I'd love for you to do a video visiting a German university. I'm considering studying in Germany probably after I get my undergraduate degree and I wish to see the diversity and the classrooms and campus of an actually German college. Always loving the new videos every week! - Olivia

Yes to fight racism you castrasize racists. I don't understand this. Putting them on the fringe will only make their beliefs stronger. I just hope people are actually making the effort to speak with them and help reason with them. If you can't reason with them, you have to be more patient. You don't change a person's perspective in a day

I'd like to learn the proper pronunciation of the composer ' Pachelbel', does it follow the after vowel 'A' rule? Thank you very much!
@antoinebacon-heidinger7768 жыл бұрын
This is how I'd pronounce it : Pahèlbèl" (the "h" beween the "a" and "e" is a strong aspirated 'h' all along with a kind of light 'r' sound just before ; and both of the "l" aren't really audible, especially the second one, but still pronounced distinctly). I don't know much about that "after vowel 'A' rule" and as you can tell I'm as much as ignorant at describing phonetics, but I guess that is a correct way of pronouncing it. (PS: I don't speak German but Elsässisch so there might minor differences with other suggestions but Pachelbel was from Bavaria so I thought that a Southern Germanic spelling would be more appropriate).

@sugoiguy20485 жыл бұрын
As a victim of the German school system, I can promise you that there is nothing good about German schools. Classes are either too long or too short (90 or 45 Minutes), most teachers don't evaluate fair and mostly tend to give girls better marks. Especially oral marks are never fairly distributed. And the worst part is dividing middle-school in Hauptschule, Realschule and Gymnasium. Based on your marks in elementary school, you will get a recommendation from your class teacher. And the Hauptschule is worthless in the German job market and only children from "complicated circumstances" are visiting those. And the worst part is that they have to go two more years to a certain school to get their Realschulabschluss. The Realschule is what most people would understand as a middle school and with your Realschulabschluss (graduation) you can learn most jobs. But based on a study even a Realschulabschluss is not considered as a competitive degree. You can only visit the high school (Oberstufe), if you got good marks in your Graduation (Average of better than C). And the last and probably most overrated of all is the "gymnasium". It is basically a preparation for the high school and can be separated between G8 and G9. G8 was hell on Earth. You had lots of classes and I even had to learn two languages since 5th grade (English and French). G8 basically compressed 6 years of school content in 5years, which means that you only had to visit middle school until 9th class. The problem was that you had 0 free time. G9 on the other hand was the same as the Realschule with one exception. They learned the same stuff but their exams were much more complicated.
