As someone who doesn't watch the awards or play any of these games it still baffles me that a game that looks like a ps5 mobile game ad won over a game that looks like wukong lol

Its not about astrobot beign a bad game, its about absolute peak games, absolute bangers loosing to this game and this game being a direct Sony project. Again, this might be a good game, but to me it looks like that at this point its about Sony making up all of this for some reason, considering how much they fucked up furing this year and overall Sony downfall.

this video just hits me where t hurts wow there are always so many things to vote on in the gameawards it just makes me feel like i am stupid sometimes or uninformed. Like i own fantazio but i haven't played t yet , i know the work behind wukong but i haven't played t, i know how good stellar blade looks and how high people praise helldivers but i just haven't played t . there are things here and there that i do feel don't belong at the gameawards but at the end of the day ts about everyone not just one persons views who are entirely biased. and even then whoever wins just gets bragging rights at best for something most people are pissed of about aniway i am going to pick up stellar blade and black myth wukong eventually and see how far my dumbass can get XD also everyone seems to be so mad at astrobot for being an advert and i'm just here like ... but its a cute silly fun game one ? i miss funny and cute adverts like the skittles adverts :( now ts just just whatever the hell those mobile game adverts and apology gacha game adverts are supposed to evoke

Problem is that Astrobot isn’t really a game as it is a advert for the success of Xbox and their industry. It’s like a mobile ad winning Game of the year, one which didn’t put in work or creativity to be something else, and is instead, a game that rehashes older games to be something better, without itself having an identity. If you spend years, or millions of dollars to create a good game, one which takes old aspects, and makes a name of the genre, only for it to lose to a game that uses less creative ideals, and is basically a gacha for older titles, wouldn’t that upset you? Untitle goose game, that’s a good game that was nominated around the 2020 game awards, and personally, one of my top ups, since it was a game that was fun, simplistic, but also just entertaining. That’s a game with a low funding, but still good even with that knowledge, same with hollow knight. How does that differ from astrobot? Simple, *they’re a multi-billion dollar company with more funding and time.* Astrobot is like those games, but feels almost like a sellout due to it being the same things as the past releases, as well as being redo’s of past things, which while simplistic, doesn’t have the ingenuity of current titles. I have a very stronger belief that if astrobot was just a single-release, and didn’t have references to older titles like Bloodborn or sekiro, it wouldn’t have won, since while it’s gameplay isn’t bad, people came for the references, which really does tell, and make the game feel like a cope-out for something better. (If you play the newest Kirby game, it’s like that, but with multiple references, which kinda disappoints me ngl.) People were mad at ballaytro winning mobile game, since especially the gacha community was hoping HSR or WuWa would, and people were mad at Astrobot winning. I understand both sides, and the fact that HSR has Ballatro in it’s current event just adds to the comedy of it winning mobile game. (Even if it’s just a card game.) But I do get why people are pissed at astrobot: Since this happened, what’s stopping other companies of just reusing old assets of older games to also do this? What happens if more people do this instead of making new and original games? Or hell, even moving the innovation for more platformer ideas. This sets a bad precedent and just ruins gaming as a whole if it stays the status quo, since it might end like Triple A studios, and makes the whole awards redundant and meaningless, as every game afterwards could just be shit games, and win game of the year, and if they don’t have to be creative or original, what stops someone from doing this next year? Like astrobot is fine, since it’s a ok game, but imagine if it wasn’t and it still won. That would be one of the worst things to have happen since AAA studios became shit at new releases. You get what I mean?

@@heilamwether8911 i feel like you want me to hate astrobot for being uncreative but i also get the sense you just really hate t based on t having those references im not sure if my previous answer showed up or came trough but like astrobot does have a history a history of being a tech demo studio tech demos that should be installed on your ps5 and ps4 by default theres a vr tech demo for the psvr1 too most of the gameplay in astrobot was just more of what people liked about the techdemos that doesn't make t less of an advertisement thats what it is at ts core but its also just slowly becomein gmore then that

really good take Astrobot deserve for praises it gets but why everyone treats this as second comming? If anything encourages sony to capitalize on nostalgia dosen't making with nostalgic ips that much on it's own Now he won game award with suppose to be special on same game awards they nominated expansion pack and something close to decade ago pokemoon go won such reward becouse who cares This becomes basicly full circle And i kinda backing you up about black myth
