I know this case too. The customer sends the device on Monday, it arrives on Tuesday morning, and in the afternoon they ask whether it has already been inspected and is repairable. Yes, of course, I've been sitting here without work, just waiting for his device...

as i'm sure many don't know; Sockets are replaceable, not worth the money on low-end Mobo's but a Z class chipset like the one in the video is well worth it the socket itself costs 20 $ from china and is a BGA component

Straightening pins is probably one of the more nerve-wracking things you'll ever do. Mainly because not only do you only have so many tries. You can only move it so fast. If you slip or just put too much force into it. You'll snap it right off. Ask me how I know.

1:20 I advice to heat a little area where the bend pins are. I think some about 80 degrees Celsius should make the job easier making pins softier and also more resistant to break. This is from my personal experience
