Type in the following command (in one line), and press Enter afterward: powercfg.exe -attributes sub_processor perfboostmode -attrib_hide After you’ve made the settings visible, you can find the new option in the Advanced Power Options dialog.

If you want to keep Temps low gaming, do the registry edit and Armory Crate to Windows Mode. Performance and Turbo mode have stock overstocks that override. Many games are different so you'll sometimes need the cpu boost hence you can just switch in Armory Crate and keep on gaming.
@PopaSergiuMihai2 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! I changed it for Silence and Balanced, but apparently while gaming was auto switching somehow to Performance, which was hidden, so did not see results initially. Maybe other people that are not seeing result have the same thing going on and did not notice. So also on performance mode i disabled boost and wow, in cinebench and other cpu stress test, cpu temp never goes above 67 degrees, and while gaming, cpu and gpu never go above 74 degrees (previously 80+ degrees, even 90 for short spikes)!

@@MikeMu okay thanks... Don't think I'll be able to do that anytime soon😂😂... So the update now after running around KZbin asking this same question is that my silent mode wasn't working right... Mainly cuz of that software defect Asus have (someone mentioned so) of when you switch too fast or too frequently between silent and performance or windows... So you have to like select silent turn off the computer on it again wait for a few minutes then leave it on or something I didn't really understand but the fix I used was that I activate silent then sleep my system for like almost two days I repeated this procedure so now my silent mode works normally with wifi internet only like 3 hour drop which is normal depending on what I'm doing it's lasting 4hours 30mins with browsing so I'm kinda happy at least

Why wouldn't you just go into Armoury Crate and run in Manual Mode with a wattage cap? You can even use the crate's resource monitor to track clock speeds and temperatures. My fan curve is usually maxed at 60% at 80C and I get about 10% better FPS than in Turbo mode. Depending the game it will use either a couple cores at 4.2 GHz or more, or go heavy multicore at 3.5-3.7GHz with lowered temps and fan noise. It goes as low as a 15W cap so you can find a sweet spot for power savings and lowered temps in any game, and it takes 10sec to change by hand at any time.

Also one more question. Is it alright to play the g14 while charging for the whole day? If it’s bad is there a way to make it stop at a battery percentage?
@passintogracegoldenyearnin63103 жыл бұрын
@@brandonhernandez3995 It's not that bad to stay plugged in even for weeks, but yes limiting max charge would be good then. MyASUS has a charging limit option, I have mine set to 60%. Which is about 7hrs of reliable screen-on time for me with Firefox, Silent Mode, iGPU Mode, brightness half and sound and wireless on. Depends how hard you push it. To your other question, my favorite wattage in Manual mode is about 25W CPU. But even as low as 15W still usually shows clocks above 3GHz which puts you above disabling boost.
@brandonhernandez39953 жыл бұрын
Pass Into Grace Golden Yearning and if I do that but it’s still charging while it’s at 60% the max battery life won’t be messed up right?

Just go to Armoury Crate, Manual Mode, reduce max CPU wattage to like 25W. Then make sure the fan curves for CPU and GPU hit like 60% at or before 80c. Then hit apply. Open your game again and compare. You'll still have some boost and the cooler CPU may take some heat off the GPU also.
@user725793 жыл бұрын
86 c?!?! Im geting 95 c on warzone low settings
@passintogracegoldenyearnin63103 жыл бұрын
@@user72579 Still trying to understand this....it's almost 200GB, badly optimized and runs like a pig even on med-high end PCs (g14's about middle tier gaming hardware) due to being CPU limited. The most common fix people mention on the g14 (2020) is to limit CPU to 3GHz which cools you down by being so slow it also limits your GPU usage. On the 2021 model you have Manual option which allows you to limit watts on CPU and let it decide how to use them, which lowers temps and sometimes increases FPS. And the GPU settings include both overclocking and underclocking (Power Saver slider). And you have reliable, manual fan controls you can set. If anyone wants to play Warzone on a 2020 g14, yes they should look at disabling CPU boost and/or underclocking the GPU in MSI Afterburner to control temps. If anyone wants to play Warzone on the 2021 model they should be able to do it with some fiddling in Manual mode, no registry edits or third party software. Armoury Crate also has a nice resource monitor buried in the System tab, with up to a 10min history of whatever stats you want displayed. (temps, clocks, usage % etc) And the monitor lets you record and replay sensor history so you can see if your speed dropped due to overheating.
