My late grandfather was a member of the Palmer Land Expedition. He brought back an arm from an automaton that he destroyed in the tunnels. My dad hung it in our basement, and when my dad passed I got it. I'm looking at it now as I write this in fact.

I used to go visit Kate Bouchard, the scientist who designed the automatons balance system. We’d share a vodka and she would tell me stories of the early days of testing and development. She was really proud of her work. One night, just before she drifted off, she said, “ it wasn’t unexpected..”. She passed away two weeks later and I was never able to ask her what she was talking about. I miss her. Thank you for sharing this with us

My great Aunt Tessie drove Class VII infantry & surveillance automata for British forces during the war. On her death bed she claimed that the Antarctic expedition was doomed from the start. The proof she maintained was the discovery of the automata relic of the 1913 war being found by exploratory forces. It could only have gotten there by help from humans…or automata that could pass as human!!!

My Great great Uncle survived the battles in America, sad our modern media covered up and erased everything, I even still have an old Tintype photo passed along with his belongings. They called him a crazy moonshiner but back in those days he was saved by his far automaton "stout" and I have the fragile remains of a photo of them together. I'm so glad you've recovered these historical archives!

An amazing concept. Images meant to look like film from 100 years ago have been very cleverly executed. The lighting reminds me of the old film King Kong. I hope that a full length movie will be produced. These techniques could be used to re-create the classic 'War of The Worlds' set in the late 1890's. I'd buy that DVD. Five stars!
