My favorite bot reference is the Bloodborne Hunter because GIVE ME MORE BLOODBORNE SONY/FROMSOFT! But I also love the bots that radically change the shape of the bot style, so shout out to the Prince from Katamari Damacy. This was my favorite game of the year by a wide margin, and I remember thinking after playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth that nothing could touch that. This game was just joy personified, I had the biggest dumbest grin on my face the whole time. I was in middle school when the PS1 came out and devoted to gaming, so I've been part of the journey of the Playstation this whole time, and this game showed so much love for that history. This run was amazing, I'm so happy to see this game at GDQ and to see how quick it already is. Thank you for what you do, runners, staff, and donators. HYYYYYPE!

I don't play many modern games, but this seems incredibly fun. Thr mechanics are great, the visuals are fantasticly fun while also showing off the power of the PS5; it's just an entire vibe and it passes. Plus the callbacks to so many other franchises is a nice touch. I'm really happy that something this happy got Game of the year over the very soulless feeling most AAA games have anymore.

This is Sony exclusive since it came first as a demo game for PS5. It is specifically programmed for the PS5 controller and all its specific functions. There will be no Steam version.

It was a big debate in the community when the game came out. The vast majority favored the ending on final hit rather than touching heart or finishing credits mostly because it felt right to end upon a massive fast-paced battle that will ultimately decide what time we get. The 3 min cutscene and 4 min credits (which are extremely forgiving when dying) really slowed down the pacing and ruined the run ending excitement. Many other factors were discussed, but that seemed like the biggest

During the frozen meal stage though its mentioned that death stranding and beyond two souls are made by the same guy and everybody just casually agrees? Shadows of the Ehrtree shouldn't have been nominated, I'll agree to that, but it was a bloody good dlc, and being honest here, if they had released that as a 40 dollar standalone could easily be in the conversation for GOTY, though it would still go to Astrobot.
