I think the acting was insane this season, for all 5 main characters but especially our two leads. It has always been exceptional but this season, they knocked it out of the park. And the lake scene, the real emotions coming through kicking it yet again to another level. ♥

I loved what you said at the end! My friends told me, "Of course you loved the ending because they're together at the end." I accepted that my corny self was happy with that, but for me the best part of that ending was that I think the writers respected Wilhelm's journey for all of those three seasons. You know from the first minutes of the first episode that the royal role conflicts him and he rejects it in any way he can, so the fact that he finally chose to give it up because it's not what he wants was what made treasure the way they closed the show. I just recently started watching your reactions, and I did all of Young Royals in the last few days because I loved how expressive and loud Alex is and how quiet Josh stays but his face is telling you how he feels anyway. You guys are a super duo, you complement each other. Thanks for all the content you put out there and the discussions you have!!

There are interviews where Omar and Edvin talk about that Lake Scene: There was no script. They were told just to lie down, face each other, and talk among themselves as Simon and Wille. There also is a BTS video showing the scene ending, and Omar standing up, but Edvin really seemed emotionally spent for a good 10 seconds to get his bearings. It was the last bit filmed for the series, so they both knew that was it.
@annasporrong48457 ай бұрын
This was probably as close to a perfect ending as it gets! I was so proud of Sara and Wilhelm, I don't know what it is about this show, that makes me feel like a proud big sister! Also love how while Wille chose to let go of his hate for August, at least enough to pass on the throne and in it's own way it's August's punishment/karma, while he may regret his actions he did do some unforgivable things, and now he's going to be the one with the pressure of taking over the throne, which he might not even want anymore, since his talk with Nils and Vincent
@corpeter7 ай бұрын
yes agree. and he wanted to run of with Sara. So now he cannot have her, she choose her family, her friend and herself. And Wille being responsible by being true to himself letting go and passing on the crown got everything he wanted and his love back. So yes it was August karma, in the end he did not get what he really wanted only what he thought he did and now he has to live with the reality what wearing the crown or title of crown prince actually means. He has to actually take responsibility, something he so far never did , apart from the last actually heart felt apology. So it is new and might not be as he imagined it. So Karma indeed.
@annasporrong48457 ай бұрын
@@corpeter Yes all of this! And we've seen examples of August being capable of being good, and now if he takes to what the therapist said and improves himself and how he treats others he might actually be worthy of that title some day, as well as Eric (I'm choosing to believe Eric may have been a part of the elitist bully culture in school, but eventually grew up and became a better person)
@corpeter7 ай бұрын
@@annasporrong4845 yes I do believe the same, also what you said about Eric. In the end, all of them still have a lot of growing up to do. And lets face it, Wille is still a prince and a public figure that will never go away. Only that now he can think of what he wants to do himself to an extend and if he chooses, use it for something he wants, and maybe for once will have the support of his parents. And both him and Simon still have to improve communication and dealing with being in the eye of the public - but with the new found common ground, they can make it. Both need therapy after what was happining in only a few short month. But I choose to believe, they can do it and they can grow together, individually and as a couple. This is my wish for them - even though they are just fiction. But this is what stories are for - what the viewer take from it and how they grow by proxy. 😋😉 at least it is for me.

22:01 Many people laughed at "Then that is your heir" scene when August was shown, but I loved it. It panned to him, right after implicating that he's the next King, as he holds his friends and places a kiss on Nils' head as he celebrates with them. That moment he was shown as such a loving friend and caring leader. I don't mind that being the head of state, if you ask me. He has a long way to go, but he's a good kid, deep down.

"it's not the love of your life when you're 17, you're being dramatic" so that's that for romantism 😅 That apology from august was closure yes, but for Wille only, Simon never get to hear it (that we know of). "Where was their self love all this time?" Well that's kind of one the point of this show, finding self love.❤🩹 Even if Vincent is a supportive friend for Nils, I really don't think I can stop hating Vincent. "Can we forget everything that happened for tonight" > "even and isak, minute by minute", skam/YR parallel are everything ❤ That lake scene 😭😭 S1 ep1, one of the first things Wille tells his mother is "I don't want this, why can't I have a normal life?", S3 ep 6, one of the last thing Wille tells his mother is "I don't want this, but here is soemone who (thinks) actually do". That show!!! Yes first happy fourth wall 🥰😍🥲

Just as Wille could not come out in Season 2 until Simon accepted it had to be a secret, Wille could not abdicate until their relationship was closed and it was only for himself. I agree with everything Alex said at the end! I think I would've been happy with any kind of ending as long as they respected the characters (and especially Wille and his struggles with being Crown Prince because it's clear from the start that he doesn't feel comfortable being royal), but of course since I'm painfully single and very queer I wanted a happy ending and it was perfect. Also loved seeing Sara and Felice fixing things and Felice realizing that maybe she doesn't fit in with her friends, or that they aren't actually such good friends as she believed. The four of them leaving in the car made me so so happy because they all deserve a break after everything they have gone through Loved your reaction as always guys!

I went into this finale legitimately not knowing if they would end up together. In any other series I would have been certain that they would get a happy ending but YR often goes with reality over “happily ever after” so I was anxious the whole time. I do the Wille giving up the crown for himself makes the most sense because from the first episode before he was even the crown prince, all he desperately wanted was a normal life and now he has it. I think the finale was perfect and I couldn’t imagine a better ending than that.

Wille take long to give up on the crown bc he was scared to disappoint his family and he used to think that he had to do it for Erik. The responsibility of being the crown prince was conflicting with their love and since Wille finally gave up on it there was no reason to not go after Simon, they can finally be free together

Well, this is the ending the creator wanted, and it is consistent with Wilhelm's character throughout. He was clearly stressed by the prospect of being king, a role he never anticipated, and which caused his nervous ticks etc. So, August, will be king instead, but I'm disappointed by this outcome and in Wilhelm because I think he had the potential to be a good king. I know he's only, what? 17 years old? So, he's still a boy, and maybe I expect too much. That said, I hoped he would mature and realise that as a member of the Royal Family he had duties and responsibilities. Duty not just to his mother, the Queen, or the Monarchy but to the Country. That kind of duty often means you have to subordinate your own wants and desires to that of your overall role in society. Yeah, you could say he realised he wasn't up to the job which is why he did what he did. However, it's clear he just wanted to be with Simon and that was essentially incompatible with being king. The ending puts me in mind of Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, actually. I am curious how things turn out for Wilhelm and Simon, though.
