Hello everyone, and thanks for checking out my Computex coverage! There are probably more than a few of you who have been keeping up with the ASUS RMA situation, and I know it wasn't addressed in this video. But I have talked to multiple ASUS reps this week and it is something they are taking very seriously -- ASUS is a huge company and none of the designers, engineers and other contributors to their portfolio of products want to see their efforts tarnished by a poor after-sale support reputation. If you would like to hear some of my more direct opinions on the issue and ASUS' initial response, I recommend checking out the May 19 Tech News - kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6i8n2mffbdreLs That said, Computex is always about new and upcoming products, so that was our focus, and I hope we can all find a balance between keeping ASUS honest with their RMA support, and doing what we really love to do -- geeking out over PC hardware.

Paul, this just shows how professional and great you are! Compared to some other content creators who would just skip or ignore the Asus booth, you have the courage to go and cover it. There are people out there (like myself) who have never had any issues with Asus and would be interested in the upcoming products. I love your Computex videos every year! Keep up the great work!

You've got to make the distinction between gear that makes you money, and gear you use for an hour every evening to play some console port you got from Sony because you're suffering from the privilege of living in a country where they'll let you play it and are too ignorant not to buy console ports. Sure if there's a very unlikely failure, you might have a warranty issue. But the idea that you think LFP batteries need to be replaceable just tells me that you have zero idea what you're talking about. And come on... do we really need modular UPS for home use? It's a good quality UPS designed to look like Mjolnir for pities sake. It's not for a server cabinet in a game dev companies office. The step up from this is to get a Tesla Powerwall or one of the dozens of alternative companies that make them. And guess what? Yeah, those are mostly LFP batteries now and they all buy their cells from companies that make LFP which is the most reliable battery cell of high density we've got to date. If you're worried that this will only last at least ten years, you are not assessing it correctly.

It's hard to be hyped for new Asus' products. High prices, meh build quality (like fuses been built straight upside down), default configurations ignoring third parties recommendations that blow up and straight up kill other components (yes, talking about the 13th and 14th gen Intel chips), and when they fail... they will refuse to repair it or try to scam you inventing new flaws that require more money in repaired or new components, or even threat you with sending back your product to you disassembled and not working if you don't pay for those invented flaws, like Gamers Nexus complaint about the Ally. And on top of that they "apologise" blaming us consumers for "not understanding how they work". You are a wonderful person, JJ looks like a very good fella too. sorry but that bendable screen is really cheesy and pointless.... the screen looks great, but it would have been nice to see some video on it... maybe a gif type animation that plays when you close/open/bend the screen.... but is far as a pic that just bends a little just seems stupid.... and it doesn't even hide any of the cables or tubes... (maybe I just need to see it in a built system) - - - now if this was on one of the new CAMM2 mobo's and was longer and bent down then then bent along the motherboard and over the RAM module (of course with it's own heatsink I would expect) it would be flowing from the AIO/CPU down and over the RAM.. THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!!!! (that's if ASUS is making a CAMM2 board/line.. which I think they should... people want new stuff... and with higher speed and it's flat along the plane of the motherboard people are gonna want it!! - but since there is only 1 module at a time on the mobo, ASUS could make the modules and when people want to upgrade from 24GB to 48GB ASUS should have a buy-back program because you can only use 1 at a time.... that would really help people A LOT to adopt the new standard... this way there is a used market from a prominent company taking the initiative - and there is A LOT that can be done with having that extra space available.. I REALLY HOPE ASUS TAKES ON THE CHALLENGE!!

What I was hoping for was an eGPU based on XG Mobile or pure Oculink, that would accept any card I want. And for the Z Flow 13 to get an update to Snapdragon, or the next AMD processor. Maybe they're holding that back for 50 series cards though. I'd like the eGPU to become how I use any graphics card card, so the gigantic things can sit in a separate box with their own cooling, and we just cable them in like other peripherals. Thunderbolt and USB aren't as good as Oculink, XG Mobile is Oculink + USB so I'd love to see that, or some future iteration, become an open standard as that's healthy for right to repair and it publicly humiliates Apple and their anti-consumer obsession with Lightning which continues to this day (Vision Pro). I don't care about the aesthetics of BTF boards but I still don't understand why we're not talking about how much easier it will be to pick up your cables from your PSU, or plug them in, and then stick them in the back, which is unobstructed by RAM, CPU, coolers, GPU, and oodles of heatsinks. Surely that's the true benefit for those who don't worship at the alter of RGB, Ferrari, Apple and console gaming? Yes, I'm basically saying if you're into from over function, you go in the same box with all those Luddites and I weep for your therapists dealing with your massive ego issues.

Writing this about midway into the video, and frankly I couldn't be more unimpressed about the new stuff ASUS is putting out there, coming from the great-looking GT302. I strongly prefer minimalist design, and right now looking at the flex/motorized OLED display, I'm mostly puking in my mouth tbh. Maybe this kind of tech could be useful somewhere, but I don't think a gaming computer is it. It's also bizarre that JJ is asking about whether you need a shroud or smth around their concept ITF BTF chassis (and I still appreciate that they're pushing the design envelope here) - if like me you had a curious cat or any kind of free animal in your place you wouldn't need to ask (and yes my cat jumps on my desk all the time even though I prefer to keep my case on the ground, at least for my desktop). Still not a chance that I'd get that anyway, as what I'm seeing here is just a continuation of the worst trends of the industry which treats PCs a bit too much like aquariums for my taste. There might be form in their design, but imo from what I've been able to see so far Lian Li has been doing much better work with viable/practical/accessible innovations in their cases (though yes they also have an aquarium).

