The stepdad isn’t a bad guy. A bit arrogant when he says “more importantly I gotta work tomorrow” considering it’s not his home (might’ve misinterpreted that) but otherwise his request was reasonable and he wasn’t aggressive when he asked. If I had to choose between living under a roof with him or their real dad, it’d be no brainer. I’m sure Brad later regrets this after all the other craziness happens. Potentially missed out here on having a real father figure.

@@Leatherface42O The real dad murdered his brother and girlfriend so no he's definitely not better...also I'm pretty certain he died in jail. The stepdad I think we didn't see enough to get an idea....came off pretty well here. Truth is, the Sean and Chris Penn characters are bums who do nothing but drink, stay up late, do whatever they went, no responsibilities...

Their mother should've been the one telling them to go to bed and to get a job, not her boyfriend, even though he was absolutely right about trying to get some sleep. Those two boys were undisciplined and did whatever they wanted.

Regardless if they kids are bums , you have no right bossing around the kids just because your banging there mom , it was there home way before he showed up, if he doesnt like it then he needs to move out and find better because if the mom isnt even got control then no way in hell them boys letting a stranger do it either lol
@rampageclover978811 ай бұрын
@@houseviceroy he didn’t boss them around - he just asked them to turn the TV off, if they said “we’ll turn it down” I’m sure he’d have met them halfway. But yes their mom is at fault as well for tolerating this

@@houseviceroy They were being inconsiderate, selfish, disrespectful dicks. Doesn't matter if it's the mom, the boyfriend, or the neighbors - someone needed to give them an ass-whooping. I'm surprised (and disappointed) he had so much self-control that he didn't gut-punch the kid and then throw his stuff out in the yard with him. And it's too bad the mom was portrayed as siding with the degenerates vs. the boyfriend. But then again, we don't know what other problems they were having - for all we know the boyfriend was an abuser. We just don't have any info beyond this scene. But just based on this scene - the punk son said he didn't have a job. Yet he was sucking beer, weed, and had food, electricity and a roof over his head. Who was providing all of that for him if he didn't have a job? The mom, grandma, and boyfriend who had to get up at dawn? That unappreciative prick should've been kissing boyfriend's ass (and mom's and grandma's) for letting him even stay in the house without paying rent, much less wasting money on beer, cigs and weed). Holy crap that house was backwards.

I had a stepfather my mother escaped from him when I was 10 a long time ago. he looked like Chris Walken in that movie and he was kind of like him. no compassion, no conscience, a psychopath. he killed my dog. and I heard it 30 years later. they didn't tell me when I was a kid. Walken plays 150% believable. perfect cast. Walken is an incredible actor. @@houseviceroy
