I'd prefer the glossy, but the selling point for me was the dual 4k/FHD modes. I like competitive games, but I also like single player cinematic experiences. Just can't beat a 2 in 1 imo. If the UCDM had dual resolution/refresh rates, I'd pick that, but alas, it doesn't.

Yo.... this is the first review after watching many that talks about the KVM. Questions: 1) How fast is it (in seconds) to switch, and 2) is there a quick way to switch between devices or do you have to dig into the OSD? Thanks
@FIREWOLFTECH3 ай бұрын
The Auto KVM switch is usually pretty quick (like 5-10 seconds) to switch between the 2. Most of the time, you don't need to manually switch it, but in case you do, then you'll need to dig into OSD to manually switch to USB-B or USB-C. KVM is seriously underrated and it's something I like to talk about when doing my reviews since it could be a deal breaker for some that want/need that feature 🔥

Just got this monitor. Running it with a 2070 Aorus Super (crazy I know). My benchmark is my 2024 G16 Oled. This is what made me want to get an OLED. Even though I think the colors pop more on my laptop. This monitor gives my eyes less strain. The colors are very good too and id say just slightly off. I also appreciate the lack of glare. Even though you can't see it on the laptop I can still feel it sometimes.

This may help some people, I sold my alienware aw3225qf and got the PG32UCDP. The main reason is the glossy screen gave me eye strain. I work from home twice a week and i mainly game on it the other days.. and no, the matte does not make the screen worse as people make it seem, i would argue the magenta when light hits the screen on qd-oled is more annoying, and i have a well light controlled room.

For some reason, when I had both side by side I didn't notice that huge difference everyone talks about, I mean I notice the difference but I wouldn't say it was like omg, I call it a little better. One of the reason that got me to pick UCDP is cause I heard qd oled causes more eye strain because of blue light to people, where not a lot of people got eye strain with matte Woled, I rather have little difference in image quality than better quality but have my eyes all messed up, probably long term might even damage my vision
@FIREWOLFTECH4 ай бұрын
I don’t really notice eye strain since I use glasses with blue eye filters. They both have blue filters to reduce eye strain, but the matte does help blocking those direct light rays. It’s great to have choices and I’m glad that ASUS took the jump to introduce a matte WOLED version despite having the UCDM
@gioldk42564 ай бұрын
I had both. For some reason, I notices lots of bad Color banding (or posterization effect) on Woleds including my sony A90k and UCDP. However, UCDM doesn’t have any problem and I believe it is much better calibrated for HDR out of the box. I don’t think the higher peak brightness could compensate the bad EOTF tracking and accuracy at this price. I returned my UCDP and kept the UCDM simply because of its color accuracy.

I am (was) an owner of UCDM and a huge YES, the UCDM causes a LOT of eye strain an I needed approx. 6 weeks of daily usage to understand, that something is wrong with my eyes and that this problem is caused by my new monitor. That is my absolutely first OLED screen and I had no clue before that monitors can even produce eye strain at all. My eye strain was so big, that I began experience additional head ache that could potentially last the whole day (usually I never have head ache). I tried a lot of settings, but nothing helped. So I sold it second market. Now I will try first LG 32GS95 and maybe going to test UCDP someday too. UCDPs are still quite badly available and pricy in Germany. If WOLED causes eye strain on my eyes too, there will be nothing left to go back to LED. But I hope, WOLED is the choice for my eyes - 'cause this new era of monitors are just insane. I've read some threads on reddit and QD OLEDs seems to be a bigger issue than it ment to be by the manufacturers. I would like to know, what exactly causes eye strain - blue light, glossy coating or rather PWM... or maybe a combination of them all. And there is not much information to this topic at the moment.

Amazing for productivity if you only work 2-3 hours per day, because the screen burn-in for QD-OLEDs is real, and hurts the display a lot. I do not recommend QD-OLEDs in general for productivity, just for gaming and even there, don't expect to play to much without having a huge risk of burn-in.

Burn in is overblown and a.non issue for woleds at this point unless you plan on keeping it for 6+ years.

Do not spread such nonsense … the burn in risk is massively exaggerated, especially by false comments like yours! I really do not understand why people spread such untrue information … others buying them as facts! The UCDM is NOT amazing for productivity! Washed out, non sharp text … for productivity the UCDP is recommended … that does NOT have QD-OLED. Why not for productivity related to burn in? There is a potential risk with static items on the screen … irrelevant if gaming or productivity! The 2-3 hours you made up … of course the risk is sky high if you leave the same static element on-screen non-stop for multiple days … whilst switching off all safety features! But why do you do that? I have an Oled TV for 5 years … despite excessive use and me falling asleep whilst watching the risk is zero … plenty of safety measures. Even fell asleep with critical elements on for 8 hours! Of course nothing happened. I also got QD-Oled laptop … running 13 hours a day … mainly productivity … plenty of static elements! 5 years and no burn it!

