Now that they finally reacted to SuperM, I'm pretty sure the others told them that The great Taemin is there and a part of a legendary group named Shinee. When they're familiar with the name, I think that's a good time to recommend Shinee's song ☺ I also want them to hurry up and listen to Super Junior because I'm an ELF, but you see, even with NCT, they rarely listen to the music twice 😅 So I need to hold back with my recommendations so they're on track and not overwhelmed ❤

SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups. Baekhyun -- the one with the pink hair -- who is one of the best vocalist in the industry and Kai -- the one in the helicopter -- who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry are from EXO; Taemin is the other top dancer in the industry with one of the most well respected solo careers and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee; Taeyong is the leader of NCT and he is known for his dancing and rapping and Mark is the main rapper from NCT-127/NCT-U; and Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist and Lucas is a rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV. SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world. The group debuted in the U.S. in October 2019, so that is why "Jopping" is mostly in English because it is meant to be their foyer into the U.S. music market. The majority of SuperM's songs are mostly in English because they are designed for a U.S./international audience. Mark is Korean-Canadian, so his native language is English. And WayV is the Chinese sub-unit of NCT, so not only does Ten and Lucas speak Korean and English, but they also speak Mandarin. Ten also speaks Thai because he is from Thailand and Lucas speaks Cantonese because he is from Hong Kong and a little Thai because his mom is Thai. And although, Baekhyun, Kai, Taemin and Taeyong are all native Korean, they also speak many other languages. For example, Taemin, and his group SHINee, are very popular in Japan, so he is fluent in Japanese as well. Baekhyun has been chosen as the leader of SuperM. (Baekhyun is also the oldest member at 28 and Mark is the youngest at 21) However, Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group. Taemin is only 27 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 years old, so he is a super senior member of the group. So, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM. It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup. I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and storyline. The members of EXO are all aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baekhyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other SuperM member (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of their teaser videos which were originally released leading up to the release of "Jopping.") So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, SuperM's storyline is tied to EXO's storyline. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc. And just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own Superhero story, when they come together to form The Avengers they combine their story and concept and weave elements of each of the member's backstories into The Avengers storyline. I see SM Entertaiment doing the same thing with SuperM. Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking the "best" members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that NCT's dream concept and storyline also connects to EXO's storyline, just like how many believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline -- it is believed that SM's girl group Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, may be the Red Force. I think that SM may even have set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups -- and now maybe even fourth gen. groups, with the introduction of SM's new girl group aespa -- have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine. And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans. I think SuperM was SM's way of showing us that from now on we need to pay attention because all of its groups' MVs are somehow connected. SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form The Avengers. If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with their MV for "Moonwalk" and I think the story in their "Moonwalk" MV is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" MV is also part of that story. To help explain, I think EXO, as members of SuperM, are working with the other "Avengers" members to try and stop X-EXO. (X-EXO are EXO's alter ego clones) If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " MV -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys. Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO members who have been created by the Red Force. So, on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa, and maybe even Taemin's solo work (and possibly -- but not 100% sold on the idea -- even eventually SHINee, even though they are technically 2nd generation. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. So who knows, when SHINee comes back maybe SM will draw them into the storyline as well.)

Mark actually joined SM as a vocalist! He learned to rap while training at the Company and they keep giving him rap parts because of his skills. Taeyong just raps (but can sing and does sometimes). Ten sings mostly but debuted with rapping (he was an artist in Thailand as a teen) but he's an all rounder. Barkhyun sings. Lucas is only a rapper. Kai can sing and rap a bit. Taemin, from the group SHINEe but also a MASSIVELY accomplished solo artist, sings. Taemin, Ten and Kai are some of the best dancers in all of Kpop while the other members all fall into the dance lines of their groups ( except Baekhyn, but he apparently learns choreography the fastest.).

