I tried this and it does work wonderfully however i made some modifications : 1.) Wrap some cloth at the holeless bottom part so that the moisture wont drip away from the bottle. This will avoid possible short circuiting. 2. Use modified ice so that it will last longer . Use a tubular cellophane bag and fill it with water then make it into ice. Make sure though that the ice fits inside the bottle. Ice cubes will melt a lot quicker bit a huge solid piece of ice melts slower.

@@geraldtan3117 i dont think that is a good idea. you see, mist/vapor from saline water could mess up metals and will rust your fan if ever those water vapor get into the machine (not that it will happen on a well-made one though). a small block of solid ice would do enough. we wanna be as safe as possible in doing these stuff :)

The three principles involved are 1. Heat Transfer - The ice has a low concentration of heat so the hot air is drawn to it causing the ice to melt. As the ice melts due to absorption of heat, the air around it cools. 2. Forced draft - the cool air now gets blasted by the force of the rotating blade forward and makes contact with air particles that are are farther from the melting ice. 3. Evaporative cooling - the blasted cold air reached the dew point temperature and, as our country has high humidity immediately releases the water vapor giving that cooling effect as the cooled vapor absorbs even more heat. However, unlike air conditioning, there is no controlled volume so, you have to actually open the windows since the humidity goes up due to more evaporation caused by the apparatus. If you do not open the windows, the room will be saturated with vapor causing natural discomfort.

It would be better to use a smaller frozen bottle of water inside a bigger empty bottle of water that had the holes, etc. like the ones attached to the fan. First, less leakage from condensation that collects outside the water bottle which drips on the floor. Second, the ice inside the frozen water bottle wouldn't melt as quickly.

Also...you could buy a trusted invention like this called the swamp fans. You put cold water or even ice in it and does the same things.

Me, definitely. Not sure if I like this idea. I just get a spray bottle of water and mist my face in front of a fan. Works great.

Great video...but bit of advice, use your editing button to cut out any repetitious tasks. And you don’t show any process of where the water goes to in your video. A suggestion: clear tubing connected to plastic bottles , leave some slack for movement. And other end water going into a plastic jug. 😉

Thanks for your great great video. I really appreciate that. I will try to do some automation in your video. This is very detailed one. That's room temperature devise and your video is very neat and clean.plese do more videos

The temperature is going down because the gauge is sitting on fan close to the ice bottle. The far corners of the rooms would still be hot. Just these few cubes won't make any difference.

What about the water that will come through the bottle after melting the ice...what will happen with fan...it can be a dangerous when water will come contact with the fan of electricity

It.s a good idea. I think a way to improve this would be to place the ice in front of the fan. The fan draws air from all over the place, as you can feel with your hand, in the backside of the fan, the pull is very little, opposed to the great speed the air comes out. And so less air comes in contact with the ice

I have just made a quick air con unit with surprisingly ( slightly better than just using the fan ) with a 2 litre water bottle a £5 fan, few zip ties and a cooler block. Importantly no ice......... therefore no water so a lot safer. Took me 10 mins with stuff I had in the house. Check it out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5WTeWpvbsuFl5o

You place the thermometer on the other side of the fan to get the reading? No that is wrong. You should place it somewhere on the room to see how much impact this method can have on a room by monitoring the room temperature.

Yea I thought the same... I thought, well this isn't going to be accurate!:/ & She already ruined the video by taking way too long but once she zip tied the thermometer on the fan, it was like the video was COMPLETELY ruined at that point. Lolol... fuuuckkkkkk

2 suggestions: 1- have written instructions for people so we don't have to replay the video over and over, and 2- don't show thr whole process when you are doing things that are repetitive. Thanks. Its a great idea, just would like to see this and your other videos made so that people who don't have time to sit through the entire process can still learn to do it.

😂😂😂never mind I just finished the video. I’m not stupid. When I wrote that comment, this was before I saw how much ice she put in. I thought she would only put ice under the holes because WHEN IT MELTS IT’LL LITERALLY COME OUT OF THE HOLES AND DRIP EVERYWHERE AND ONTO YOUR FAN AND DOWN THE CORD TOWARDS YOUR OUTLET UNTIL IT HITS THE OUTLET AND SHORT CIRCUITS YOUR WHOLE ROOM.