Ive said it once, Ill say it again, and Ill keep saying it until they stop pushing this "ultra-light" trash on us. If it has less than 4 buttons for my thumb to hit ITS NOT A DAMN GAMING MOUSE! I dont care how light it is, i dont care how low latency it is, if it doesnt have hot keys for the thumb, its NOT a gaming mouse! ive daily driven a num pad mouse for the last 12 years, its a genuine game changer for gaming, and at least 4 thumb buttons should be a requirement to stick "gaming" on your shit!

The hardware's not their problem. Its their handling of legitimate customer care issues. They have taken the position of greed over future business and reputation. RIP Asus.maybe about 3-5 years after they've had a reputation of EVGA-level service and dedication to their customer..... I would consider a product or two. Maybe. @JJ Show these comments to those who make the calls to scap and rebuild support from the ground, up because I don't see Asus fixing what's been happening. Tear it out by the roots and start over! Asus depends on it.

Until I can preemptively buy spares, such as batteries, fans and coolers, for their custom form factor systems (mini-pcs, laptops) from ASUS support, Jordan Peele said it best: NOPE. How do I know? I asked ASUS Australia and without a warranty issue I was Jordan Peeled. Such A SUS company.

It's understandable they want to show off their newest and latest and greatest, but as someone who knows their budget is never the high end, it kind of makes these shows not very exciting, cause there's very few products for me to actually buy. For me I'm often less interested in what you can get as long as you have unlimited budget, the value is more interesting. It's great they can make that keyboard until they say it's going to be $500, then I check out, cause I'm never spending that much on the keyboard. If he had instead said look at all this cool stuff we put in this keyboard, AND we managed to get it all in for $200, that would be more interesting.

In my day, we used to get a free mouse, keyboard & headphones with any new build that costs over $200.

I just get nauseated when I even see Asus. Theve had over a year to stop pulling shenanigans. Its clear they think, they don't need my business. We shall see how they handle future customer RMA's. While they continue to fluff responsibility with everyone else, ill be road testing gigabyte, Asrock and MSI.

The ITX chassis were kinda neat but locks you into the ASUS Hardware universe. The $500 keyboard, come on I spent $180 for my Corsair and that was too much. Why not add some 4k gold and a Gucci logo and make it $2k.

ROG can be a bit over the top for me when it comes to design. I do like the TUF design more.

ROG wasn't always like this. My Crosshair II Formula still looks great after all these years. Bring back copper heatsinks!

RANT: WIRE CONNECTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE KING!!! Freakin wireless mouse and keyboard, what a disappointment (lets making the PC industry just like crappy consoles industry so everyone losses (except the corpos)), the industry has lost its marbles or has stock in the battery industry and making billions for nonsensical things. "Look how low the latency is, let me pat myself on the back" =not an issue with wire momo. Charge your phone, charge your keyboard, charge your mouse (it would be lighter without a battery if that was something to actually worry about) charge your headphones. Your life will now always revolve around charging everything and it's sad. JUST PLUG IT IN MAN!

JJ, great to see you in action. My case feedback for your BTF ITX cases is that it would be nice if they were a bit modular, or more modular, so that you could have an optional layer that could attach that can accommodate a standard ATX-sized power supply. Currently I have an ultrawide monitor on my desk and would like to fit the vertical orientated itx case in the video. But I don't want to purchase a SFF psu. It's an extra cost for what should be just a case swap. Currently I have an itx mobo. Would be cool if an optional chamber for an atx power supply could be used as a base that the rest of the system stacks on top of or even just docked by their sides. Ideally compatible in all orientations but in my situation I'm looking for the vertical oritentation (vertical gpu) layout so it can sit next to my ultradewide. Personally would love, and appreciate, the minimalist dimensions to be kept. It's the main selling point for me. The open nature I could take or leave. The option to attach a cover after the fact would be nice but I wouldn't know what I prefer without trying both approaches first.

In short, I wish they displayed some upcoming X870E motherboards. Also in short, some of this stuff was pretty cool. Finally, in short, I liked this video.

I like the new BTF designs, I had to google what it was. The deciding factor going forward with PC parts for me is price. As neat as this looks I wont pay a premium for it just because its different. Practicality and price are what is most important. Aesthetics and RGB dont matter much too me.

I'm interested in... seeing *practical* resolutions to the problems highlighted by Steve Burke. I refuse to buy any ASUS products until warranty isn't so convoluted. The UPS and monitor offerings are interesting so long as they're affordable. The OLED thing is a waste of time, as an infamous modder once said: "Cables shouldn't be hidden, they should be beautiful". Same thing for tubes. The rest is meh.

Cannot express how glad I am to see somebody doing something about transient spikes. And since software developers cannot be bothered to optimize their products so they don't trigger transient spikes in the first place, I guess hardware manufacturers have to do it now?

If only Asus would honor their warranty, they know they have a real problem with the warranty process, otherwise they need to get out of the personal PC builder and re-innovate there self Like Nvidia did and like Nvidia asus can ignore us PC builders, at any rate either shit or get off the pot.