Fun fact: he's Taemin best friend since they were tweens and along him they're _unarguably_ the best dancers in K-pop. *TAEYONG* : korean, 25 y/o. The one with purple hair. Main rapper, lyricist, producer, lead dancer, visual and sub vocalist. He's in NCT as leader of the whole brand, leader of subunit NCT 127 and Face and Center of these groups. Fun fact: he's into raising fishes same as LC. *TEN* : Thai, 24 y/o. The one on the dance break. Main dancer and lead vocalist. He's one of the first members that debuted in NCT and is a member of WayV., where he's center and also main dancer. Fun fact: he speaks 4 languages. *LUCAS* : Hongkongese-Chinese, 21 y/o. The tall one in the brown jacket. Member of WayV. He's lead rapper, lead dancer and visual in superM. He's the moodmaker along with Baekhyun. *MARK* : Canadian, 21 y/o. (the one from the second rap verse in english). Main rapper, lead dancer and lyricist. He has debuted 4 times (NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream [he's the unnoficial leader of this unit] and now SuperM) He's the _maknae_ of SuperM (younger of the group) which is an official position in K-pop btw.

*About the positions in K-pop* : _Leader_ : is some sort of liason between management and the group and is in charge of the members. Most of the times is also the older member. _Sunbae_ : a senior position, the most experienced and the one who debuted first. _Role and position ranks_ : #1 main, #2 lead, #3 sub. Can be dancers, vocalists or rappers. _Center_ : is usually the one in the focus on shots and MVs. They're most commonly the best overall performer. _Face of the group_ : most of the time is also the center, the most representative or famous member. _Visual_ : the most attractive. Is an important position because they're the stan magnets. _Maknae_ : younger of a group of people. They're usually pampered by the older members.

Saw them in concert a year ago. Baekhyun was having problems with his mic for the high note. He sang that note so high and loud, he didn’t need the mic! When he’s not with EXO or EXO-CBX, he’s a top-selling solo artist. I get the movie soundtrack likeness because they’re marketed as “The Avengers of K-Pop”, hence, everything is so cinematic. SM and Capitol truly spent $$$ on this project group (SuperM). This MV was shot in Dubai, and really high budget, as SM targets the US market and as Super M was labeled as the Avengers of Kpop. And Super M's songs mostly are in english. And if not mistaken, CMIIW, Super M is, at the moment, the only korean group that literally start their debut in US soil. i don't think people told you this but SuperM makes more sense when you already know each and every single individual in the group. it's like 7 masters coming together bruh they were put together because each of them excels in their abilities. kai (exo), taemin (shinee) and ten (wayv) are dance masters, mark and taeyong (both from nct) are rap masters, baekhyun (exo) is a vocal master and lucas (wayv) is an overall great center that balances out the team. try checking out their solo stuff first, get familiar with them and then come back to watch SuperM again. you'll definitely appreciate them more. no need to react, but you can start with the SuperM individual teasers! 😁 edit: they all are obviously great at everything, but they were put in the this group for those abilities that i mentioned. 3 dancers, 2 rappers, 1 main vocal and 1 center/visual would be the closest we have to a standard formation of a kpop group. it's the absolute perfect combination!

Fun tidbit. The guys are grouped by their vehicles and group. WayV in the tank, Nct 127 in super cars, EXO in the helicopter, and Taemin our only SHINee is the only one on a motorcycle. And as he’s the longest debuted it was neat that they had him leading in NCT who are the newest. The coloured floating lights at the end of the video where they are “in” the coliseum are the colours of each of the component groups. Green for NCT, Pearl Aqua for SHINee and white/beige for EXO. SuperMs colour is pink the same as SM. I have seen this performed live and yes Baekhyun does hold that note like that even live.

Baekhyun...my bias in both Super M and Exo is phenomenal..not only is he among the powerhouse vocalists of Exo but he is also just in K-Pop known for his sensational vocal abilities even in live performances and power ballads...Along with his fellow Exo members like Chan and D.O and Xiumin. Taemin the member that was dancing in the desert... He is a legend in the K-Pop world with being the member in the Super M group with the most experience and longest career. When you watch his solo stuff you can really tell that MJ inspired a lot of his choices as far as fashion dancing and singing. Taemin and his own group Shinee, really helped transform the K-Pop universe we know today.. the other Super M members often talk about the influence that Taemin and Shinee had on them when they were younger and inspired them to pursue a career in the k-pop business

This song is pretty epic but I felt the same way as you when I first heard it. This group was formed mainly to target the U.S. market and they debuted in Los Angeles with a huge event at Capitol Records. They have a deal with Marvel and had the members drawn as characters - even commissioned a famous comic book artist (Kim Junggi) to create artwork for them. Their song 100 was played as an intro for the World Series, too. You should check out Tiger Inside next. I'm more fond of their B-sides as they seem to choose pretty epic movie-sounding songs for their title track.
