People forget that coleco was a pretty darn good console. The fact that it had expansion capabilities made it even cooler. Just that those dreams were never fully realized in the proper manner...had weird controllers too and not as many people owned it as the 2600.
@gigoman-hu5hm6 жыл бұрын
to be fair this console was released right when the effects of the video game crash of 1983 were really starting to take effect so it is not Coleco's fault.
@Malouco6 жыл бұрын
TotallyRadicalRetroGames what about intelevision? Which was better?
@TotallyRadical6 жыл бұрын
gigoman1982 That certainly had some effect but so did the companies internal issues and just not capitalizing on initial successes.
@TotallyRadical6 жыл бұрын
Larry Medina Good question. Personal preference I guess. Although the intellivision was several years older. I personally would go Coleco just because the controllers were slightly better and the gameplay was better overall for most games. But dont get me wrong the Intellivision had some good games for a console released in the late 70s
@gigoman-hu5hm6 жыл бұрын
TotallyRadicalRetroGames true but one thing I'm sure we can both agree on is that focusing entirely on the Coleco Adam computer was a bad idea for the company.

Frank Schneider you misunderstood what I wrote. I meant that it's rare that there are retro games I havent seen or played.
@frankschneider61566 жыл бұрын
TotallyRadicalRetroGames Ok. But I don't think that's really true, there were ~ 20000 games for the C64, 10000+ for the ZX Spectrum, ~ 5000 for the Amiga, and who knows how many for the PC-8801 and the PC-9801 that never made it out of Japan. Not talking of all the old DOS games and all the other (especially Japanese)) home computers. Nobody, .. ehm .. let's better say: no sane person has ever even played the majority of them (If you mean: consoles, that's a different thing and quite achievable ... ever played Arcadia 2001 games ? Had some nice (even licensed) ports of highly obscure arcade games you can't find on any other system.)
@TotallyRadical6 жыл бұрын
Frank Schneider well you may be right. But I'm almost 40 and been playing and collecting games since I was 6. Yep, that B.C. game came out in 1983, while SMB1 was released in 1985 in Japan. There was a sequel called "Grog's Revenge" that came out in 1984, and it's also a bit of a weird specimen. They tried to give the game a bit of a 3D feel, and your goal is to collect clams to pay tolls at the end of each section.
