This laptop looks like a beauty bro. Thermals aside this seems like a great option if you don't want to use ARM.

It's actually just as efficient as the Snapdragon laptops and the iGPU is twice as fast, and it runs every x86 program. This product puts a lot of pressure on Qualcomm!

That's one big trackpad!! Should I get this or should I pay a little more for the new PX13? I'll be using it mostly for school work, editing food and travel photos, and playing Sims!

PX13 might be better long term but you lose out on the 120Hz display and obviously the bigger screen.

This computer plays all 1080p games well at medium settings (except Alan Wake). If you play mostly on the laptop screen it should be great and its super portable! If you play on QHD monitors or want a true tablet fold-flat screen then get the PX 13. I write code and need a 16-inch screen...

Hey man, great review. I am torn between the Zenbook S16 and the Zephyrus G16 with the AI 9 370 chip. Which one would you recommend? The S16 (32gb) costs 2099€ here and the G16(16GB, RTX4060) cost 2299€. Is the RTX4060 with 16GB still better than the S16?
@Aemond8392 ай бұрын
Please let me know what option you went with, because I'm looking for a long lasting battery laptop, (I don't game) and I'm scared the GPU in the G16 will drain battery unnecessarily compared to the S16 Notebook

Glad it’s working out for you much better now! To be fair snapdragon are not “gaming laptops” and their Adreno GPU’s are far more inferior than the iGPU on these new AMD chips.

Hey:) I want to get a new laptop to replace my old 10-year-old laptop. What do you think is better Asus Vivobook s16 or this Asus zenbook s 16? I need to work in Photoshop, or other drawing programs, sometimes play games, well, in general, just a good laptop to live a long time with me:)
@HeyMarkL2 ай бұрын
I think you'll enjoy the Zenbook S16. But if you really want a good laptop that'll last you for a good while, the Asus Zephyrus G16 is a step above both and can game really well too. You still get OLED, better speakers, and now has this new chip AMD AI HX 370. If that's out of your budget though, go Zenbook S16
@dgillies54203 ай бұрын
For the extra $100 of this laptop you get 2x the iGPU and OLED, the lenovo has neither (and i love lenovo btw).
@owen92733 ай бұрын
This laptop does have the oled touch screen. I picked one up for $1299. I don't need the extra gpu cores as I will be connecting an eGPU when gaming. Only bad thing imo is that this doesn't have 32gb ram, top end model should've came with 48gb and low end should've been 32gb.
@dgillies54203 ай бұрын
@@owen9273 yeah I finally decided not to get the s16. Turns out most of the igpu performance boost is from the 880m. The 880m is 10% faster than the 780m. The 890m is only about 7% faster than the 880m. The 890m is truly a HARD fail in a GPU. It should be 33% faster, in theory, but is bus bandwidth bottlenecked ...The cooling on the s16 is insufficient and I wanted 32 GB of RAM. So I bought an Asus VivoBook with a 4060 and 80w cooling and a 7940hs. I plan to disable the GPU and run the laptop in whisper mode! The discrete GPU adds another 8 gigabytes of RAM, so, 40GB total!. It was only $1099 on clearance!

Your recommendation is really weird Why would you recommend a chip that is slower and does not run all the applications instead of this? Thats crazy
@HeyMarkL3 ай бұрын
Because there’s a thing called translation layers that’ll be able to run more x86 apps (not all) and this will get better as support for ARM gets better at the end of this year and next. Recommending a laptop that is cheaper that can get similar results is what I’m trying to do
@SlateMonster-z4x3 ай бұрын
@HeyMarkL So you are saying buy this bad product now, but it will get better in the future. Trust me. and what happens to the people that take your recommendation and run into an application that does not run next month? The arm hype is real. The arm windows machines should be selling for significantly less, to compensate for their lack of full compatibility, if tomorrow comes and they fix that's when they have better value.
@dgillies54203 ай бұрын
ARM GPU runs at less than half the speed. Microsoft didn't emulate all the x86 instructions! Microsoft doesn't like Vulcan! The Snapdragon X Elite is really only 3/4th of a computer.
