Having a degree in psychology myself, I have never felt Phill had the compassion to be a therapist, and he gave up his license anyway. But the negative treatment of guests in order to gain ratings and money have been mentioned several times in recent years. They have even shown some things of the cruel treatment of guests backstage. But where's the alleged divorce? Your channel does these false leads often so go work for Phil.

I used to watch Dr Phil repeat shows on OWN. I thought much of what he had to say was valid in most cases, although I could really do without his christian opinions. Then I saw a segment when a family with 2 or 3 adult siblings had an issue with their dad. This dad decided that after 40 or 50 years of playing the father and husband felt it was time for a change in his life. He was done living a lie and made a plan to become who he felt he was, all of those years. He became a she with a big change in becoming transgender and finally comfortable with herself. Personally I applauded her courage and her commitment for her family. Her children were angry, unrelenting and stubborn and Dr Phil took sides on this one, he sided with the children. Instead of trying to mediate the situation with understanding, he remarked and shamed her for her choices, told her how wrong she was for becoming a woman and that it was a selfish act. I could not believe how ruthless Dr Phil and the children were. The trans woman had hoped her children would have been there for her during her courageous transformation but they refused basically telling her she was sick in the head and she just sat there and took it. She took the ridicule from everyone AND Dr Phil. He could have offered counseling, suggestions and helpful advice but he chose not to and that is when he became A PIG in my eyes and I haven't watched another episode since. He crossed a line without apology, so that was it for me and my opinions about the matter.

The therapeutic help he offers also only seems to be gifted to 95 0/0 white upper middle class crazies. I remember a family of horribly abused black adults whose father had created an absolutely vile cult. THEY didn't get offers to go to his country club spa resort camps. He disgusts me utterly. The description of his employees claiming intimidation, manipulation, and mistreatment fits perfectly with his behavior and approach to his show in which he displays, aggressive intimidation of his guests and creates a tense situation which adds to the interest in his show. I think he deliberately presents himself as powerful and in charge, which as a psychologist, I see as overconfidence with little if any self-doubt. I don't think people see him as kind and understanding, and I doubt his employees found this to be the case. Why would he be different behind the scenes? Makes perfect sense.