9:46 Did you really just imply that the raised black tint on the qd-oled monitor, on the right, is due to the gloss coating? You really made it seem like that. That's kind of misleading as a reviewer that people put their trust into. The raised black tint is due to the nature of the qd-oled technology and has nothing to do with the gloss vs matte coating discussion. I personally would much rather have a reflection instead of a smear across my display. I wouldn't even consider a matte coating over a gloss coating even if I was using the display outside in the middle of the day with the sun slamming on it. I had a 1080p laptop with a glass touchscreen display and I would use it outside to show off my recorded drone footage and it looked incredible compared to my work laptop with a matte finish at a higher resolution. If they were so confident in their matte coating's superiority then why didn't they give an option for every model to be able to choose the type of coating you'd like? I'm going with the Dough Spectrum Black 32" display when it comes out. Something else to consider for you viewers, if you're intelligent and want the best display, get a used LG C3 at 42" for about $500. Two of my friends just got one. Samsung's QN90C 43" TV has an IPS panel which gives perfect pixel layouts for PC usage for the max text clarity and SDR brightness is between 1000-2000nits unlike those weak oled monitors that just shit the bed in SDR and have pixel layouts that aren't even compatible with Windows. It has no compromise to HDR and the color brightness shits on the s95c qd-oled. You will literally get deeper blacks on the QN90C mini-led vs the S95C's qd-oled. You will also be able to use BFI without your brightness going to absolute shit like most panels. Sure these solutions wont give you a competitive edge, well the 120hz samsung with bright BFI might, but you will be getting the best fucking 4k 120hz immersion that will shit on most monitor solutions out there that lack in brightness. Asus's w-oled would be a consideration if it was actually glossy, the rest of the solutions out there are simply trash. QD-OLED is not worth it with those raised blacks so I wouldn't even consider it. The other Asus woled glossy panel that they released the other day doesn't get bright enough so that's not a consideration either. Why the fuck is glossy woled so rare to find? Probably because it's superior to everything and most of these manufacturers would run out of ideas and ways to get you to buy the next one. If you can afford going with a larger PC display then consider the LG G3. Motion resolution is being deeply ignored. I love how no reviewer is measuring brightness levels of these displays when using BFI techniques. This really matters for immersive none-competitive gaming where you can't push 480FPS, which is like 99% of the fucking titles out there when at 4k.
@FIREWOLFTECH4 ай бұрын
1. I didn't explicatively state that the raised blacks were caused because of the semi-gloss coating. At 9:46 I implied that using glossier coating in very bright setups, direct light, sunlight, etc. can ruin your experience (I also gave a user's experience) . After that, I said "in this example" referring to the clip, that the UCDP has no raised blacks vs the UCDM. Maybe I should've made it more clear, but the whole point of that section was to compare both Gloss vs Matte, and UCDP vs UCDM. 2. A laptop will almost always have a gloss coating because you can adjust the ANGLES of the screen and move the physical position. Laptops are also much brighter for the purpose of outside use. For your own preference and eyes, gloss is king, but for others it might not be the best choice. That's the beauty of options. 3. LG C3 is a steal at the price, but its still a 42-inch TV which is a huge size difference between a 32-inch. You're also locked at 120Hz (144 for C4), and with the 50-series GPU's coming out soon, 4K at 240 will probably be much easier to hit. Still an amazing display ! 4. Glossy is unfortunately not the best option for monitors. Samsung having experience from their previous semi gloss QD-OLED monitors and having a huge market share probably realized that it makes more sense to make it matte (G80SD and G60SD). They wouldn't make that choice on purpose to make their monitors worse. LG didn't even try it, despite glossy enthusiasts saying how garbage it is. 5. Glossy WOLED would be possible if third party brands like ASUS switch the coating to glossy (XG27AQDMG). On a final note, I'll try to be more mindful but there are going to be times where I might make a mistake so I really appreciate you bringing this up and I also appreciate your feedback, experience, and sharing your own preferences since it helps everyone make a better decision !

Those are VERY different products with different purposes. If you want the best HDR and picture quality for single player games, go with G3. If you want the fastest monitor for e-sports games, go AQDP, if u want a balance of everything, go UCDP

@@ryanvasei8412 I hae G3 already. I've been wanting to try the others for the 480 hz thing. I use lossless scaling frame generation with this tv and it's fine but I think it could be better input lag wise with a faster refresh panel.

i can play 1440 on this monitor ?

From the os, yes. But, it's not natural so it would look weird.

@@007finnesshow would 1080 look. i have a dilemma. i have a beast computer that can handle 4k 240hz wtv. but id rather play like CS, COD, FPS games at 1440 or 1080 for higher frames but without blur. so should i pick this monitor up, or grab a 27inch 2k 240hz OLED for FPS and use my non-oled 4k 144hz for non fps games
@007finness2 ай бұрын
@userab2024 if I was pretty good at shooting games, I would get the 1440p oled. And if money is not an issue, I would buy the 4k for other games and entertainment. I recently got this monitor but decided to get the qled as well and will keep whichever one I will prefer. Currently waiting for the qled to arrive.

@@007finness thanks! appreciate the response :). i decided im gonna do a 2k 27” 240hz oled as i play tons of FPS. then later on pickup the 4k 240hz 32” for story games etc. i already have a 4k 144hz non oled which is good enough for now :)

Don't trust anything Asus make anymore, particular their monitors, horrendous customer support and dreadful HDR implementation on many of their monitors. The issues with the UCDM's both 4k and UW both have problems with over polarisation on skin tones which are all over their forums but remain unresolved.

Dude I got the UCDM this weekend and the Samsung G8 and immediately sent back the G8. my local BB has the UCDP but I don’t think I could ever not run games in 4k since I have a 4090 even COD I just love 4k 240hz glossy way to much!

with ur setup are u able to hit 240hz or close to it at 4k for cod?

@@Cardboardzz in multiplayer I can get 200-220. In Warzone it’s more like 175-180 with ultra settings or high on everything

quick question mr zac how many frames or hz does it get if you change the resolution to 1440p ? for warzone
@boogylama3 ай бұрын
why would you want 1080P and not 1440p kinda useless. 1440P is the king.
@sobri19983 ай бұрын
Tricky to get 480hz at 1440, not many graphics cards would support that. Whereas nowadays a lot of high end graphics cards would reach 480hz at 1080p. If the point is to get as high a frame rate as possible, that's definitely the better choice

Why? I have the UCDM now but am wondering if I should get the UCDP. It has the same features but is matte and has 480hz. The color difference doesn’t seem like a big deal.
