Expressing the battery charging and discharging rate at %/min is very nice, it gives you an actual idea on how fast it drains instead of knowing the capacity of the battery and a rough estimate but not having any idea how the battery actually performs.

Always preferred ips over oled... for some reason I always notice rainbowing and the unnaturally contrasty colors aside from the pixelation because of the pixel arrangement. Hope more laptops use miniled moving forward.

i have one of these as my main machine. actually incredibly convenient, & i ended up picking it up(the 1080p version with the 1660) with the eGPU on sale. it does all the editing & webdev i need & plays any game with the eGPU. really awesome little machine. wouldn’t recommend it for gaming, or even at all without going the full mile for the eGPU honestly. the flow really excels when it can be a laptop desktop hybrid, but with no eGPU its just an expensive thin laptop imo.

I think this is no longer the case with the 2023 models, Surely the 4050 (the poverty spec version) is fine for gaming? without any eGPU Just use DLSS and turn down settings a bit. I mean the 4050 is a lot faster than a 1660.

You may be in battery mode that is why you experienced the sluggishness during Lightroom + Photoshop part.

if not for x13's avg battery life i would have considered upgrading to the 2022 model as it is on sale in India for 83k. My IdeaPad 5 gives me 8-10hrs of solid battery backup no matter what i throw at it so i don't wanna downgrade much 😅.

Hey @Teoh, thanks for the video. I have seen you use iPad and that makes me ask, are you not using Macbooks for photo and video editing? Is there any reason that you are sticking you windows. I am also torn apart between choosing mac and windows. I am more comfortable using windows and still trying to look at reviews to help me with my decision.

I use my Macbook Pro for photo and video editing. I use Mac many years ago because it’s more stable than Window. But today Windows OS is really good. I don’t think there is any specific reason to choose Mac unless you want to use Mac exclusive apps, or of you want a laptop with really good battery life.

@@sanjeevkumars1197 And sometimes the ASUS software would throttle the performance when on battery power, so to get full performance it has to be connected to power. Or you may find the setting to get full performance at the expense of battery life.

The 7945HX (16 core) is gonna be noticeably more powerful than the 7940HS (8 core) in this laptop. But that will also drain more battery obviously.

I'm looking at the 4050 version, I'm used to steamdeck so I'm sure the 4050 will be plenty powerful. I mostly play retro games anyway or NiNuKuni/Octopath/Vampire Survivors that kind of thing. Though I will probably get Starfield which is a locked 30fps on console. So should be ok.

I tried to order it in Ireland but orderd got cancelled and I was refunded. I was devistated, I thought I found my perfect partner. They won't see that model in Ireland I can only get the 4060 version which costs 260 pounds more. So I am now considering the Yoga Pro 9i 14 with 13905H and 4060 for same price as what the 4050 version was costing with student discount. It's 300-350g heaiver though and I don't know if i wanna carry that but it is slghlty lighter/cheaper/unibody (like mac) and bigger screen than the G14 which I can also get.. Basically the 4050 and igpu versions of flow are UNOBTAINIUM in Ireland (and US I'm told too).

Great review! I have the 2022 model and the only thing that annoys me is the weird behavior after putting it to sleep and waking it up. Sometimes it stays in "Tablet mode" or the keyboard becomes laggy, and the only thing I can do to bring it back to normal is to restart it. And if I bring the battery below 40% and connect the power adapter, the CPU will clock down to 600Mhz, and will back to full speed after it is above 40%. Do you have any of this problems with the newer version? Or has anyone solved this issues?

I'll try to borrow one for review if there's a review unit. I've reviewed the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED from 2022 and that's one of the top 3 laptops from ASUS. So chances are this 14-inch model is gonna be a top 3 for 2023.

I recently bought Asus rog flow x13 2022 laptop. I do digital art, use photoshop, illustrator, After effects and premier pro a lot. One of the main reasons was sketching and i needed a portable powerful PC also. I got the power but not satisfied with the sketching experience of ROG Flow x13. While sketching i zoom in and zoom out a lot. The problem with sketching on rog flow screen is that there is delay when you instantly try to zoom in or zoom out after putting down few strokes using a pen. I have to wait for a 2-3 seconds and then do that action. I gets very annoying when you are working on an illustration and want to do it at a fast speed. I don't know the problem behind it, a Bug?, or a sensor issue? or a software update issue? Driver Issue? or something else. Is anyone facing a similar issue on their Rog Flow x13. While using a pen? Kindly help with a solution to it. I have spent a lot of money buying this laptop and sketching was one of my main requirements. This annoying delay is making me regret my decision of buy it.

Curious to know if the 2022 spec of this is a good deal at 2499 euros? It comes with the 6850m xt egpu attachment as well. It's got the Ryzen 9 6900HS. Thanks for the replies

No it is not. For less than that you can get a g14 with a 4070 which will outperform the 6850m, without having to have a big external gpu and it's almost as thin. As for the touch, maybe you could also get the x13 with a 4070 for that price too.

No, you have to buy the version with RTX 4070 and 32GB RAM already soldered. Its not upgradable, so with the 16GB RAM Version you would have to stickto 16GB

I was able to get 6+ hours battery life with display at maximum brightness, at 9 hours at 50% brightness. Battery life is decent for office type work.

Point noticed: Have you straight up forgot to explain about the right side of the laptop? I own a 2021 version of it and I liked all the upgrades like the 165Hz refresh rate, cover for the XGm port, microSD card slot, IR camera and the bigger logo at the back along with rechargeable pen. The only thing I think I'll be missing is the fingerprint unlocking. Also I might feel slow charging on power bank as the power bank supports max. 100W 😅.

Are you sure that the 2023 model is missing the fingerprint unlocking? I think it still might have one. It's just that most people don't realise it's there since it's on the side and rather hard to notice. Did your 2021 model have one? Thanks

My XG Mobile RTX 4090 is only running a base clock of 1800 Mhz and drops to 1500 Mhz while gaming. It only pulls a max of 120 watts when it's supposed to be using 150 watts as well. Time for a BIOS fix on this new Flow X13 or something 😒
