Rogers really really needs to work on his finishing! He's missing big chances when we really need goals. Another game without a clean sheet. Our abysmal defence is starting to be reflected in our league position. The failure to sign a right back is coming back to haunt us. We also have major problems in attack. Watkins out of form, Bailey desperately out of form, Rogers can't take chances, Ramsey not fully fit or back to good form, Philogene not up to it at this level, Duran also gone off the boil. No goals from midfield either anymore.

The fact people are annoyed and upset by the loss shows we have come along way I think. Away at a team who may well win the league and have won 9/11 games in league so far. We gave a decent account and there were quite a few positives. We look a top 7 team to me which is fine given all the ffp stuff. Lost Dougie who got 20 prem goals and assists combined. Also lost diaby who I think got 20 odd goals and assists in his overall game tally. Lost diabys genuine pace which is hurting as Bailey has been awful. So far. Last season bailey got 20 goals and assists in the Premier league. That's the facts. We lost two top players and also wvee lost baileys impact as hes been awful.

The changes i want to see agasint palace are the following Carlos dropped, Konsa back next to pau with ned at right back. If UE has no confidence in Ned then put Maatsen at RB he can play there. 2. Give Oli a rest and put Duran up top. Watkins has regressed to Gerrard days and is tame, no bite, lost half a yard somehow and has no cinfidence. Give duran a run of 2 or 3 games starting. See what he can do. Controversial. Id put Bailey on left as hes keft footed. Stops the checking back inside into 3 defenders and put rogers on the right and mcginn back in behind duran as top of the midfield. He closes down and cause midfiked a bit of panic when they have the ball.

We looked lost in the final third, Rodgers lost it so often. Should have had a penalty to bring it level potentially, but ultimately, we were outrun, out pressed, lost most of our duels. Anyone who watches villa regularly knows that this performance was a lot lot better. Couple of headers could've easily gone in. Watkins missed yet another decent chance. Rodgers should definitely score. Digne should do better at back post. Salahs goal avoidable was mistake I think by Carlos heading the ball straight at someone and salah breaks clear. Liverpool are a very good team and may well win the league. We were away so it was always going to be a tough game. Again we couldve come away with a point. Away at Tottenham we are winning 1 nil for 50mins and Watkins misses a 1v1 to make it 2-0. We end up losing 4-1. Fine margins in big games. League wise We've lost to Tottenham away and Liverpool away. Im not worried.

We got caught with two very good counter attacks, although the second was just a very unlucky header. But a much better performance all round. Lets use this International break to recoup, gather and come again. We haven't become a bad team overnight. What constitutes a FK outside the box doesn't translate inside It as the threshold is higher. Surely an experienced football fan should know this by now. You could argue that the threshold should be the same, but it has never been that way. It's set in stone more or less. Shirt pulls happen EVERY game. Forget every game, they happen every set piece. A much better performance overall,just let down by our final balls/finishing & not having a defender on the half way line when taking set pieces was criminal & cost us dearly for both Liverpools goals, but we looked more like a team with desire/effort & many positives can be taken from the game, Watkins still in poor form & maybe a change might be nesessary.... up the mighty Villa!!! 😁⚽✌️

Well we played with ten men yet again Bailey his usual standard then on comes a player who should be no where near men’s football the kid is so lightweight it’s untrue he just is not ready !didn’t expect a lot from this game just wanted to see something which we got .

Luke I completely agree, looked so much better overall, final third lacking but I’m in the same place, that result told me we will turn it around. As for table position it’s a joke, three points separate third and tenth atm. That said I think I will check out of football for the time being. Growing pains and not the end of the world but fans and pundits treating it like it is. Sick of the negativity as it’s exhausting. When we turn it around I’ll tune back in but for now I’m just done with negative Nancy’s in our fan base and other fan bases… absolutely exhausting but yes we will turn it around

We played better than I thought we would. Much better. Competitive is spot on, Luke. Refs can't be consistent for more than 10 mins at a time. Happens every week. It's a joke, like our defensive set up for their 1st goal; just not a funny one!

I feel like bringing Maatsen on earlier is a good move sometimes, he has pace to get in behind defenses and provides a different type of attack. But we still need to fix the final ball

Much improved performance, when we attack like that with pace and we are decisive teams struggle, Liverpool struggled. Sadly we haven't got that instinctive Vardy type to finish those moves off. Watkins for all his ability, isn't a fox in the box. We need that player. Hopefully in January Monchi and the management team will moves some out and get us a top right back and the fox in the box. I'm not hating on any player, but we've seen a few need moving on. I hate international breaks, this one might actually help us.

PSR prevented us from improving the squad, and we have now found out that Bailey is not consistent enough to provide us with the threat we need down that flank so what do we do. I think the departure of Diaby has done something to do with Bailey... Perhaps lack of competetion... Maybe Bailey wanted the move too?! Who knows, but we need to be better out wide as we surely can't keep trying to play through Rogers.

Anyone else worried about Rogers? He's great up until the penalty box when he just falls to peices. Compare with the brash super-confident Rogers of last season. Rogers is off it, Bailey is off it, Watkins is off it, Ramsey is off it, McGinn is off it. Under these circumstances we're doing remarkably well!

I’m gutted but I’m not 100% sure what you’re saying about the Torres “stonewall” penalty is right. As you suggested, it was a little shirt tug. At 1-0 we were well in the game still.
