Asymmetrical Abstract Modern Gold Stenciled Ginkgo Leaf Cake | Cake Decorating Tutorial

In this cake decorating tutorial, I wanted to make a cake with a ginkgo leaf design and I wanted it to be asymmetrical at the same time. SO I decided to do that with a gold stencil, faux cake and skeleton leaves that I airbrushed gold to go with the whole theme. I have had this one in mind for a long time:)

I love this cake design Mary! Question, how did you make the fans like.the stencil design? And did you use pre-made Burgundy Fondant? Every time I let my Fondant set out to firm up I get elephant skin and I use Crisco massaged in it. What to do to get it like yours all nice and smooth?? Thank you Mary for sharing!! 😊❤❤

Thanks! I bought the fans on Amazon. I actually used burgandy colour mill food coloring with a touch of black. Using the fondant wrap technique, for me, is the best way to not get elephant skin. You might want to try making LMF fondant. That os the best fondant, in my opinion. I just usually don't have time to make it:(
