Seems like a massive oversight that you've gone through 5 parts without covering the grandfather of Zelda: Atari Adventure!! So many seeds for Zelda were planted in this game, including a player traveling across multiple screens, a player that can pick up and use objects (even a happy SFX when you pick up a new object, just like Zelda).
@gluospfugsijhmnkzdf4766
@gluospfugsijhmnkzdf4766 Жыл бұрын
@@gurvmlk It’s a bit silly to claim Zelda’s a ripoff just because they’re both action-adventure games. Zelda was more closely inspired by contemporary Japanese games such as Druaga, Hydlide, and the Dragon Slayer series. While it’s very likely someone or a few people on the team had seen or played Adventure, it was probably lower on the list of influences.

My little cousin, she asks me why am I sleeping during the day. I just say it's just the way I am. But talking about games in the dark. That was me all the time, in the dark playing video games. Nobody awake to disturb me, it being all dark and peaceful with just the tv/game to focus on. It just has that feel, in a way, like when you watch a monster movie.

I grew up playing Krull. If I recall correctly, you collect weapons as you pass them on the horse-riding screen, you can't jump when you get stuck in the web, and you have to go to where you saw the glowing white thing (getting to the "door" just shows you where that invisible object is. The final screen is actually pretty fun.

In Alien, set the Right Controller difficulty switch to the B setting, then when you run over the "Pulsar's", i.e. pac-man power pellets, the Aliens will change color and you can run into them and destroy them.

@jasongruetzmacher3125 6 жыл бұрын
I kept thinking "this is Atari, why wouldn't they play with the difficulty switches to see what they did?!?"
@Musicradio77Network
@Musicradio77Network 6 жыл бұрын
Ken Wheeler Thanks for the tip. The problem with "Alien" for the Atari VCS/2600 is that the right difficulty was switch to "A" to make the game a lot more challenging. That's why the star looking power pellet won't work. If you turn the right difficulty switch to "B", it will make the game a lot more easier to play. When you get a power pellet looking star, the aliens goes pink to destroy them for points. Just like they did with "Pac-Man" when you eat the blue ghosts for points. That's what makes "Alien" a great game, and it is way better than the Atari's "Pac-Man" game which was bad.

Krull is actually a decent game. On the horse part, you press the button when it flashes over the Glave. You can get more than one. The flashing dot in the spider part is the path you take. You can't jump when the webs are pushing you. If that part is to hard, one of the difficulty switches will stop the webs from moving.

To beat the spider web level in Krull, walk into the rectangle to make the white dot appear. Then walk over to where the white dot was and push against the edge of the screen until the scene changes. If done correctly, a castle will rise up from the ground at the end of the animation instead of the players turning around.

21:10 if anything, this should have been a STARCRASH game: you rescue the survivors from the ship that is destroyed in the beginning as the indestructible weapon by Zarth Arn is after you. 24:15 it’s the WEB that keeps you from jumping... you know, because it’s sticky? 27:42 I guess it’s a good thing I haven’t taken my medication yet. The game has a day night cycle. Just like the movie, the beast`s castle moves with each dawn so you'll have to consult the lady of the web to see where it is. Liked this game as a kid, still like it now. The part where you fight the beast is my favorite, and again like the movie you have to use the flame of love to kill the beast! Pretty faithful adaptation of a movie license for the 2600.

On Krull, when you are in the spider's web, you have to fight your way to the gray center, where the widow of the web resides. The white light is not a crystal, but rather the exit you need to take to get to the castle of The Beast. In the film, the widow of the web could predict the location of the castle of The Beast, as the castle literally moved to a random location on Krull at the sunrise of every morning.
