I am always amazed at how interesting you make history sound. I wish I had had a teacher like you.

One gets the impression you hate Edward VIII more than you hate Titus Oates! I’m incredibly interested to hear about the Upton Sinclair though.

Oh, Titus Oates wins hands-down! But Edward VIII is definitely on the list -

I read Upton Sinclair's "Boston" in January this year on Kindle and found it well worthwhile. It had been a long time since I had read anything by him but I think I will take some time to revisit his work again.

Re: Erasmus. You didn't explain why, if he was at Oxford, the title of the book is, "Erasmus and Cambridge."

@@codex3048 you’re right, I didn’t explain why - it could be what you know it was, an entirely minor slip of the tongue, or it could be that I don’t know the difference between the two, think they’re the same, have never heard of Erasmus, and don’t really read at all. But either way, you got the tiny dopamine hit of leaving a catty comment, right? That’s the important thing.

@@saintdonoghue It was an honest question. I'm sorry that you interpret any non-sycophantic comment on your channel as an attack.

Christopher Isherwood Goodby To Berlin was read in college. The professor chose short novels because the Gen Zers had a low attention span. Would try to text their professor or copy Wikipedia as substitute for a written paper.
