I have an ergodox keyboard at work, it’s great! Like your V keyboard but sawed in half (probably extra appealing for 🐶) The keycap swap looks great, a few people on the discord have swapped theirs too

Thanks for that. I did have a "sawn in half" keyboard for a while, which was lovely, but I wore it out, and I have to admit, having the keys fixed on the V frame makes it a little easier to set up every morning. I'm not convinced about the key-top swap yet. I'll have to try to use it a bit more to make up my mind!

I replaced key caps, like you. but rolled back. travel felt unnatural, longer, and I kept bottoming out. kudos to Astrihaus for the key cap design, which is perfect ergonomics for my lap. YMMV. the company is tone deaf on issue of readability of the medium font, however. a serious fail about which they are obstinate and defensive.

Glad you said that about the key-tops. I am having the same impression, and think I will be copying you and returning to the original ones.. It doesn't feel quite right, does it? Have to admit, I'm getting better with the medium font - small is just a no-hoper for me, but the medium, in daylight or good lighting in my office, is fine now.

Never again!.-my freewrite has become unusable (already! 18mts old only) keyboard faults galore! randomly types = - and `non-stop. cursor right does not work now either. Only able to type if I type really quickly loads of keys. So angry after spending over £400. Their support is a joke. sorry for being negative - I feel totally ripped off.

That's a real bugger - I have to admit, I have heard lots of comments positive and negative about their support. I've never had any issues myself, but I guess it's an issue for smaller companies growing quickly. I recall lots of comments in a similar vein when I worked for Wang Labs when they were small. I'd keep trying to get a resolution, though. The last thing any firm wants is dissatisfied customers. I remember reading that Dan Leatherman insists that any customer who has a broken blade or damaged screwdriver etc on his tools, will always get the broken item replaced for free, because he reckons the best advert for his tools is that all look to be perfect.

Hi, it is so dissapointing as i loved my traveler. I am back tnow to my mechanical bt keyboard and a chrome tablet....oh well, you live and learn...Cheers@@writerlywitterings
