Hi Vivi as the other lady said please don’t be offended by what I say here as it’s meant in the kindest way but clothes of any kind are commanding absolutely no money whatsoever unless it’s high end luxury ie Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton etc. I tried the last 2 years to sell my £2500.00 wedding dress and we’re getting offered for £15/ £20 when I’d only got it on for £200 then down to £150. Sadly people won’t pay the money anymore and offer the likes of £2.50 etc…….. I honestly don’t think any amount of staging will sell any clothes these days sadly everyone wants things for nothing. I’d try putting your clothes on your website and see if your followers want to buy them that actually may be more effective as people that know you will want to help. People just don’t have the money x

hi. I know you are right about clothes and shoes. I have also tried to sell shoes worn once for special occasions, and decent clothes for fair value, and people offering nothing but pennies and being hurtful when I refused.

Just to reinforce the suggestion to sell on Vinted. I’m currently clearing out all sorts of things. I’ve made £100 in the space of two weeks from a mixture of items selling from £1 to £10 and one at £25. Hanging clothes neatly on the back of a door has been fine, though of course I can’t compare it to what I might have got with nicer pics. I want it all gone quickly though, so personally very happy with what I’ve made. Also no fees on Vinted unlike Feebay! Good luck Vivi!!

Dear Vivi, this is coming from a nice place, dont be upset with me, I would suggest you get rid of the items.. You will never go back to your old computer, think how many years you had the old one, when the new one starts to act up, the old one might not even start without apps and updated technology. And those dresses, how many times are you going to move them, pack them down and then pay someone to carry them from your old flat to the new one. I have packed down my mums flat this summer. So much stuff! She is not a hoarder, but everything adds up, before you know it. She has always kept the flat so tidy and neat, but the basement and every drawer was filled with stuff. She had 10! full sets of china, coffee sets, 5 or 6 full sets for dinner. Same with the chrystal glasses, vases and decor. Big old cabinets. Inherited from her parents and so on, and then she "never had anything to wear". But the clothes. I am completely overwhelmed. This last Friday, I handed over the keys to the new owners. Finally done. What a relief. I have now started to pack clothes from my own wardrobe, and curtains, saved "just in case". I have given everything to charity. 🥰

I’d try Vinted for the clothes, upload the pictures you have done and you never know they may sell and if not upload some more when you’ve moved. You don’t incur postage charges etc just the buyer so its essentially free for you. Records should be able to be listed too.

Moved a year ago myself and just moved my mum - she is between homes is staying with me. It’s flipping stressful! I agree with what someone else said. Get it on the market asap. It’s so much harder to sell property in the winter. It doesn’t have to be perfect. I just put a load of clothing on Vinted and sold three items in the first hour! All under a tenner though, although I did recently sell a vintage dress on there for £30. EBay has really picked up for me in the past couple of weeks so it’s probably worth listing them on there now, as you can ask more. Good luck with it all! Deep breaths…

I visited ‘Vintage by the sea’ in Morecambe, yesterday, and even used, modern reproductions of plain dresses (without sleeves!) were being charged £65 each - and imported cotton, block printed, patchwork skirts (the kind that you would get from an Indian clothes/bedspread type shop) £49!!! - FOR USED CLOTHES!!! But when I try to sell things, (‘like new’ Fjällräven trousers, Seasalt dresses, The White Company dresses…) people want to pay less than a fiver! Once upon a time, if you knew the style name and described things well, you could get £15 to £30 back for things, so you didn’t mind if you’d put a bit of weight on and couldn’t get into your clothes anymore. Not now-a-days. 😢

Clothes don’t sell for much sadly unless branded. I downsized last year and they were hard and slow to sell. You could make cushions/napkins etc and sell as something else

Heat and humidity are incredibly draining. I’m from NC in the USA and after 66 years of it, I know! Do you have an electric fan? Maybe you turn them off during filming because of the noise, but I don’t think I’ve seen one in your flat. I can’t do a lot from over here, but I can have a fan delivered. I really want you to come stay with me for a while to rest and recharge for a while, but I can’t see you taking me up on that (but I wish you would!) Anyway, the heat distracted me from my original comment about the tap. 1. If you have any penetrating oil, go ahead and put it on the stuck threads. Giving the oil lots of time to work has been helpful to me in similar situations. 2. Once your sweet DIY guys get it in the vise, if it still won’t give, try heating the joint. It doesn’t have to be crazy hot, either. Hottest tap or a few minutes from a hair dryer can make a huge difference. 3. If heating doesn’t work, put heat on the top of the joint and cold below for a few seconds/minute. Unless the joint was rusted or stripped, this process has invariably worked for me. Hope it works for you, too. Don’t forget the oil😊 Blessings to you!

Hello lovely Vivi, grrrr...those taps. I remember when you sold your beautiful taps years ago for extra cash. The one's they make now don't last and are hard to fix so you have to keep replacing them grr. Don't even get me started on bra's and I know you understand what I'm thinking on that score. I've been with you from the start and I don't feel stress coming from you just you ticking off everything you have done and things you need to do in a quicky video. I'm sure you will find your way as you always do. I read some of the comments sometimes and I think to myself this is Vivi blooming Gregory.. what has it been 7 or 8 year's without a wage. If there's a will.. there's a way and that phrase is you to the core. I can see in the gestures and expressions if not the words the multiple ideas spinning in your head. Vinted worked for me , it can be a bit frustrating at times but it is another avenue to use

​@@WhatVivididnext I did a lot on vinted last year and didn't have any issues thankfully, but I was still very wary. Here's some things I found helpful if it is of any use to you: The app is super easy and quick to upload, once you get your head around parcel sizes. Decide the most convenient delivery options (Royal Mail, Evri, DPD, Inpost) for you and be sure to select those in settings. I initially had mine open to all which meant me having to drive miles sometimes & use fuel, which defeats the object when you only made maybe £2! I always check the profile/feedback of the buyer first to see if they appear trustworthy. Take photos/video of when you pack the item up & with the postage label on. Video can help to show condition of item before it was posted in case of dispute. Send to buyer to confirm item has been posted. It's a bit more time consuming but the peace of mind and protection it gives me is invaluable! Withdraw your money from vinted immediately on receipt, don't let it build up. I heard of a handful of people losing hundreds when vinted suddenly decided to close the account for whatever reasons. You will get a lot of ridiculous offers, even if you haven't selected open to offers! Make sure you take time out to enjoy the remnants of summer! ❤

Why not try to list the dresses on your shop? Could you borrow a tool from that shop that you talked about to cut the long backs off the screws on your wardrobe? It may take an eye out if you or next owner is bending down. ❤ from a klutz who would likely do that.

I sell clothes as a part time job. I recommend Vinted. Boden and Seasalt does well. cath Kidston is less popular now. Dont wait for a garden just put it on a mannequin in a corner of your room and get them on vinted!
