5:03 It's helpful to have the date so as to know when the call was placed. Watching this because I wanted to hear that voice again. I have fond memories of a few years ago when my Mum who was the church secretary would sometimes have me read out the weeks message stating what Sunday it was going to be, who was presiding, the time and location(s), and the numbers people should dial for pastoral care. It was on one of these machines but in black. Found one at a garage sale. Saw it not that long ago. Hope I find it again as I'm getting landline service at the end of the month and I'm not paying extra for voicemail. I like how yours has Spanish being a US unit. Being in Canada ours is English & French optioned. I should listen to the French voice on it. I'm now curious. :-)

recording time is based on memory capacity, which varies second by second, for example, if someone leaves long gaps of silence between words, that uses less memory. On the other hand, if someone is playing constant music loudly while talking, then that's going to use up memory quicker. So when they say "60 minutes" that's just a guess, basicly

Answering Machines Were Invented In 1935 By Mr. Willy Muller In Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
@ItsJohnC4 жыл бұрын
There seems to less and less stand alone machines being sold new these days. I find it usually that the stand alone machines do have better recording quality than the ones with the handset. However this one seems to be an exception. I recently saw these machines being sold at Walmart. Unfortunately this seems to be the only stand alone machine that is being sold new by any manufacturer. I just don’t understand why these stand alone machines are not being sold anymore. It’s sad to say the least.
@JordanU4 жыл бұрын
With the vast majority of phones sold today containing answering machines, the demand for such a product as this has diminished substantially.
@ItsJohnC4 жыл бұрын
@ Jordan U yea I agree. It’s just a shame though. I. Now in the 90’s and early 2000s the separate machines used to have better sound quality than the ones combined with the phones but I guess things change in 20 years. Great video and I like how you have been putting out content everyday.

Though one might want a non-answering system phone + a different brand of answering system to get the feature set they want on both. For example a Panasonic KX-TGD530 doesn't have a memo feature, so one who wants that could get a KX-TGD510 instead along with an AT&T answering system.

If you call the phone from another phone nearby it creates some interference, or feedback. It is not fair to judge it then. Try calling from a greater distance. I like the sound - much louder than my original machine. I like the generic message - telemarketers call me over and over and I have no personal stuff on this one. It does not seem to have a battery backup, but maybe it stores info & settings. It came the next day (ordered on Easter) so that was great.

Anyway this can be hooked up to a phone that runs though Internet?
@20NewJourney232 ай бұрын
Like, a VOIP phone line? MagicJack and Ooma are types of VOIP phone lines that run through the internet. Yes, this can be hooked up to work with those. I'm using a MagicJack phone line (might upgrade to Ooma next year), and can add this or another answering machine before my phone line. To do so, I'd connect the phone cord between the MagicJack and the answering machine, then the phone cord from the answering machine to my phone. That way, the first device connected to the MJ is the answering machine, which allows the line to be picked up by the machine and allow for recorded messages from callers. I'll be continuing my search for an answering machine. This one doesn't sound all that good, but I'm not sure if it was caused by all the feedback from his many devices nearby (such as camera/phone, cordless phones nearby) or if it is mostly just the device itself.

One thing I've noticed about every one of these machines is the audio is that same crappy sound quality no matter who makes it they must use the same sound chip/codec. Why cant they just use 8khz ADPCM or even something like mp3. If you record music onto one of these machines it will always be distorted.i have an old at&t cordless phone answerer and if I record music it will sometimes just record static.
@JordanU3 жыл бұрын
The sample late is outrageously low on these machines, which I don't understand why anymore since memory has gotten cheap. If you want one that sounds good, you need to get an analog cassette one.
@coondogtheman3 жыл бұрын
@@JordanU I have a couple that are. A regular tape one and a microcassette one. I just wish the audio quality on the digital machines was better since flash memory is so cheap now. The recording quality on many of the newer digital machines is absolute crap because they use cheap, very limited memory chipsets that hold as many recordings as possible with shit quality. Sad. I used to have a panasonic cordless set that had a superb sounding answering machine which was rare.
