You put Lara in the Indian team of his era & you have hands down no argument you have the greatest batsman that ever lived. The team he inherited was a shame bar 1 or 2 players. West indies cricket board made the mans life hell of the pitch & on it majority of the time he had to bat at both ends. No 1 can take away what this man done for cricket. He's a legend that sits at the top of the hill ahead of all who played before & probably after.

Exactly Brian Charles Lara had was to curry that West Indies TEAMS he played all by himself if Brian Charles Lara had players around him like what Tendulkar had trust Brian Charles Lara would of been lefting a ODI World Cup 🏆 aswell, Brian Charles Lara is the Greatest batsman I EVER seen played the game there's no OTHER like him so for Brian Charles Lara is the Greatest 🏏 🇹🇹..#UltimateKingOfCricket. #BcLara9🏏🇹🇹.

You have spoken the truth bro. Had he played for India he would have been called the greatest ever and very rightfully so. Talent wise he no parallel. The same machinery that went into calk some other batsman as the god of cricket would have hailed lara as the best but this time genuinely. Look at the class of the man. No comparison.

What a player an absolute genius with a cricket bat in hand, however, Viv Richards remains the most complete and destructive batsman to have graced the Universe.

Under the circumstances that Brian Lara played in his era, along with the challenges of decline in quality of the West Indies cricketers, I'm not sure there was any player in the world who could have accomplished what he did at the time. These documentaries are never done reflecting the full context of the time. The most entertaining batsman of all time!

To me Lara was the best player in the team. And if he had the support from the other players in the way they play it would of make things better,For west Indies. One batman or bowler can not win a cricket game. The team have to perform to get good results.

Only the great George Headley would've faced what Lara went through as a great player batting alone and being compared to a fellow great Headley battled against the Don whilst Lara was alone against Sachin but he did it as a quarterback without defensive linebackers whilst Sachin sat in the pocket fully protected

Most consitent bat of the WI is Shirv Chanderpaul he is always overlooked but his talent and achievement shows it all in the books and records . Shiv carried the burden of WI batting more than a lot of who is highlighted

Is this a Chanderpaul video? 😂😂😂
@sabalipeaceandpatience92643 ай бұрын
I'm from the Caribbean and that is just not true. Chanderpaul didn't give up his wicket but he didn't carry the innings like Lara. Every failure from Lara used to result in the failure of the west indies. Chanderpaul improved after Lara retired. No one else was consistent in Lara's prime. Adams, hooper, Jacobs, chanderpaul and Gayle were extremely poor for most of the innings.

This narrator often used the word potential throughout 365 401 501 and countless memories he gave the sport breaking a record at an age when most other players would be elated to score a hundred muchless 401 he lived up to his full potential and surpassed it by a country mile no batter is or will ever be perfect Brian Charles Lara came very close Sir Viv had brilliant soldiers to fight before he struck the killer blow Lara had no such army of fierce gladiators to go battle with

I’m really not interested in subscribing to hear anyone chatting down another human being of any caliber on their short comings. No human being was born perfect. We all have our differences and we are all more than likely to miss the pocket on the 8 ball 🎱.

What a contradictory video, he is great but he isnt great. His average is over 50 first of all, that is one of the benckmark of greatness. I will never blame him for anything captaincy or not. Those teams he inherited was way below par and he tried with what he had. Lets talk about that, he was never labelled underachiever either this is very misleading. How can he produce extraordinary innings as you are saying but is an underachiever, smh contradiction at its best

Why don't you speak on why his test debut was made against the best team in the world {Australia} and how his inner strength and ability pulled him through? was he being set up for failure? and by the way this clip is sh*t.

His test debut was against Pakistán in 1990. His first time vs Australia 🇦🇺 was in november 1992. In btwn that he played vs Saf in April 92. Perhaps,he should have played vs Oz in the Caribbean in 1991and vs england in summer 91
