Remember when this clueless fanbase slated Emery for playing Torreira further forward? Good times. Emery realised ages ago that Torreira doesn't have the discipline, the defensive positioning, passing range nor the awareness to play as a 6 so opted to use him as a defensive, pressing forward. It was a tactical decision that our fanbase failed to grasp because rather than try and understand tactics, they'd rather sit and defend their favourites, not realising their favourites are a big reason why we're in this position Not saying Emery wasn't in the wrong because he was; just that he was unfairly scapegoated for our problems. A lot of our poor results this season is as much down to the players as it is to Emery

I would more just break it down purely man that Torreira, ozil aswell, don’t have the capabilities to play in a 2 in midfield, they need to be played in a 3, similar I think with Guendouzi, and that has been the main problem more than the actual role they’re playing, more the formation and where they are being deployed and who with. The current system doesn’t suit them but has made Xhaka into our best player since 2020 and Ceballos playing some, overall, great pressing and creative football and trying to dictate the midfield

I've been where you are so I'll offer my advice. Don't take victories like those against City or Liverpool too seriously, because there will always be a loss to Villa around the corner to make you look stupid. The amount of times over the years I've seen my team (Liverpool) go to OT, or the Etihad or the bridge and better teams way better than them is too many to count. But, there would always be a loss to Boro or QPR or Fulham just around the corner, because the team wasn't able to produce consistently, or was too reliant on one way of playing or 1/2 players. Arsenal seem to have a good manager, but you're years away from the title or from competing in the CL. Just enjoy the journey as much as possible

What we're seeing at Arsenal now is the metastasization of the cancer that set in not long after the "Invincibles" season. We've subsequently been a club whose biggest close season business, year after year, has been to sell our best and most valuable on pitch assets, replacing them with cheap and vastly inferior newcomers, if we've replaced them at all! As with any type of cancer, its existence wasn't immediately obvious as there were enough healthy cells left to compensate for the silent damage slowly being done and momentum continued to carry us forwards with apparently little effect , as long as we were still strong enough to finish in the top 4 then nobody much seemed to care. But little by little, we lost more healthy cells that in turn got replaced by inferior or defective versions and soon, finishing in the top 4 became the goal rather than the consequence, we knew we couldn't run quite as fast as we once could so we just adapted our ambition to suit our failing strength. As night follows day, it became gradually more and more difficult to get the 4th place spot and for the last couple of times that we did, we coughed and spluttered our way to clinging onto it. But relentlessly, the cancer grew and soon enough we were being held to ransom by the likes of Samir Nasri and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, players not worthy to lace the boots of a single "Invincible". Our top signings became Manchester United or Chelsea cast offs, or worse still, loan deals for players who were merely squad filler for other clubs. It was obvious that once we no longer had the strength to rise to the lofty height of 4th place that the deterioration would become more and more rapid, and so it has been! And now here we are, sitting 10th and about to finish in our lowest placing for a quarter of a century. And once again, the biggest transfer news in the near future is likely to be about the sale of our most valuable asset and the spiralling down continues. It's a hell of a long way back from here as it is but we still haven't arrested the freefall that we're in so who knows how much worse it's going to get first?!
