Stealth tent site (mi. 1255.2) to Marked tent site (mi. 1265.8) Good morning, grueling afternoon. We banged out the six or so miles this morning to get to the trail magic for 11am. It was better than advertised! “Teach”had about everything you’d ever want at a trail magic on July 4th (see food journal below). We hung out there for almost 3 hours and then it was decision time … I head into town and try to find somewhere to stay for the night, or do the big climb out of town and get it out of the way. It was the warmest part of the day unfortunately. I decided to get the climb out of the way for tomorrow, and hiked about 4 miles to a campsite where I’m tented tonight. It was just a short day, but it felt good to be done early for a change. I’m glad it’s started to rain, I’m hoping it will take away the humidity.
Todays menu: Four 20 oz. Gatorades, can of Sprite, hamburger, 3 go-gurts, bowl of fruit salad, red pepper humus and chips, bowl of strawberries, bagel egg bacon & cheese sandwich, 2 small bags of fruit gushers, a Rice Krispie square, bag of freeze dried cookie bites, 2 small vanilla ice cream cups, small Luigi frozen ice, 2 raspberry granola bars, and water with Mio additive.

Wow what a view of that bridge you crossed, looks so small from up on that mountain. 🤣 Looked like an awesome 4th trail magic! 🍦

My scariest moment on the trail was the ten foot sheer cliff face I had to climb out of Lehigh Gap (near the top), but you didn't even mention it. Someone I hiked with from PA said "they" were considering bypassing it. Did you climb that short cliff or has the AT been rerouted around it?

Haha nope, it’s still there. It reminded me of hiking in Baxter. I was mighty sweaty climbing out of there though 🥵
