DOF. It's just no longer a square model where strafing up, left and forward gives you more velocity, which isn't realistic, now it's more egg shaped. Still not as realistic, but it's better overall and will make for better gameplay once more refinements are made to make it fun.
