Stealth site near Tanner’s Ridge Rd. (mi. 925.6) to Stealth site in a parking lot (mi. 944.5). Another long day, but the rain threatened then the sun prevailed!! Started the day off by getting “kicked out” of my cemetary tent site. A park ranger politely asked me to get picked up by 0700, which I certainly agreed to and was on the trail by 0648. I then hiked less than a mile to the big Meadows campground, store & restaurant, where the only thing that I wanted on the menu they didn’t have. I made due from the store and was off by 0930. Hiked hard until noon when the sun came out. I was near a parking lot so I took the opportunity to get everything dried out, which was awesome. I met a few kids working for the park in a trail crew, two of them had graduated from the University of New England, one of them was from Buxton Maine. I moved on from there and found a spot near a pipe spring that I actually had four bars for the first time since I don’t know how long. I knew my immediate family was in transit to the camp so I FaceTimed about nine other people, none of them picked up … 🥲 until finally my buddy Labbe did. I talked for him for a while and then hiked another 4 1/2 hours straight, to end of the day in a picnic area where we hope to illegally tent again tonight 😝. Had a chance to talk to Monday real late in the evening, which was great because he’s dealt with what I am dealing with. It was great to talk to him!
Today’s menu: Hot chocolate, Naked smoothie, an apple, a banana, Chobani yogurt, bottle of Cranberry-grape juice, package of cheese & peanut butter crackers, Builders protein bar, 28 oz. Gatorade, iced honey bun, freeze dried blueberries & granola, and water.
