ATEEZ, short for ‘A TEEnager Z’. The group consists of eight members: Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho. You can easily tell when you hear high notes/amazing, strong vocals, he is Jongho the youngest member in the group. They have just 2 reppers Mingi (the guy who have slightly deeper voice) and Hongjoong. Before their debut they made dance covers(this is how they started gain fans).This group has an amazing stage presence. Their facial expressions and talents are insane. They one of the best performers in the industry now. Often said about them that their talent are not typical for rookies (beginner artists)

So a little about AteeZ: *pronounced AY-TEASE* It's an 8 member group (8 makes 1 team is their group chant) and they are heavy on a specific concept because they are telling a full story about their...Pirate life. YES THIS GROUP IS A PIRATE CONCEPT GROUP ALWAYS! Basically this was their debut song and they've skyrocketed into popularity especially here in America very quickly and gained the nickname of Monster Rookies because they are a newer group but their performances, songs, production, and execution is of someone who's been doing this for years and years. The story is very long and very detailed but basically there is 2 sides of AteeZ...their true self and their dark selves. AteeZ is following their destiny in search for their treasure (Atiny *pronounced Ay-tee-knee* also fandom name which is basically AteeZ and Destiny smashed together. Their "Treasure" is their fans, and the song that follows Pirate King in their pirate themed storyline) while staying true to themselves. But the closer they get to their destiny the more distorted they become with their dark thoughts and dark persona know as "Dark AteeZ" which we get a glimpse of in Say My Name, but we get fully introduced to in Hala Hala! Dark AteeZ is the way they feel fame can change anyone and with it comes wanting more, greed, and of course trying to get to the Treasure before their true selves does but AteeZ fights them and continues to conquer the journey all the way through because staying true to who they are and have always been is what matters. There is an ENTIRE theory video (a few actually) and break down of each song/MV and how the story is piecing together to see who gets the Treasure that will explain way better than I am but in my own words this is the quick summary lmao.. Who will defeat at the end..AteeZ or Dark AteeZ?! Only time will tell. (Lowkey I think most of us are all about Dark AteeZ tbh because it just hits a little different but it's all the same level of amazing either way). It gets confusing but they are truly pirates all the way for everything and yall will see that as you guys progress through their MVs and songs. AteeZ song suggestion if you guys dont care to follow storyline order that you guys should check out first: -Hala Hala -Wonderland -Thanxx -Say My Name Everything AteeZ is straight fire. Also side note: AteeZ is open for interpretation on the group name but it initially means that they can do and conquer all (initially everything Teens like but theyve said it's for everyone really) from A to Z. But theres been a few other explanations. And yes you'll get tons of choreo because they are known to be one of the best dance group in kpop..these guys put on a full blown show and dance is the center of it all..its amazing to watch.

ateez follows a pirates-going-after-a-treasure storyline and sometimes the story changes according to public voting. once they asked fans to vote between two songs (inception and thanxx) and that decided the next step of the storyline as each song represented a different path in their journey to the treasure. i could write a whole essay bruh it's so damn interesting!! edit: the lyrics (and mvs) of their songs are connected as if telling a story, that's why the storyline changes when we vote for a certain song. the fate of their journey to the treasure is in our hands! with the first voting between "illusion" and "wave" we chose the difficult path for them by choosing "wave" because we made their ship crash in the waves 😭 I'm not so sure if we made the right choice by choosing "inception" during the second voting i guess we have to wait for the next comeback for more information but i think maybe it'll end in destruction like we saw in the epilogue "answer" 😭

For Ateez...after Pirate King I suggest the 2019 MAMA "Mashup" performance...the DANCE PRACTICE (the live performance will probably get blocked but it's crazy fun to watch...more specifically the audience's reaction). Some people thought there was some kind of lighting thing going on but then figured out it wasn't the lighting. They were just going so hard they were actually shaking the room!!! (not mention the issues getting their clothing to stop attacking them). About the Dance practices: They're preferred by some cus you don't miss anything with cameras cutting/zooming in & out. They exist because fans kept trying to learn their choreo. Now (I mean when covid's not present) cities all over the world even have "Random play Kpop in public" events. Some groups (like NCT & ATEEZ) are known to show up at these events & dance together with their fans. And there's a very young rookie group MCND who even remove the vocals from their tracks & film LIVE singing dance practices...without mics! (if you don't have an idea how CRAZY hard that is... I'm a dance fitness instructor and vocalist for the Symphony, I have a deep loud voice, I AM miced and people still sometimes tell me to turn my volume up so they can hear me). If you want to follow one of the producers of their latest song "Crush" (as well as some of SM's songs) he goes by "JOONY Music" I learn a lot from him. This was one of Ateez (pronounced like 80's - aye tease) debut songs along with treasure! Both filmed in Morocco. Their overall theme for their songs is pirates seen in their choreo and lyrics. This song in particular they are wearing 'pirate inspired' clothes and also their choreo at 3:05 - the rocking hands are almost that of a ship. Their whole MV line are all a story that the fandom piece together with theories as to what's going on, but the concept is pirates trying to find their treasure - while in a way learning to accept themselves and their 'alter egos' (These are seen in songs such as Hala Hala, Say my name, Answer and snippets of them in songs such as Illusion). Honestly every song is a bop, they don't have a bad song....even their b-side stuff is amazing! They also have dance practices for some of their songs which show how powerful and just how good they are at performing and how amazing their choreos are. oh you guys definitely have to get into ateez!! they have a pirate concept but they come from a small company, so in their first few videos you don't really see much of the pirate concept (at that time they couldn't really afford it) but once you watch their mvs Illusion and Thanxx you'll see they're on floating pirate ships!! their Wonderland mv has a huge sea shanty type melody as well (that's the song that blew them up) so I'd start with that when diving into their songs :]]
