This is such a non-incident. Regardless of your politics, it's obvious that Trudeau was trying to take charge and cut through needless bureaucracy with an accidental ill result. It's further obvious that no one was even remotely injured, mentally scarred, or made to feel the HoC is unsafe. The hyperbolic responses calling this, "assault" or saying that "drunk drivers don't intend to cause crashes" are absolutely absurd. Chantel, How can anyone call this an accident……When someone is so enraged with anger and heads straight towards a small group of colleagues, because things are not going his way, the end result cannot possibly be called and accident. To say the least, this was very reckless behaviour and a complete lack of respect for Parliament. Canadian Criminal CodeAssault· 265 (1) A person commits an assault when o (a) without the consent of another person, he applies force intentionally to that other person, directly or indirectly; o (b) he attempts or threatens, by an act or a gesture, to apply force to another person, if he has, or causes that other person to believe on reasonable grounds that he has, present ability to effect his purpose; or o (c) while openly wearing or carrying a weapon or an imitation thereof, he accosts or impedes another person or begs.

I love the comments made about "Young and First Time voters". Firstly, the way they describe us is fairly condescending and obviously an attempt to discredit our vote. Secondly, their comments show that they do not understand our generation or care to really do their research. 95% of the responses I've seen on my social media feeds have been that this is blown way out of proportion and that the opposition are a bunch of bullies and cry babies. This is not how Justin Trudeau will be remembered, nor do I think it will cause Canadians to look at him in a different light. Small blemish in the grand scheme of things. What doesn't surprise me is the opposition using this as a way to point fingers and to cast blame... even though they were the root cause of the whole fiasco. I'm not sure why CBC is covering this so heavily. CBC is partly to blame for this becoming so much bigger than it should be... and weren't they just kissing the Liberals butts during the election for funding?... His actions were unusual for the house, but trust me there is a lot more unusual stuff going on in there... Look at the state of things.

This is absolutely ridiculous - the horrific hyperbole thrown around by the opposition undermines people who actually suffer from assault, or "molestation". Attacking the PM on being anti-feminist is taking the issue in an absolutely absurd way, and potentially gets the House into an area where everything is gender politics. He apologised and we need to move on. I don't want this dragged on for one more hour let alone months and months. It was inappropriate behaviour to be sure, but I think he's handled it appropriately since. Whether he's penalised in some way is up to due process, but as for the oppositions opinion on this I think they're giving the entire House a bad image. The panel this week talks about the opposition benefitting from this, but I don't think they have - I think that they've clearly tried to take this up from something that could help chip away at Liberal credibility to a full blown partisan attack, and they look worst of all. I didn't even vote Liberal, but I'm embarrassed by the party that I did support.

What does the whip say about it? It seems to be all about the elbowing. It's not Justin's first time losing his temper in the house, he called Peter Kent a Piece of shit in 2011. It was not his job to intervene, that is the Speaker of the house's job. Anywhere else in Canada it is called assault by placing hands on another. I would've shoved Mulcair out of the way to let me pass if I were that Liberal member or perhaps shouted at Mulcair to get out of the way so everyone could very clearly hear what was going on. The issue isn't that he bumped a fellow mp. the issue is that, after a month of increasingly vicious attempts to sideline and silence the opposition, the liberals held a vote that would have put the opposition in a straight-jacket and, when the opposition took 3 minutes too long to sit down, THE PRIME MINISTER got up said "get the fuck out of the way", and physically dragged the opposition mp too his seat so he wouldn't have to put up with the democratically elected oposition anymore. Shachi Kurl appears to be fairly new to this, and it shows. She seems to have over-prepared for this broadcast, coming up with a few goofy sounding phrases she's evidently worked on at home. Dig how carefully she emphasizes and delivers a certain rhythm on a line like "With mash-ups and memes," with its self-conscious alliteration. Or, the rhythm that sounds well-practiced on these phrases meant to emphasize rhyming words in the phrases "pool hall brawls," and "blue line grinder." Alliteration and rhyming in journalism or political panel discussions are fine but sound best when words used are, first and foremost, excellent choices to convey ones ideas. But Shachi sounds amateurish in the above phrases, as if she's chosen form (rhythm, rhyme, alliteration) over content. In contrast, Chantal and Andrew sound more natural, credible, and sincere in speaking, choosing and delivering phrases not for ornamentation, but as words chosen to best express their own ideas, opinions, knowledge, and feelings. Surely, that's what viewers most want to see in a CBC political panel discussion, and presumably that's why Chantal and Andrew are still with the show all these years later. Take that, Shachi.

Ok kid's, you've had your fun now lets get back to work. That's what Justin should have said, just like a teacher would of in a class room. He f#*%ked up for sure.

You can clearing see that the ndp's were blocking the conservative member, in fact they move three times to block him trying to pass through. The ndp's in my opinion shouldn't have been playing a game here in the first place. I agree it was an accident.
