I'm deciding between these two, and the ProArt ticks almost every box over the Flow except for one- no MUX switch is honestly a deal breaker. I'm mostly going to be using the device for note taking and productivity, with gaming as a secondary feature, so I'd really prefer to have the graphics option be less power hungry when it's less than necessary. Personally, I feel like my perfect 2-in-1 notebook in this format would be something like if Lenovo took their Legion 5 Slim (14") and used the chassis from the Thinkpad X1 2-in-1 (formerly Yoga) series and implemented some of the cooling from the Legion series. But Lenovo seems to rarely take chances on their gaming lines anymore and just opt to release the same thing for years now. Really good video though, I think I'm still going to lean towards the ProArt, but the X13 is ever tempting.

Hi! I'm watching this video on 1.5x speed. I'll put my thoughts here. I also bought one solely to test the APU / and because it's the X13 successor, the 4050 version though. I think my main problems with the X13 were the lack of HDR and no 4080/more VRAM (at that price). The new panel doesn't seem to do VRR/freesync on the iGPU (at least) though, as you mentioned, so still not that happy on that front either. And the OLED somewhat reduces the battery (not as bad as other laptops). Seems like it can sustain ~90W combined (but perhaps only 60W CPU, which is fine. speaking of, the whisper mode on this laptop is 60W CPU and the 16" they sent reviewers have whisper modes of

Hello, Cameron! So, in your opinion after testing and using all of these thin and light laptops and two in ones perhaps you could do a video to rank them. Like give them a weighted point system. - Gaming x points. - Office use x points - Development x points - Creative use including pen support x points - Battery x points - Compatibility x points (because of the snapdragons) - Weight x points - Versatility x points. etc (these are just a few examples/suggestions) It would be really interesting if you could make a video comparing all of them. Personally, I'm interested in the Surfaces of this year Business (Intel Core Ultra) and Snapdragon models and the Minisform. I know that you have already compared them, but it would be really cool if you could do like a showdown of all of them against one another, specifically, because your tests have been mostly two machines one vs the other. Besides there has been a few driver updates in the meantime, I can imagine. Thanks Cameron! I always like to come checkout your channel. Always interesting! Keep well

And I dont understand why ASUS would give 60hz screen to a covertible laptop made for artist who most likely gonna use a stylus, the latency gonna drive me nuts personally.

I agree that having a 60hz display on a laptop this experience is ridiculous, but is anything more than 60hz needed for professional illustration work? I used to use a cintiq for my work, and they're all 60hz(unless you go up the ladder). Is 120hz a big difference when it comes to illustrating? I also play games on a 480hz monitor, and the switch to 60hz isn't a massive deal to me. But people paint it as the end of the world. Its between this laptop and last years x13 for me, but deciding to get is very hard when everyone's needs are very different.

@Ethan-qc9po2 ай бұрын
@@abxrynx I did end up getting the px13 with the 4060 recently, and it's still within the return policy, so if I wanna switch to a g14 I can (I know this was between the px13, and the x13, but here in canada, I can’t get an x13 for a reasonable price). But the laptop is honestly pretty great. My main gripe about the laptop being 60hz is still an issue though. It is definitely noticeable versus a higher refresh screen, but if you are using the laptop for simple tasks, and illustration, it's adequate. I bought this laptop for work, as a dedicated device that I could use to render in photoshop on the go, and it gets the job done. If you plan to buy this laptop as a primary device for professional illustration, I do not recommend it. I'm pretty sure that this isn't just an issue on this laptop alone, but an mpp problem, but the lines can get kinda squiggly if you are drawing slow. Which to me, makes it unusable for line art. Luckily, I just use this laptop to render, and an ipad for line art, so not an issue for me. It's nothing some stabilization in program can fix, but not ideal. I've found myself loving the form factor of this thing over anything else since this is my first time with a 2-1 laptop. Battery life is okay, not amazing, but able to get through a whole day most of the time. I probably will end up keeping this laptop, but for how much I paid for it here in Canada, I do have to consider if it’s worth it. TL:DR Px13 is great if all you are doing is work that doesn’t require precise pen input. Mpp pen and 60hz is keeping this thing from being the best laptop this year. 60hz isn’t a huge deal, but at 3300 CAD after tax for a 4060 model. It’s ridiculous. If you don’t need this formfactor, just buy a g14 with a wacom movink.

Fun fact: 1st gen Flow X13 with entry-level spec (16Gb/512gb/GTX1650/LCD) was literately half of the price of ProArt PX13. Granted, it had lower specs, but on the other hand GTX 1650 back then was what RTX 4050 or 4060 (depending on wattage) is nowadays. I guess ASUS realized that no one else was making 2in1 with dedicated gpu, so they priced it ridiculously high. Also PX13 lacks eGPU plug which Flow 13 has. The spec really do not make much sense either. Why there is no 4050 variant ? 4K screen and yet even 4070 has only 8GB of V-ram. And the screen is 60hz. To me it is way more expensive and actually inferior product to Flow X13. Also, I would really want to see a comparison to other 14 inch thin & light laptops (as those are most similar and aren't this much bigger - like Areo 14 Oled for example). Is it worth overpaying this much ? ? ?

Great review! One question though. If you use them with 100w PD chargers for portability, would the lose a lot of performance or would they act as if they are in balanced mode? Would they become equal in performance? What would happen? By the way, if the x13 charger is 130W usb-c, this means that the ports on x13 support PD higher than 100W , right? 🤔 So it's not PD3.0 which maxes out at 100W, but probably PD3.1 which can support upto 240W, right? 🤔🤔 Can you try a usb-c charger with higher than its original 130w and see if it works as well as the original, or you are restricted to the original charger for the full power? 😕
@cbutters2 ай бұрын
While the X13 can charge at 130W, that does not mean it supports PD higher than 100W. The stock charger can deliver 130W, but it is an ASUS proprietary thing, not PD. I know the X13 does not support 140W PD either. (I have tried with a 140W PD charger) Only ASUS Proprietary Signal gets you to 130W, otherwise you're getting 100W PD or below with conventional chargers.
