That was a lovely video Ben, thank you for taking the time to bring us along by making it! - you summed it up nicely really mate, definitely not a fail at all! The 3m sub was really promising btw, can't wait to see what you've got planned there! Thanks again for all the effort you put into these, it shows! All the best mate, Luke 👍👍

Thanks a lot Luke. I wasn't sure how the video was all going to turn out, I had not planned for the second night really and there was a lot of unknowns for me. That 3 min sub got my little brain ticking shall we say. It's amazing how one small thing can inspire you to do other stuff and now looking forward to planning something, Bit of work though, so see how it goes. Thanks for the support. Take it easy mate!!!

Stockton, Middlesbrough, Billingham.........many a night out there when I was based there (Billingham) for 2 years during my apprenticeship in the early 90's! And no, even on the nights that do not go to plan are not failures, they all add to the hobby, and just been out trying things is a learning opp! Cheers, Ben!

Thanks Dave It all adds to the excitement and experience I think. I'v always tried to get out of the comfort zone but does come with a cost of not going so well sometimes. But you never know unless you give these things a go. I have worked all round this area in the last few year. Very busy and lit up like a Christmas Tree at night.

Great video Ben, I had a fun time watching because I could tell you had a fun time being there and thanks so much for sharing your experience with us all! By the way, I also use a 90D and the same lens you do for making my videos, so I'm in great company! Awesome Milky Way shots, love how you can see the North America and Butterfly Nebula in them from Bortle class 5/6.

Thanks very much Joe. I'm really Glad you enjoyd the video. I love my 90d, I don't think its a bad camera at all, some nice features on it. I was so happy to see that much in the image with such a short focal lengh and only one 3 min shot. A nice surprise.

Thanks DSH. Saw some real beauties come in, it was a nice couple of nights, Just a shame I didn't capture them all. Great thing is that it's an every year occurrence so hopefully you will get out next year or capture some of the other showers. All the best!

Hmmm that's given me an idea to set up my sky tracker in the garden to do some long exposures, I did try it before in a field near where I live to get the heart & soul nebula using a modified 1100D with a CLS filter but got nothing so maybe aiming straight up is the way to go.

It seemed to do the trick Tich. I have done this composition before with that lense but never as long as 3 min exposure. Also the Moon was not out so that would have helped. I would give it a go, nothing to loose.

Thanks for uploading. I got the chance to witness a rocket launch in 2018. Unbelievable experience. I uploaded a pretty cool montage of the journey to my page.

Every night is a win.. especially if something is learned :) That was an impressive shot in your backyard. What bortle scale are you in?

I was gob smacked I got that single shot from my yard James. It's the higher end of the Bortle 5 next to a town centre. Always surprising me this hobby.
