Good review but it's not great one because there are no SOUND comparison between founders edition or other cards. I saw 1070 sound tests and ASUS Strix is one of the laudest cards on the market. Is this cooling a lot quiet in 1060?

would asus have allowed you to put up this video if you was honest and said the card is overpriced? e.g. palit cards have better coolers and they cost less. This card is £80 less then I paid for my 1070 palit, and I think the 1070 is overpriced also, but this is even worse value.

How is it overpriced?it's faster then the 970 and just a little bit more expensive keeping in mind that the 970 went true few price drops.Also i can't be bothered by palit. you ever hold a palit gpu in one hand and asus gpu in the other hand? The quality difference is seeable,feelable on every part of the card. Going from fans,to pcb,to the outer shell.If i buy a product of over 300,400,500 pounds then i just go for quality...those few pounds won't matter anymore on a price tag like that right???....

I think that in the video you should include more info about fan size, and their actual rotation speed. I've seen the review on the website. The screenshots from GPU-Z didn't show everything.

RPM can be very misleading from one card to the next. One card could be 1500 rpm and be silent but the next could be 1200rpm and be very loud.

Hi i was wondering if tits possible to you to get 1060 trubo from asus and make review of it ... in next few months from several builds i building for friend 2 are in node 202 and 1 is in SilverStone Fortress SST-FTZ01B and kinda prefer blower stile GPU's for it and only one except FE i found is asus Turbo line but thers no reviews for it (1060). It would be nice to know if it perform better or worst or same to FE ones.

Looks like EVGA has one that is $249. It also looks like this strix version is $329 here in the US. Who knows what the difference will actually be. The Evga card only has one fan directly on top of it.

hey nice review!! i always was looking at this GPU, so i saw the 1070 one, which is on the same boost clock at this one, only difference is the 1070 is 8GB and this 6GB, is the 1070 worth it over this one?

If youre building a comp from scratch u must consider its lower energy consumtion which often means a lower cost for energy supply (PSU) and actually in the long run also energy cost, electricity costs money and comps draw alot of energy so 100 less watts drawn means u save in the long run i reckon. Just one side of it noone mentioned.

I plan to get a 1060 and am very excited about it, and i'm either getting the STRIX or the FE. The STRIX version really looks like the better choice, but what confuses me is that I have the option to buy a standard STRIX 1060 or the OC edition STRIX 1060, what's the difference? Is it significant? the standard STRIX card is the same price as the FE, while the OC edition is $30 more. Is that what this video is showing?

The price is 289.99 at the moment. I picked it up. I know alot of people say get a GTX 1070 but at those prices 449.99 + tax. Its hitting around 500 bucks for a single GTX 1070. So I picked up this version for 289.99 and a 500 GB SSD and the 3 pack HD120 Fan combo all in total $477.97. So I am very happy. Yes later down the road maybe 6 months to a year I will get the 1070. The one I am eye is the gaming Z by MSI but the prices almost hitng 469.99 + Tax ( so more than 500 bucks. Nah man too much.

I am not the greatest with understanding all of the nuts and bolts. But how can a much cheaper 1060 maintain a stable boost clock of over 2000 speed, which is similar to the 1070? if the clock speed is similar to the 1070 - how does the 1070 perform better? is it the cutacores?

The 1070 has more memory, higher bandwidth, and a lot more stream processors (Cuda cores).

After watching this review and reading about it I went and got this card today. Sadly to say I cannot use it until ASUS decide to address a well known issue regarding this series of cards and their AI Suite software. Installed the card earlier and now I have no Suite software, no fan controls or temp monitors, and no fans spinning on my new 1060 Strix. Anyone have a work around?

It is though because gpu boost automatically increases the clock rate to its highest point although you are right in the sense that it does not increase the power limit which is something you would do during normal overclocking

Yeah. the fans run when your temperature reached around 50+C i think. and if you want to manually start them. Install GPUTweak 2. you can manually run them.

ok reality check budget card is 150 - 199 (+30) mid range card is 200-299 (+40) high end card is 300 - 450 (+50) ultra card is +500 bottom line: a budget card is decided by its price, not what the manufacturer says. When you have a price that is nearing a top of the line CPU, then you know marketing is trying to get to you. I think these prices are ridiculous.
