Jim & Molly Denton shelter (977.6) to Rod Hollow shelter site (mi. 995.9) It was a work day today. We got up and banged out 3 miles in what seemed 15 minutes, and that brought us to a road where an incredible breakfast place was located 2.5 miles away. There was a day hiker just arriving and I hinted for a while but he wasn’t getting it. Finally I said hey $5 if you take us down to that restaurant … sure he says. We had a good breakfast, then I chatted up the owner and he gave us a ride back to the trailhead … no charge 😂 The rest of the day was grindy grine grine… no views and hot, however the clouds came around for a bit and saved us. When we arrived at the shelter, my shirt was as soaked as its been in a while, I was going to wring it out, but I knew I either had to use my energy to do that or make dinner,so I made dinner 😆… 4.1 miles in the morning to hit the big 1K, and 10.6 miles to my pick up spot 🙌🏻 Can’t wait shower, do laundry, go through my mail box from home, and drink water with ice in it.
Todays menu: Package of pop tarts, pack of toasted peanut butter crackers, granola freeze dried meal, 3 eggs, pancake, home fries, toast, bottle of Ginger ale, bottle of orange juice, some Pringles, nutty buddy peanut butter bar, package of pop tarts, and water.

The Maine flag with the star and tree represented the state from 1901 to 1909. The star (the North Star) represented Maine being the most northern state. The pine tree represents New England. :)
