why does my gtx 1080 have a base clock of around 1700mhz, and this is around 1500-1600, i think i can proabbly overclock a gtx 1080ti to a little over 2000mhz

My god Steve, that is way more powerfull then what anyone needs.. I have a 1060 3gig and can play ark epic settings with around 40-60fps but I play high instead because I play pvp. I don't play that much ark anymore though because the devs don't listen to what any of the players say, the maps are very buggy, so many glitches, and they're patches have destroyed the game.

Indeed I do. Seriously though, Your review was very useful for me as our rigs are very similar. You have the GTX 970 while I have the GTX 980. You have the i7 5820K and I have the 5930K in an Asus x99 deluxe. (While you have windows 10 x64 I refuse to move from Windows 7 x64 but am wondering if I'll miss out on direct x12 at some point down the line) I have just ordered the Asus GTX 1080 Ti OC and a new power supply to feed it. I currently have a 1000w PS but as it's the worst part of my system (too loud, non-brand piece of crap) decided to upgrade it to a EVGA Supernova G3 850w. Should all arrive next week so looking forward to it.
