It has major wifi and connectivity issues which no review on KZbin is covering for some reason. Just test out the internet speed before buying, it caps it down 4-5x the actual internet speed.

@@thisismewtwo8149 same, honestly if you aren't working on a big project (1500+ lines of code or 10gb of resources in games) , even a 4 core will serve you well, ideally if you are gonna use it for 5+ years, get 8 cores 16 threads for sure, 16 gb ram minimum, 512gb ssd and if you can buy a 1tb external ssd(Trust me , it's something I can't live without anymore, transferring data files worth 100+ gb is super easy), and if you are hoping to go into 3d game design or video editing down the road, a dedicated gpu is a must,4 gb will suffice, 6 gb recommended, and finally , weight and battery life, ideally should be less than 2 kg and atleast 6+ hrs , considering all this a g14(5800hs/5900hs, ideally 3060 ,3050 will be alright and 1650 isn't recommended going into 2022) or flow x13(5900hs, sadly 1650 but it's convertible). personally i would buy the g14, if the m1 macbook air was optimized for game design i would've wholeheartedly recommended that but arm is still very much early beta (still plenty fast i should mention)in that regards i would say wait for the m2 version if you like the mac systems. basically get the m2 mac air or g14 with 8 core cpu

I have the Asus ROG Strix G15 with RTX 3070 and gotta say I love it. It looks good, performs amazingly, only thing I dislike is that the material of the laptop smudges pretty easily and feels rather difficult to clean. But everything, from the screen to port placements to trackpad to performance to build quality, it all feels great.

@Dave2D, a few things you might want to check out on your $1799 Best Buy version of the G15. 1) If you update the bios to the newest bios (Bios version 404);, you'll find that you get close to 9 hours of battery life as opposed to 6.5 hours. 2) Also, you can adjust the keyboard lighting to be whatever color you want it to be (I have it set to red) through the Asus armory crate installed on your laptop.

I'm in france and a week ago i bought this zephyrus G15 GA503 model, it looks nice and all BUT !!! it doesn't got multi color keyboard lighting, it's just plain old white... i've tried amoury crate, tried amoury creator, nothing works; on the net some say it has multicolor, while others say no it doesn't; reseller has no clue on the subject and asus helpdesk told me that "it should have multi color !!" ... so, i am very confused... does it have multi color or not ? u seem to testify that it DOES, some youtuber did showcase G15 with rainbow color the first time the machine boots... but mine is simple only WHITE, or maybe the model for the US is different ? so in the end i'm returning this machine the same day because of this confusing issue and it's very unpleasant... asus customer service is like worse than the worst... what a mess :/

Thanks for the in depth reviews of new laptops. I went ahead and purchased the Best Buy configuration of this model based on your recommendations. I had been eyeing the 3080 white version, but based on your reviews and what I have seen from other tech youtubers, the actual performance of the mobile 3080 isn't worth the premium price tag at the moment. Excellent review of this laptop. I returned the Alienware m15 R5 to stay with the Asus G15 mainly due to the far-superior sound quality in the G15. The port configuration and placement were much more gamer/user friendly as well. The design and materials used also makes the G15 feel quite durable with VERY little keyboard flex. ASUS delivered an excellent contender for the title.

interesting... i bought a G15 last week and it ONLY HAS WHITE light... tried everything, amoury crate, amoury creator, drivers, updates; reseller says they don't care, asus customer service says "it should have", in some forum they say no only white light while in most youtube reviews it definitely has rainbow color... very confusing. So I'm returning this product, almost the same day I recieved it... now i'm assuming the models are quite different in the US than outside (mine is european version)

Yeah it comes in both rgb and white. Which one your local shops/online outlets get depends on the region. For some it's white and for some it's rgb.

No. That's the snipping tool. Print Screen alternative on devices without Print Screen button is FN+WIN+SPACE. That does the exact same thing as Print Screen and the keys are very close together in the bottom left which I actually prefer over using my right hand to reach for the Print Screen button even on a regular keyboard. Note that FN+WIN+SPACE is only available on devices without a dedicated Print Screen button.

I bought the ASUS G15 Zephyrus laptop after reading the positive reviews. 2 weeks after buying the laptop kept stuttering while streaming online music and video. Did a google search and found this stuttering problem is being faced by many users of this laptop for over a year but ASUS has not done anything about it.

I hope they do. I'd rather save 50 to 100 bucks for a feature that literally means nothing to me.... I'd rather an IR sensor and no actual camera if anything. Laptop cameras are never better than the same generations phone cameras. We already have phones. I mean even if you plan on streaming an onboard camera shouldn't be good enough. For what reason should they include a camera in the future. If they increased the price to include it you'd like that?

@@josephgood2704 To me it's important to have a camera so that I can teach classes remotely and I wouldn't like to have to buy a camera after paying for a new computer (where I live even with the 'discounted' feature I'd still be paying more if I get a camera separately). And I wouldn't like them to increase the price of course, but I'd rather pay for a computer that has all the features I need.

A camera is literally 20-50$ to get the same quality as you''d get on any laptop (I got one for 40 USD that also has windows hello) So you'd rather pay an extra 200 to have it included rather than paying an extra 50 to buy it seperate? Even if it's just a 30 second delay that you'd be prepared for teaching. I can't understand that situation financially. That premium is a huge reason why this laptop is even in the news. If it had a camera it'd push it into a price point where it would have never been relevant. If that original G14 was 1600 instead of 1450 for the premium model in the US with a shitty web cam fit in there it would have gotten significantly less press because it wouldn't touch their price to performance barriers.

Again, the money saved only applies to the US, if I bought this laptop where I live the base price is already over 1900 dollars + the camera I’d had to buy. So I wouldn’t be saving any money and I’d still need to pay more. In the end I feel like this is like apple taking away the charger and earphones from the box (it makes the price a bit cheaper in the US but way higher in other countries-making it less convenient).

Like if the Best Buy version of the g14 didn't sell out like hot cakes the one you have now wouldn't exist. I'd say take what you can get, but you want to take it all and you don't care about costs. I still just don't think this is the laptop for you. It's not good enough. I'm sorry about the pricing difference. But I can't imagine what it'd be if they added a camera and straight up competed to be the outright best

2021 Zephyrus G15 much improved than 2020. Some points yet to iMproved: A) 2 upgradeable RAM slot. B) Bright 16 inch display alike G16 scale with 16:10 ratio. C) Smartphone selfie cam as Webcam. D) Speaker with more bass. E) 5 degree more incline. F) Large side vents to not heat screen. G) Place a full capacity USB C port in between left vent and hinge. H) Place DC power in - beside Kensington lock.

Apple just focuses on looks. They ditched every single port on their MacBooks and left just 4 C - ports on the Pro. The so called “Ergonomics” just hinders work, especially for people who wanted a MacOS device, but couldn't afford the (obviously overpriced) $50,000 Mac Pro.

I am a "pro"fessional and I use computers for work. No docks, dongles and hubs for me. Those are clumsy to carry and to use. Prone for not being there the moment you need them. That moment you spend messing with a dongle and not paying attention can be the moment that decides a multi million EUR deal. To hell with those.
