I am Spanish and I feel that the Asturian is closer to Spanish than Asturian is to Mirandese, despite all been Asturleone languages. Mirandese is extremely influenced by Portuguese.

Actually, the Asturian language is the one that is extremely influenced by Spanish. I'm a Portuguese speaker and Mirandese is very different from my language, because it still have it's own vocabulary, differently from Asturian that has absorbed a lot of Spanish words.
@oigolueb Жыл бұрын
It's the fact that mirandese is influenced by portuguese and asturian by spanish, also, the asturian dialect used here is central, the occidental dialects (also spoken in león) are way closer yo mirandese

I'm always weary of comments like yours with a lot of likes in channels like these, because one might believe they express reality.......but I doubt that is the case. The real truth has to come from someone who knows the languages in depth, and both spanish and portuguese, and is not biased towards any "narrative".

Mirandés is an Asturleonese language, and Galician my mother language is too. They're Part of the Asturian-Leonese continuum, all the way to Portuguese Mirandés suffered heavy Portuguese influence, because it's mostly spoken in Miranda do Ouro in Portugal. While Galician suffered a lot of Castillian influence, although Galician is a different language from Spanish and basically almost the same language as Portuguese. So today Mirandés sounds Portuguese although it's closer to Spanish, while Galician sounds more Spanish although it's closer to Portuguese. funny how that works 😅

I am a mirandese speaker, born in the area, and I find that the person who reads mirandese has a very portuguese accent. Perhaps he is not a fluent mirandese speaker. For me, the comparison with asturian seems distorted.

Don't be fooled by Asturian or Mirandese, both are from the Portuguese subfamily. Even more so if you take the ancient past, modern medieval are far from Spanish. Castilian has brotherhood with Navarro, Andalucian Senabrico, Canareño, these are the subfamily of Spanish. Be safe, hugs.

Son bastantes entendibles, pero como hablante de asturiano, muchas frases básicas parecen fáciles en este video... pero hablado por verdaderos hablantes nativos es más difícil, incluso a mí que se supone que sé asturiano me cuesta entenderme con mi abuela que sólo habla asturiano occidental (aparte que el occidental es el más único, y es más parecido al mirandés)

@@fueyo2229 Of course. Why do people keep assuming they should be understand a language that is similar without ever having heard it before? Galician and portuguese, for example, ARE the same language.......but without understanding vocabulary or having heard portuguese before.......and galician in 8/10 of cases won't readily understand a portuguese person. The problem is people then use this, to say the language is not the same. That's not how it works.

The pronunciation of mirandese is, of course, spoken by a portuguese speaker, so it sounds more familiar to my ears. I’m brazilian. To read the situation is reversed. Asturian is easier to understand. Spanish is easier overall than both
@shutapp9958 Жыл бұрын
I disagree. To my ears, Mirandese sounds more Portuguese-like and I could understand it more, besides the vocabulary is closer to Portuguese. Also, the accent doesn’t seem that bad
