Yes, but you will not perceive any difference to 1440p on a phone screen, unless you are holding it very close to your eyes. I think I would rather have 1080p with 165Hz than 1440p with 120Hz.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro and seeing this ROG 9, makes me wanna go back to android. Only because of the battery life this ROG 9 offers. I wonder when Apple increases their battery capacity though. 😢

It's great hardware but these gaming phones sort of fall into the same category as something like the Nothing phones with the LED screen on the back. It's super cool...but how many people are going to wanna intentionally leave their device lying flat on the screen? Not to mention only two year's worth of security and OS upgrades is absurd for a price that costs over a grand.

When ROG 8 came out, I decided to buy ROG 7. I just think the 8 had a bunch of unnecessary "downgrades" from the 7. The 7 had dual speaker, 6000mah battery, less thick camera bump, and no punch hole.

He didn't discuss audio, but I'm assuming the quad DAC to that disappeared after the 6 or 7 has not returned. Stuck with Snapdragon audio like everything else.

@@MrKentaroMotoPI The DAC is gone on ROG Phones since the 6, the 5S was the last one with a dedicated headphone amp. But even so, the headphone jack on the ROG Phone 8 is much more powerful and also better sounding than the one on the RedMagic 9 Pro. And btw, the Xperia 1 VI also doesn't have a dedicated DAC and has worse headphone jack quality and output power compared to the newer ROG Phones.

The best ROG phone was ROG phone II (i still got it ),after that everithing goes bananas with ROG phones (especially in the price department)-i change phone every year (samsung ultra line is main phone )and every 2 years gaming phone ( curently red magic 8s pro from last year). ASUS can charge premium for ROG line only if they deliver BEST gaming phone,but they dont-like all gaming phone brands they are inferior in material ,camera,softwear support is poor and limited ( why they dont offer something like samsung DEX for a big screen gaming).If they make PREMIUM phone like Apple or Samsung with all the best gaming fitures i will pay premium and carry only one phone, till den red magic offer more for the money in gaming department and Samsung and Apple in premium department.

It is much cheaper than the ROG, but it is also worse. It has worse speakers, headphone jack, cameras, vibration motor, screen brightness and refresh rate as well as no wireless charging and not IP rating. Also, the RedMagic will only receive one Android update. I do like the big uninterrupted flat screen on it tho.

I would suggest everyone to not buy Asus phones. I had bought a Zenfone 8 from them and was very pleased with the whole experience. But exxactly after 2 years passed, they did something to brick the phone. I say that they (Asus) did it because there are threads across the internet that where hundreds of people are complaining about nearly the same thing. And for most their phones got bricked right after their warranty period ended. All this does not seem like a coincidence to me. So I would suggest others to stay away from a brand that does scummy tactics like this. Just imagine after a year or two you lose all your important data because the manufacturer decided to brick your phone.

I can't use the language Asus deserves. The Rog Phone 8 had two buttons on the back fan. The 6, and 7, had four. This telephone is trash, and Asus as a company is a failure. Although the Asus Phones have gaming aspects, like separate sensitivity controls, which for me are the most important part, they are not ever spoken about. The only way to get full computer movement for the game Player Unknown's Battlegrounds on the Mobile version, New State, is with an Asus Rog Phone. The biggest disappointment since the Asus Rog Phone 8. Which, is super cheap anywhere, compared to the never-price-dropping Asus Rog 7.
