@geplayer if you connect both 8pins it will not harm anything as it leaves more power for the board. I connected both 8pins.

I have this motherboard running: Ryzen 9 7900X (PBO / Curve Optimizer -20 all cores) G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB Series 2 X16GB DDR5 6000Mhz / CL30 EXPO II Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 4090 - 2940MHz core (+133MHz core / + 200MHz mem via MSI curve editor stress test = stable) WD_Black SN850X NVMe M.2 2TB Corsair RMx Shift Series RM1000x 80+ Gold PSU DeepCool LT720 360mm AIO White Lian Li Dynamic EVO w/ Lain Li Fans Couldn't be more pleased, attaining benchmark results generally in the top 5% or better for CPU / RAM / GPU and Storage.

I still don’t get why Asus put 2 8-Pin CPU connectors on this board. There is no AM5 CPU that is doing more than 300 watts

Have they done a new revision of this board or something? I'm seeing higher numbers on ASUS website... 4 x DIMM, Max. 192GB, DDR5 4 x DIMM, Max. 192GB, DDR5 8000+(OC)/7800(OC)/7600(OC)/7200(OC)/7000(OC)/6800(OC)/6600(OC)/6400(OC)/ 6200(OC)/ 6000(OC)/ 5800(OC)/ 5600(OC)/ 5400(OC)/ 5200/ 5000/ 4800 ECC andNon-ECC, Un-buffered Memory* Like this for example, am I missing something? ROG Strix X670E-F Gaming WiFi This is the motherboard I'm looking at.

Just build 7800x3d with this board. not tested yet but works well with my rog ryijin II 360
